A 26-year-old cisgender man with HIV has a new clinic visit to establish care for HIV and start antiretroviral therapy. About 14 months ago, he started receiving long-acting injectable cabotegravir for HIV preexposure prophylaxis (PrEP). He stopped taking the injectable cabotegravir about 4 months ago and did not have any follow-up visits until a recent visit 3 days ago when he tested positive for HIV. The HIV genotypic drug resistance testing (standard resistance assay and integrase resistance assay) is pending.
