To describe The Analogues as a cover band of The Beatles is to belittle them and leave their work far below what it really is. It is the resuscitation of the beatle sound in its smallest detail. The only band that comes close to that feeling, but in a more rocker style is Yellow Matter Custard, a tribute to three huge musicians (Neal Morse, Mike Portnoy and Paul Gilbert) in a small New York club.
If we compare it to the original, yes it is, ringo's drumming is incomparable in any of the beatles songs But for real he's doing a very good job at playing beatles song
An even more brilliant example of this is in The Rutles movie - the best Beatles lampoon of all time. In their song 'Love Life" there is a bit at the end where they sing "Hold my hand, yeh, yeh". A lovely touch.
Brilliant! Nothing you can do can't be done! Exactly. You guys pulled of the Beatles with tremendous finesse. And to end on "She loves you yeah, yeah, yeah" is the perfect ending. You are my new Dutch favorite band... though I still like Golden Earring.
I am deeply shocked.......! How can anyone anywhere speaking of great Dutch bands NOT include the mighty FOCUS?! They are/were the finest musical export (of an original nature) from The Netherlands. However, the Analogues are unquestionably the finest COVER band to exist - anywhere!!

This was written by John for the Beatles satellite TV show back in 1967. I read somewhere that the producers of the show had asked the Beatles if it was possible to have them write a song to help close out the show. John volunteered to do it and with having said that, went off by himself and returned after about 90 minutes with this song.
I think John said it right in that song. I might be wrong but in the original recording George screwed up the solo. Which was kind of on purpose and faithfully reproduced by the Analogues. Well done....
