Hello rosebuds! Hope you enjoy this little music video I made for Two Faced. I had a blast painting the neon backgrounds in this video - I felt like I was in art school :) If you haven't already, make sure to check out this song (and my new album) at the links above.
Here's the inspiration behind this song, in case you haven't read it yet:
I’ve tried to keep up appearances for the majority of my life. I never let my friends see me cry. I slap on a smile when I’m feeling awful. I’ve also practiced smiling in the mirror, just like the girl in that one freaky episode of Black Mirror.
After my breakup, I got tired of pretending. I realized that there was no point in acting like I was okay, and that no one was expecting me to. I also realized that you build stronger bonds with others when you’re honest about how you feel. Often times I still forget, and I end up hiding my emotions again. Living in a world dominated by social media challenges you to live authentically. I’m learning to unlearn the behaviors of my past, and instead be more open about my feelings.
This song is a representation of my old self. A brand new Rosendale is coming. I don’t know exactly when, but he’s coming. I promise.

This. Song made me cry I’ve been listening to it since it came out it hits so close. I practice smiling in the mirror and when ever I want to cry I just laugh it out I’m in a pretty bad place right now because how my parents have been treating me I’m so sick of there mental abuse doesn’t help I’ve attempted suicide like 6 times in the past month I don’t know what to do I’m so scared for what my parents are gonna do to me when I come out of the closet

After listening to this song a few times I’ve realized something (this is completely my opinion) but we all are almost a mirage of sorts we all are almost completely deferent people when no one is there or when we think no one is there this is something that I’ve noticed after being by my self for what has it been 2 and a half years now of almost complete isolation because of lockdown siting there for how ever long you realize that the people you know wouldn’t know who you are without seeing you face
