Hm, not necessarily. I am always aware of the news during the day, but for me I do not 100% require for there to be news. Although I agree that after the news is when the big moves come in. Oftentimes, technicals will align just before the news, so that's why I do not require them that much. Just watching out for the big news events and not to trade on those days - Interest rates, NFP, CPI, PMI.
I don't have an "old" strategy bro. I am just implementing a new concept. The foundation is still the same. So to answer your question - yes, it works. But now it works even better.
