Preparing for Winter | Ep. 6

- This week a lot of things is going on, thats why this vlog came out a bit later than planned. But as you can see in the vlog, there is some exciting things that might happen and I just have had a hard time to focus. In the next vlog I will definitely tell you all about whats going on!
Oh, and btw, I accidentally deleted the WHOLE vlog when it was finished. So I had to spend some more hours making a new one haha. Ya, this week is a bit crazy. But things are good and finally I get to share some more glimpses from our last days.
Preparing for winter, a spontaneous roadtrip to the mountains and a normal Tuesday evening.
Ps. Hold your thumbs = Cross your fingers (in Swedish).
I was thinking that maybe other countries don't really use that. So I just wanted to explain what I meant :*

It's the swedish way of saying cross your fingers, a good luck thing.
Fun fact. In Sweden, to cross you fingers means what you're currently saying is a lie. I remember we used that alot as children. Holding your Thumb is "Hoping for the best"
We often say "Jag håller tummarna för dig" translated to "I will hold my thumbs for you"
Which basically means "I wish for you the best outcome"

It's funny to me, because back when I was a child people would tell stories of this paradise that was Sweden. The majority had never been, or knew what it really looked like. But tales of beautiful blonde ladies, and a landscape not unlike heaven itself. From what I've seen so far, the tales are true. Much love from England!

Haha I agree. I put my kids to bed and am having a decaf coffee while I watched the video. It is my little time to myself that I look so forward to. Watching her videos just puts me in a good place.
Totally agree! I actually love the vlogs so much I think about when the next one is going to come out, periodically, throughout the day. They're very pretty to look at, but Jonna is also so warm and sunny when she addresses her viewers, as if we were all her friends. She's also generous with her space, perhaps letting us glimpse more than most people would. And the vlogs are totally transporting if you live in a city. They fill a small void that being away from my own rural upbringing creates. Thank you Jonna for the truly delightful and very cozy world you let us into through your vlogs!
Most people want to have a life in LA where all the famous people live.... and here I am wanting just A simple life in a beautiful place like in this vlog 😍

I recently read the book “there’s no such thing as bad weather” by the Swedish author Linda Akeson McGurk and she mentions that Swedes say “shit” as not a curse word like it is here in the US. I think of that book when you say that. You are just so adorable and there are no words to express how much I love your work.

I live in a small town and 5 years ago i needed to move to a big city for studies. Now I finished them and could finally come back. I always felt very tired and lonely in the city, missing the silence and nature surrounding. I completely understand why you took the decision to move to your current place. (2:29) Maybe building a second frame around the outside of the greenhouse would solve having to dismantle it every year. The outer frame would be sturdy and you could screw a few pieces of plywood to it, so it would shed the snow. The glass stays where it is underneath, safe from any pressure. Sort of like storm windows over regular glass windows. Just a thought ?

We live in the country, we plated a metal pole in the ditch, we attatched a long pole to the road that swivels on the pole with a chain from the top of the ditch pole to almost the of the road pole where the mailbox now sits. When the the snow plow hits it, it just swings out of the way....all of our neighbors are jealous... 10 years, same mailbox...

I went to Alaska this summer (they have lots of snow there too) and their post boxes have big levers on them to lift them up for the snow plows and they are planted a good distance from the road so that the snow plow doesn’t run over them. Oh my that black dog in 1:56, it looks exactly like the dog my parents had. I grew up with her for 15 years. Her name was Sina, she was an hovawart. This reminds me so much of her.
