My dad grew up in Port Orchard and remembers having dog tags as a child. When I moved here in the 1980s and went to school in Tacoma, they were still testing the air raid sirens at noon on Wednesday. It surprised me, coming from Kansas, that is a tornado siren, and I should be moving! These pretend towns showed up all over the country. I think it is Virginia that still has one you can go see.
