Ailsa went off crying because of how bad this west end live was, no one could hear themselves and she started sounding scottish. This proves what it can do to people 💜

This performance of I say no absolutely does not do Ailsa justice! She is phenomenal and I don’t think the sound at west end live ever allows them to be their best self! In the theatre I honestly think she sounds like a totally different person! This isn’t a criticism of Ailsa, just went end lives sound!
with it being outside too. i remember it being windy on the day as well which isn’t that great either for performing outside especially with their awful sound system. she definitely sounds so much better in theatre
i love that they decided to do i say no! it’s my favourite song from the show! this also made me realise the difference in the song without the background singers

All the riffs are so powerful, my god, it is awesome. i love heathers the musical, so much everything from the choreography and the vocals to the sets songs costumes i love it with a big passion

AILSA! I've gone to see this show 3 times purely for how unbelievable Ailsa is as Veronica. One of the best on-stage voices I've ever heard and an incredible Veronica. INCREDIBLE.
I see her as Elphaba in Wicked in years to come! When she sings 'justify' it gives me No Good Deed vibes!!!

Ngl I hear some of Ailsas natural Scottish accent slipping through on this version but imma chalk it up to the awful sound they have at west end live with several performers every year saying they can’t hear themselves. I’ve watched her live twice and it’s never happened before!
yep. definitely to do with the sound. there was points in candy store too where the sound was a bit off and they were out of the music
haven’t seen her live, but she’s incredible on the bootleg i’ve got!! but yes, u can definitely hear her accent. i think it’s definitely bcs she can’t hear herself to check her american accent🤣

I’m sorry I’m really far behind on stuff but I’ve been watching videos on here for a while since I’ve never actually been to London but can someone please tell me when they started doing that song I say no? Like what year because I don’t remember that song at all. I’ve been listening to the American version so maybe that’s why?
I Say No was added when it had its London premiere in 2018 with Carrie Hope Fletcher. They also added in Never Shut Up Again for Heather Duke and exchanged Blue for You're Welcome - all of these new songs are on the West End album :)

there is no better quality, this is just how the sound is at west end live its awful and the actors can never hear themselves
@@raantaaro yeah when it first appeared it was all pixelated and sounded bad. It was fixed shortly after I made that comment

Alisa is my favourite Veronica. She has an incredible voice. I think in the performance of I say no she ways trying not to sound Scottish, so I Accidentally came out.

Okay but where is the Ensemble? Candy Store sounds so underwhelming without the Ensemble girls doing backup voices. a show is not only the leading actors...
It's probably because they have a show to do at 2 and this was at 12pm! They would all be getting ready for the matinee xx
@@amber4166 So it means that all of the leading actors that performed in WEL will be out in the Matinee performance? It sounds weird because it means that a lot of understudies will be on, and this production doesn't have any off-stage Swings (which is a big problem that a West End production wouldn't have any Swings 🙄).

@@osherratzabi6423 They rushed back for the performance as I follow them on their socials. If you think about Candy store, all the ensemble do is stand there? I guess if they were singing it'd make more sense but I suppose you don't need them all there especially if there's a show at 1

She's so much better in real life, I just saw her last week. I think it was the sound systems they have at West end live, and the fact that she was outside rather than in a theatre, so she was straining her voice trying to be loud enough. She is a phenomenal singer and this performance did not do her voice justice. I saw a comment saying the performers couldn't hear themselves sing through the mics as well.
I'm not sure about that take on I Say No...
The west end sound systems were bad, she couldn't hear herself and was fighting to be loud sadly.
This doesn’t do any of those justice the audio quality was terrible they are so good you can here them struggling to get the sound

No, it's not just you. West end live audio has always been really bad.
Everyone is talking about Alisa, who play Veronica, saying how truly amazing her voice is, but here there were mic problems ish. But why no one saying anything about Heathers? In particular the one who is playing Heather Chandler (red)? Am I the only one who thinks she is pretty terrible? I wanted to cut my ears when I heard her “high note” at the end. Plus she doesn’t give me Heather vibes at all…
She’s actually really good but they couldn’t hear themselves and the sound their was terrible it isn’t their fault.

West end live is really bad, they need to improve. The quality of the voices are bad due to the sound systems, it's outside, and no one can hear themselves. Also the microphones are really bad, performers fight to be heard. Many performers have complained about the horrible production of West End Live, either way the heathers cast did so good in such a troubling spot. Love to alissa!
This Heather Duke looks in no way like Shannon Doherty.
She's not meant to. They cast based of talent and it's not a requirement for her to look like her.
I like Alisa but in my opinion Carrie hope fletcher and may thether are better but Alisa is good still

dont get put off! this sounded weird asf on this recording but as someone who has seen this production multiple times, i promise you will not be dissapointed
What is going on with heather mcnamara skirt, I feel like it looks rlly weird with the outfit and doesn’t fit her character. Not only that it looks like it’d be rlly annoying to dance in
I don’t know if it’s the way this chick was playing Veronica, if it’s because stage performances like this aren’t conducive to showcasing acting, if it’s because the dude playing jd was giving her nothing to bounce off of, something else, or all of the above but this was a weird and awkward performance for me. Absolutely nothing against any of the performers but I didn’t like it
.the jd was off for over a week before this and was only back for his final 4 shows (being the day before). as well as this west end live is always awful with sound as they can never hear themselves as well as being outside possibly in the wind. they are so much better in person.

It's not her fault, she's normally a lot tamer she just can't hear herself so she's a lot louder than she meant to be
I never understand why they make Heather chandler dance full out when she’s the main singer. Her vocals suffer as a result.

What bothers me the most is not the singing but the fact the production keeps on casting actors that are clearly way... way older than the character they play. Age is very important when it comes to these stories. JD is supposed to be a troubled teen who makes bad choices and Veronica is supposed to be a naive manipulated girl. Seeing these characters being played by adults is so creepy. They're already adults. If they were teenagers or at least teenager-looking, you could understand that they might not know any better. It's easier to forgive them. But since they're played by adults, it looks live they're totally aware of what they're doing and deserve to go to jail.
Simon looks older than he normally does for some reason in this video! I think Ailsa looks really young tbh
