I've been reading your comments and you guys pointed out a mistake I made in this video, so allow me to correct it here. Venusaur is NOT the only grass type available before challenging Misty. You can catch a Paras and Oddish/Bellsprout as well. It is important to note though that Oddish and Bellsprout are version exclusives, so I would not consider them as options either way, and Parasect is, well, trash haha. So in my opinion, Venusaur is still the best grass type to defeat Misty.
Edit: I have also been receiving a lot of feedback that you guys will have trouble accessing a lot of the members because they are trade evolutions. Do most of you still play on the original gameboy? I find that a bit hard to believe since trying out different teams would require the use of multiple cartridges, which is expensive and inconvenient compared to emulators. It is actually quite easy to access trade evolutions on emulators (for gameboy games specifically, which is why I do not use trade evolutions on teams for gens 4 and up). If you guys would like, I can make a separate video teaching you how to do it. It makes playing through the games a much more fun experience.

    • @geisterwolf397
      @geisterwolf397 2 года назад +2

How are version exclusives a no go but trade evos aren't?
Not everyone has the ability to trade or access to a randomizer to enable trade evos by level up.

    • @DFuegoH
      @DFuegoH  2 года назад +2

@@geisterwolf397 version exclusives are a no go because this team is supposed to be the overall best for both games. It is also much more inconvenient to trade version exclusives to the other games because it requires you to play the other game all the way to the point you that you can catch that pokemon before trading it to the other game. Whereas with trade evolutions, you just need to be able to trade and that's it.
I have never used a randomizer to make pokemon evolve and I do not have the slightest clue how it works. As for general accessbility to trade evolutions, it's really only a problem if you only play on the original gameboy. It's very accessible for emulator users. I edited my pinned comment to propose a potential solution.

I'm going with MysticUmbreon's team. You don't have to trade to get any of them, aside from Jynx, who has an in game trade. Gamefreak should have really given us another option to gain these pokemon without needing a buddy to trade with outside of the games.

    • @DFuegoH
      @DFuegoH  Год назад +2

You do you! You don't necessarily have to use the strongest team to have fun. It's really unfortunate how limited the options are in the Kanto region which makes trade evolutions a must to form a team with chemistry. That said, I went ahead and included traded pokemon anyway because it's not difficult to figure out how to trade with yourself on an emulator.

I think Nidoking's massive movepool is always really valuable to have, but moreso in RBY rather than FRLG. The fact that most Pokémon don't have good and varied movesets in gen 1 makes Nidoking incredible, whereas in gen 3 movesets still aren't great but they're much improved from gen 1 so Nidoking becomes less valuable.
Sidenote: It would be interesting to see how well Nidoking is able to perform in an XY playthrough considering that horde battles allow you to get Hidden Ability Pokémon easily, and Nidoran is available in hordes. Sheer Force Nidoking is a monster because of how powerful it can be. Then again Garchomp is available in XY so that probably just invalidates Nidoking.
Second sidenote: You keep talking about being able to access trade evolutions vanilla games in an emulator, but I've never known how to do that and as far as I know, most people don't. Most people just use the Universal Pokémon Randomiser to make trade evos available through normal playthrough methods instead of trading. It doesn't invalidate your choices that most people don't know how to do it, I would just like to know how so I can try it out in future playthroughs.

What all those best teams lack is the proper hm distribution. I mean its a part of the game play right? Nobe of the teams actually include the pokemon that could do well and use hms efficiently in the same time
    My proposition
    -Blastoise
    Nature:Modest
    Surf
    Waterfall
    Ice beam
    Bite (gen 2&3 speciall attack)
    -Fearow
    Nature:Adamant
    Fly
    Return
    Steel wing
    Drill peck
    -Raticate
    Nature:Adamant
    Cut(stab)
    Strenght(stab)
    Dig
Shadow Ball (physical in this gen)
    - Electrode
    Nature:Modest
    Thunder
    Rain dance
    Flash
    Thief
    - Marowak
    Item Thick Club
    Nature Carefull
    Bonemerang
    Rock smash
    False swipe
    Rock Slide
    -Gengar
    Nature Jolly
    Hypnosis
    Dream Eater
    Mean Look
    Confuse ray
This team has all the HM distributed properly as well as is equiped to catch pokemon even the legendary dogs covers all the basis battle wise and provides none linear playtrough as you need the cubone for lt surge and in the provess you can catch all the members before 3 badge.

The reason I do not factor in hms when creating a best team is that they contribute nothing to the actual battles (with the exception of surf and, sometimes, waterfall and strength) and you can go to the nearest pokemon center and switch out one of your members for an hm slave if you need to go to a specific place or use a particular hm, which takes a minute at the most. Also, you can teach hm moves to the main team before the elite 4, and then use the move deleter to get rid of them. Nonetheless, I appreciate the feedback, and if it turns out that many viewers share your sentiment, I will create another team that factors in hms.

@@DFuegoH cut has power of 50 after STAB on Ratticate its 75 thats the power of brick break one of better fighting moves you cannot say its bad. Not the best like body slam or return but in the gen that has limited amount of tms this can be use full plus if you use it on a pokemon like raticate with guts its even stronger.
I can tell you now people dont realize the true potential of hms after years of people like mistic umreon dumping shit on this mechanic. People are like a sheep they follow the influencers. Id be poketuber myself there is a tone of things id do differently than main stream poketubers but i dont have good presentation skills plus pokemon as a franchise has been dead for me since 7th gen arrived so there is limited content i could produce.

There is alternative to fearow later on being Dodrio with similar move set. It lacks few things like sweet scent for example but you cant have everything. In later games id definitely have on the team galade as it is the best false swipe user, status inflicter as it deals paralize and sleep depending on the opposite pokemons ability and has also mean look. It has also ability to learn tount agains roar users. So Galade has it all. However as for tjird gen thats the best team for kanto considering not only gyms but also catching mechanics as well as traversing mechanics. There are for sure better performance pokemon out there but its not just about power but the ultimate team for everybtask not just battling.

Hey man, great video. I love seeing team builders. Here’s the move set for my team.
      Venusaur
      Razor leaf
      Leech seed
      Sleep powder
      Giga drain
(You can substitute sludge bomb or earthquake for razor leaf if you want a little move coverage/offense)
      Golem
      Earthquake
      Rockslide
      Brick break
      Return
(You can sub in rock tomb if you want speed control but I use Golem primarily to sponge hits and throw out some big damage)
      Alakazam
      Psychic
Shadow ball (I know it’s still physical in this Gen but it’s still great against ghosts and other psychics)
      Recover
      Light screen/reflect/calm mind
(Standard special sweeper set. Use a few calm minds heal up with recover and go to town)
      Arcanine
      Bite/iron tail/body slam
      Flamethrower
      Extreme speed
      Fire blast
(I love Arcanine because you can go a lot of different directions with it as a good mixed attacker. You can keep bite for ghost/ psychic coverage or iron tail to deal with rock types or body slam for good neutral coverage. Then of course extreme speed for priority and fire blast if you need a little more punch than flamethrower)
      Lapras
      Surf
      Ice beam
      Psychic / body slam
      Toxic
(Lapras is a tank with some great coverage. You can solo a lot of trainers with the bolt/beam/surf combo but I have Tbolt on my last Pokémon you can sub between psychic and body slam depending on what you want. You can also get cheeky with toxic/rest but I go more offensive
      Magneton
      Thunderbolt
      Thunder wave
      Tri-attack
      Reflect/light screen
(Unfortunately not any real steel offense in earlier gems but the typing still makes an excellent pivot that can come out and start afflicting status ailments with either a thunder wave or tri attack. I also use the bulkiness as an opportunity to set up screens if necessary or if you want more offense you can just go for return or shockwave for perfect accuracy.
That’s it. Let me know what you think, or if you have any suggestions that might improve the move sets!

Ok another Venusaur fan that's fine. Golem slow and electric types aren't a problem in this game especially since you can catch lvl 25 dugtrio in digglet cave right next to surge but ok golem is the best rock type B4 elite four Alakazam is the best psychic short of mewtwo but if you're walking into Agatha low lvled and slower then gengar you want hypno but hypno is weak also you tank everything and you're really low lvl so maybe no Alakazam in this case but nothing really wrong with it chancy has no defence no attack and sp atk obv bad choice but all good teams need a tank and chancey fulfills that role gengar with haste is as fast as neutral Alakazam and you use him as a tank? One or the other not both you don't need psychic AND ghost that's wasting a space but gengar IS powerful and you make good use of curse and hypnosis, although this one, magnaton? Zapdos by far the best electric type and flying type Pokemon in the game but ok i can understand no legendaries ok so here's my team, Blastoise surf hydro Cannon earthquake blizzard or starmie psychic surf ice beam thunder bolt, Charizard over heat or fire blast dragon claw Arial ace earthquake, or Arcanine overheat extreme speed iron tail hyper beam you need a flying type and dodrio is a faster stronger Fearow, gotta have fly, drill peck return and agility/tri attack/thief/anything. Electric eevee is the second fastest Pokemon in the game thunder bolt thunder shock wave paralysis Alakazam with haste psychic ghost ball reflect what else and all good teams need a tank and i use all the tanks but my favorite by far is snorelax high health high sp def high atk shadow ball and sleep talk and destroy agatha or be more creative and whatever you tank the most he can probably use a tm against it eg ice beam vs dragons or surf vs Tyranitar fire blast i was able
My team focuses more on sacrificing then tanking use a weak Pokemon that'll get one hit in switch to their weakness strong atk to take them out and tank to potion and your highest lvl Pokemon should be tank as it's generally used the most and the stronger your tank the lower lvl you can be in elite four you don't have a bad team it's really good one of the best I've seen i was much more impressed with this then Nidoking which is a horrible recommendation no doubt really good job if you ever want to challenge yourself further beat the elite four with Blastoise and Zapdos or beat trainer tower with a decent lvl team

Not a rom user I take it? No need to worry there are other strong teams that don't use trade evolutions. They're just not the best team (as of now). Might create separate videos for those teams in the future.

But how do you trade when playing on a rom?

Most people are running on budget teams that don't require trading.... Find a team that is best from bare bones. If we are trading, then I'll just use all three starters. DUBBS
