I know why you were being hard on yourself Megan, there's nothing more frustrating than Hindsight, but you had a lot going on for the York trip, driving on other side of the road with just Andrew, and all the changes of plans with Cambridge and restaurant changes. I'm just glad it all worked out!
I remember watching this moment on your Instagram, I felt so bad watching all unfold. But am so happy it all worked out in the end, you two deserved this trip!
Just a bit of advice from someone who has lived thru this, make 3 photo copies of everyone's passports, and leave a copy with someone you trust, and another copy at your current location , and take a copy with you in your checked in luggage, while on your trip. This makes replacement SO MUCH FASTER for the embassy! Glad it got sorted for ye though, and Well Done on your business achievement ! We hope to meet you when you return to Ireland! And God Bless you on your holiday!
It was hard to watch, especially after watching the children's vlogs from the week and knowing you did go. But my heart was with you every step of the way, because it's happened to all of us. What I want to tell you, though, Megan, is that you were not dumb, and you didn't do anything wrong. This is what it means to be human. I sure identify with how hard it can be to love ourselves through this kind of disappointment, but let's make a deal we both keep trying!!
That was so hard to watch! Even though I know it turned out great, you guys were in so much anguish, I was so sad for you. Thank you for sharing though. Your heartache was so relatable. I've certainly been through times where I was deeply disappointed, and yeah, it sucks! Can't wait to see the joy on your face when you find out you're going after all! ❤
Great that you made it. You two are so kind and nice to each other even in the face of a huge disappointment....no wonder you are so loved by thousands around the world. Hope it is a brilliant trip.
Oy! I remember having the same happen with my wallet when I was far from home. Searched all day and finally gave up, broken-hearted. I went to climb into bed, and it was under my pillow. Shock, relief, and a big wave of feeling stupid when I remembered putting it there. ;-)
I got tears from watching you struggle with all that! On pins and needles now waiting for next video, even though I've watched the kids all week. God Bless!
I’m so sorry for that stressful day, and happy it all ended up working out. But good on you guys for having copies of your passport! I’ve never heard of anyone having a separate photocopy of their passport with them on their travels. Definitely keeping that nugget of wisdom!
If I’m not mistaken there is such things called “temporary passport” that the embassy can issue so that you can go back to US to renew it. My sister lost her passport before and that’s why they do for her.
I cant handle the suspense!!!!! Losing things gets soooo under my skin! I will look and look and look for a lost item, like for YEARS, always wondering what in the world happened to it.... your saga hit so close to home for me...... I cant imagine the miracle that happened over night for you guys!!! CANT WAIT FOR TOMORROW'S VIDEO!!!!
You live such a blessed life. You have amazing kids and my one brother died last year. I have never left the continental u.s. just the idea of being in England its something I can't ever imagine affording. Time to gather your blessings and be grateful
I am so happy for you guys, that you managed to fly there and have your getaway! That's life- not giving up, even if it seems impossible (: This is how I see you raising your kids and I admire you for that!
Megan, mike must be the most amazing husband in the world, he is so calm and excepting of the things he can’t change. We all have dumb moments but that doesn’t make us all dumb. Can’t wait to see what happens your sooo mean making us wait 🤣😘😇
I'm way behind on knorpp and south but i just watched this and teared up a little. long time follower. American living in China. I have a lot of respect for you and your family and i'm sorry you're feeling stressed. I didn't realize I was emotionally invested enough in your faraway life to tear up but i empathize so much! i know it's hard being abroad. you're not dumb. you're beautiful and smart and a good mom. I know you know all those things. yourhair is on POINT! you're past the awkward phase. i saw below that apparently there is an update. I hope its a good one.
This was really sad and hard to watch. I'm so sorry you guys had to go through that. I know you did get to go to your tropical paradise and you truly deserved it even more after such a miserable time. The kids vlogs were great and now I'm hoping that we get to see you happy and relaxed in the sun. ☀️
Ugh!!!! That was so painful. I couldn’t even take comfort in knowing someone else looses important stuff and can’t find them at last minute like me- because it hurts so bad!!!!
Oh man! Losing something important is literally the worst feeling ever! This is what happens to me when I am going through a stressful period of my life. I'm glad it still worked out to go on your trip! Traveling is amazing but can definitely have it's challenges. Bless you guys!
I’m so sorry for you Megan, I’ve lost so many things myself and forget everything. My heart breaks for you because I have been there too. You and Mike take off and spend some time alone. I love ya all!
It looks like you may have gone on your trip but I just want to say how much I admire how both of you handled the lost passport. I know you were going through a lot but you both seemed to keep your cool. God always has a reason even if you never know what it was. Looking forward to part 2!
Well, it was certainly a down day for you all. But I noticed a glimmer of excitement. What a joy to see all the children pitching in the search, looking under/into/behind everything to help you! To me, that was pretty tasty lemonade (you know, make lemonade when all you have is lemons)! By now, you either found it or got another one. May God grant you all peace and comfort!
I can only like this video because I know you made it. Seeing how sad you were is hard. That's happened to me, nothing THAT big, but I've gotten all the way to the airport and missed a flight because I forgot my drivers license at home. *ugh /glad you guys actually made it!!!
I was so sad watching this. When I saw this on Instagram I felt terrible for y’all. Glad it worked out. Thanks for sharing your downs as well as your ups. You’re definitely not an idiot. You have many, many things on your mind and losing stuff happens to all of us. Love your family ❤️
I cried so hard. Even though I know you went cuz I follow you on Instagram. But that emotional roller coaster with Magen had me all in my feelings. Can’t wait til tomorrow.
When something like this happens to me or my family I always say, "may this be our biggest struggle in life". So i wishthat this would be your biggest struggle and when you get your passport you'll be able to have an amazing getaway.
That was so hard to watch. I’m so sorry. Everything happens for a reason 💙 I am sure you and your husband will get the time together that you both deserve. ☀️
I really missed y'all this video was so real and reason why I love y'all y'all are willing and share your trials and struggle with us thank u for sharing your journey with us love Berta
Awe Megan and Mike, I'm so so so sorry for you guys! I was crushed with you as I was watching! I too was hoping in a miracle before the end of the episode, but it didn't happened. You so deserved this getaway! Everyone always says things happen for a reason, but for the life of me I can't imagine what the reason for this would be... however, I have to believe that something else totally unexpected and even better will come out of this, because you need it and you deserve it! You deserve to have some time just for yourselves. This is my heartfelt wish for you. I hope you got to go somewhere with what little time you had left and made the best of it, Egypt is an incredible place and it's nice and hot by the Red Sea during the day. I wish I were rich and powerful and could fix this all for you! I'll be anxiously waiting to find out what you decided to do. Best of luck and a great big hug to all of you. Jean
Like it for us. Done. It's so easy to lose track of things that we just assume are around someplace. We all do it. (Keys!) Looking forward to seeing how it all worked out!
Hello family Knorpp and South, Since long I had been following your family adventures. I want to thank you for sharing yourselves, your life and your values on your vblogs. Unquestionable, technology offers new ways of interaction and it is up to us how we use these tools. Myself I moved to Europe in late August of 2000 and since then I had been travelling too. In a different format as you guys :) however we share the passion of constant discovery. So, listening to some of your adventures reminds me of certain moments, of course with a different flavor. For sure more adventures will come to you guys! :) and the most important thing when those adventures imply challenges is how we surf them. So whatever is the outcome of this challenge, you are surfing it and that is life. (Side note: I always lose something, and I can say there is something a unexpected miracle on the way…. Life is always amazing :) ) Now while watching your latest adventure of travelling, I decided to write you this post. I am not so good on this public forum. I am supporting an European project that focuses on the research on how to improving the system when crossing the Schengen Area. The name of the project is BODEGA. At the moment, the project is looking to listen to travellers’ experience when they cross the borders of the Schengen Area. This is done through a digital survey through a survey bit.ly/BODEGA_Survey. Because you are crossing the borders constantly, (e.g. in France from USA, or getting to UK from Ireland, now in this fast trip to ….. Need to see the next video :) ), so I thought if you are interested to offer your feedback of your experience. I can assure you all the feedback will be read. Also Elijah Daniel, Esther and Andrew could answer the survey themselves, as each person who responds to the survey has the option to get access to a raffle to get some travelling gear. So, why not? If you want to listen more about the project the information is here: bodega-project.eu That is the mainly comment (perhaps different as the majority of people here). I know each day we learn something and more in each adventure. And as soon as we are healthy and complete, with our basics cover, so we are on the other side. Keep living your life as intense as you already do. From a viewer that will keep on watching you, as long as you share! :)
Something like this happened to me. Last May for my 35th birthday we used our unexpected tax return to go to Vegas with my husband and my sister and mother. Well 2 days before we were to leave a lady at a store carded me and said oh your ID expires tomorrow! Well I don't travel ever so of course I freaked out. And thought I couldn't get on the plan if it was expired so I rushed to the dmv to get it renwed well they don't give temp paper ID anymore just a piece of paper with a barcode . I prayed that they wouldn't give me any issues at the airport or at any bars, casinos etc . But I found out that the airport will accept an expired ID as long as it less than a yr expired. An no one bothered me when ordering drinks!
I'm sorry that you lost your passport, Megan, and I hope you get it replaced soon. However, some of that "down" feeling is probably due visiting the UK during the most depressing months of the year. It's miserable! There again, the days are now beginning to lengthen, and Spring feels like it's just around the corner (well, I can't help being an optimist). If you move on, I hope you'll return during a lovely summer.....we do sometimes get them ;-)
I’m so glad I know that wasn’t the end of the story! I can just imagine how awful the atmosphere would have been here if that had happened and you handled it so well as a couple, congratulations x
Thank you for reminding me! We are travelling in less than 3 weeks so I have put our passports in our travel wallet in our suitcase and have set a reminder in my phone to check for them the week before we go. So at least there is some light in this situation. Also good to know about copies of passports. Will organise that too just in case.
My heart was in my throat watching this! I kept thinking one of the kids would run in at the end waving the passport but I was watching the time tick down and I thought noooo, surely that can't be it. Then Mike is on a tropical beach and I had to rewind to check I wasn't imagining that! Can't wait to see the next instalment to find out what happens. I'm tempted to look on Instagram but don't want to spoil the surprise! Love you guys xx
Hey guys. We have had similar problems as well and have found that it is always best to just go to the embassy in person and you often get faster help...hope it never happens again but if so just drive straight there and hold a different American passport in the air. Worked for us anyhow
Oh Megan! I know this is all a thing of the past. But don’t feel BAD! You have 11 peoples passports amongst other things to keep up with. You both do an amazing job of keeping up with everything for all of your beautiful children all while traveling around the world. I think that’s pretty awesome!
Don’t worry-we nearly missed a flight to Singapore as a passport was left, luckily it go dhl up overnight. We had to cancel a whole trip as we never checked it’s expiry date and so we couldn’t go :(.
OMG! If you do get a chance to go to Malta, go. It’s is AMAZING! So unique and super beautiful and ancient. The kids would love it! I went the in Sept to visit the place my father was born. Just amazing!
My family (not me!) is notorious for passport mistakes. My stepdad has gotten to the airport TWICE and realized he didn’t have his passport. My mom has gotten to the airport and realized she had my sister’s passport. My mom also booked a flight and then realized the day before that her passport was expired. She delayed her flight a day and had to drive to New Orleans to get a new passport. Things happen and we adapt. Don’t beat yourself up!!
💜💜💜 the moments of grief help us appreciate the joyful moments so much more fully. I will wait for tomorrow's vlog and share the joy in the happy outcome. Today we embrace that grief with you. Much love to you all 💜💜💜
I know that things eventually worked out for you. I lost mine once and found it again months after I got a replacement. It was in a place that I thought I had checked several times. I feel your pain.
Oh I feel your pain! I have been there don’t that! We had planned a trip over a year of waiting and I check my passport and it expired and they could not even process a 24hr by it was backed up 3-4 days. It truly stinks but my husband and boys went on and I went to a local beach for a few days. 😭lesson learned.
What an awful thing to go through. I'm proud of you both for how you handled it though. It shows us that you're human. Sometimes you both seem like "Super parents" capable of no mistakes. So now I feel so much closer to you guys seeing you go through the same old disappointing stuff I go through.
I lost my passport at the airport once! I was at the gate, I had to go to the consulate and then leave on another flight a few days after. It's ok! It happens!!
I know when Elijah said that your passport was missing, I was anxious, but also praying 🙏🏼 so hard for you Meghan. I’m assuming from what I have read in the comments that everything turned out okay, which I’m so glad it did for you and Mike. I can’t wait to find out, quoting Paul Harvey, “The rest of the story”. Good Day ! 😊🕊🌈❤️
You and your family are such an inspiration to me. I don't have kids or a husband, but I see that at times I am not the only one who looses things on a trips. I lost a $500 gift card on the first day a vacation and that was all the money I had saved up for food and goodies to bring home
Definitely will come back tomorrow but honestly I thought sure it was in that one place that not one of you looked which is always where it winds up being and then someone finds it at the very last minute.
I have been in a very similar spot, expecting to go on a big exciting trip out of the country only to find out last second that it may not happen because of passport complications. I could feel the defeat that your faces showed. I'm glad that both of our circumstances ended well. I can't wait to see HOW :)
I loose things all the time too Meghan so I was right there with you this whole day! And of course the whole trip was on your shoulders and your fault. I always have to step away from what I’ve lost and say a prayer.....doesn’t always make everything better, but many times I’ve cleared my head enough that I come up with a solution. I’m so glad that you were able to go!! You certainly did need the time away
So so sad but watch Mikes face for the last 10 secs and that glaring Sunshine! It can only mean one thing yaaay!!!! I can almost taste the salt air and pina coladas....
I know why you were being hard on yourself Megan, there's nothing more frustrating than Hindsight, but you had a lot going on for the York trip, driving on other side of the road with just Andrew, and all the changes of plans with Cambridge and restaurant changes. I'm just glad it all worked out!

Sweet kids! Such a familiar look and sound when we've lost something. Jude: It might be in somewhere. ❤️ Love him!!!!
Motherdaughtersister must know....that it turns out great! You worded your comment beautifully!
I love seeing all the kids crawling around your room hunting. What a lovely family
You guys are so special to all of us who watch!!!!!!!!
Great that you made it. You two are so kind and nice to each other even in the face of a huge disappointment....no wonder you are so loved by thousands around the world. Hope it is a brilliant trip.
This was heart wrenching to watch you sweet sweet people go through this. I sure am glad it worked out. ❤️
I am so happy it worked out for your guys in the end, but it is still pretty brave that you also share moments like this with us!
We know u got to go...so i am on the edge of my seat to see how this miracle unfolded.
The disappointment on your faces is heartbreaking. We love you guys
Oy! I remember having the same happen with my wallet when I was far from home. Searched all day and finally gave up, broken-hearted. I went to climb into bed, and it was under my pillow. Shock, relief, and a big wave of feeling stupid when I remembered putting it there. ;-)

Please come to Durham, the architecture is amazing and so much history and places to visit x
This was so hard to watch! Meghan we love you ... I’m so sorry that this happened to you. Thank you for being so honest with us about this!
At least I know the route to take if I loose my passport when overseas. Thanks for showing us this.
Love that clip of Mike at the end! That is the face of a happy man! So happy something worked out for you in the end
Going to look for my passport! Haven't seen it since my last trip . . . good reminder for us all :-)

Yaye! You went! I'm so glad you got the emergency passport and it worked out that you were able to go on your dream beach holiday! 🌞
I've been through really crappy situations like this and it sucks bad. But I'm glad that you guys did get a happy ending.

agreed

Watching your family is an “essential “ for me!
Get it?
Oh Megan ❤️ I have missed a trip in the past because I lost my passport so I know how you feel. My heart goes out to you so much xxx
I felt your pain when looking forward to a trip and not going is crushing. So sorry hope you had a good time where you did go.
Megan, i am always losing stuff too.i feel your pain. I hope you guys h as d some fun as a couple anyway.
OMG! If you do get a chance to go to Malta, go. It’s is AMAZING! So unique and super beautiful and ancient. The kids would love it! I went the in Sept to visit the place my father was born. Just amazing!
Love your family, you guys are a great inspiration x big love from the UK
Much love to you all 💜💜💜
I am so sorry that you guys had to miss the trip. You deserved it so much.
Noble Yohannan. They never missed it
I lost mine too after we came back from our cruise in 2015
That was to painful to watch, even though I knew the ending. We prayed so hard as a family for you! I’m glad it all worked out!
Done that
What a carry on! I think the short grey days here in the UK take it out of everyone. I am looking towards the spring, and longer days.
What an awful thing to go through. I'm proud of you both for how you handled it though. It shows us that you're human. Sometimes you both seem like "Super parents" capable of no mistakes. So now I feel so much closer to you guys seeing you go through the same old disappointing stuff I go through.
Omg seriously, i was so sad after watching the video, but when reading the comments, im soo happy for u
I lost my passport at the airport once! I was at the gate, I had to go to the consulate and then leave on another flight a few days after. It's ok! It happens!!
so sad for you guys! but looking forward to tomorrow's episode! :)
I put a tile in the passport holder with my passport. Now if I have a problem I can ring it!
Whenever my family and I travel, I always make it a point to have pictures of our passports and visa stored in online storage just in case.
That was the absolute best ending!
Awww, I’m glad you vlogged eventho it was a tough day.
I am so so so sorry you went through this!
That was so sad. Glad it miraculously worked out
That cliff hanger of a millisecond in the end!!!!!
Heather Schmidt oh man, that's horrible 😥.
Definitely will come back tomorrow but honestly I thought sure it was in that one place that not one of you looked which is always where it winds up being and then someone finds it at the very last minute.
Fab news about the oils, I've just started to use them and love them already. I suffer with general anxiety and they are helping me so much with that.
I thought by the end of the vlog you were surely going to find it but clearly this is not a tv show.
I have been in a very similar spot, expecting to go on a big exciting trip out of the country only to find out last second that it may not happen because of passport complications. I could feel the defeat that your faces showed. I'm glad that both of our circumstances ended well. I can't wait to see HOW :)
I'm so sorry about your passport Meghan. I know the feelings you go through when u have lost something important. It's happened to me several times. 😥
You will love Malta! Go there!
Love watching you guys!! So happy it turned out well. Looking fwd to seeing how :)
So so sad but watch Mikes face for the last 10 secs and that glaring Sunshine! It can only mean one thing yaaay!!!! I can almost taste the salt air and pina coladas....
