Bahati you inspired me to write gospel songs while I was still in highschool. I used to perform your songs in CU and Chirch services. I became famous in our region and my people supported me financially so as to come and record at EMB. I really wished to meet you and hopefuly get signed at EMB. Unfortunately I couldnt access you despite several attempts. Your secretary made me understand you are a big artist and its not easy to find. I kept my hopes to meet you one day and probably work together on a song. Later you shut down the label and its then my hopes for being part of a big organisation committed to spread the gospel and raise other young talented souls for the kingdom business were crippled. You then said you've quit the gospel. This made me doubt everything I believed as far as gospel is concerned. At that time I was also going through hard times that really tested my faith. I struggled with suicidal thoughts for many reasons among them not making it in the gospel music industry. God is merciful I was able to manage the depression even though it has taken time. During that time I wrote songs with bitterness, songs that are not gospel. I came back to this song Machozi because it is one of my favourite and was among the very first song that encouraged me and inspired me to be writting songs that testifies about God's love and gives hope to the hopeless.
I have never judged you for your decisions for I know there are variety of ways that God uses His people. However I will urge you to reconsider gospel music and the ministry that God put in you and also reestablish EMB record label to help more artists. Yes artists have disappointed you before but it should not make you shut out others who are genuine in the ministry. You still have a chance to put EMB gospel music ministry in the world map. I wish you all the best and to God will be the glory forever. Amen
