Skillet had been around since the mid 1990's. Their first album came out in 1996 and they've never stopped since. They released their 11th(!) album in 2022. There is only one original member of the band left, and that is John Cooper (lead vocals, bass guitar, acoustic guitar). John's wife, Korey Cooper (rhythm guitar, keyboards, synthesizers, backing vocals), joined in 1999. The current drummer, Jen Ledger, joined the band in 2008 when she was just 18! The current lead guitarist, Seth Morrison, joined in 2011. Skillet's sound had evolved over the years. You can check out the differences on songs like "Saturn" (1996), "Locked in a Cage" (1998), "More Faithful" (1998), "Best Kept Secret" (2000), "Kill Me, Heal Me" (2001), and "You Are My Hope" (2001) (Korey singing with John). From about 2003 onward, they pretty much found their sound, with songs like "Forsaken" (2003), "Savior" (2003), "Rebirthing" (2006) (feat Korey), and "Comatose" (2006). They vocally found their sound with the addition of Jen Ledger on songs like "Hero" (2009) (first single to feature Jen Ledger), "Rise" (2013), "Not Gonna Die" (2013), "I Want to Live" (2016), and "Legendary" (2019). Fun fact: Their fans are called Panheads.
This song is definitely in my top 5 favorite Skillet songs. #1 is probably Awake and Alive. Definitely check out Rebirthing, Comatose, and Save Me. Great reaction Biss!! ❤🔥👏👏
Yeah, the intro and Jen's drumming at one point during it are kind of jaw dropping. I had to listen to it a few times and went, 'no, she didn't just do that, did she?' I could see pulling that off on a number of takes in the studio, but live?!
YES!!! FINALLY!!! I've been pushing this song for so long, I love that this is the channel it showed up on. Thank you, my dear, you really made my day. I totally adore this song, and listen to it quite often, as you can probably tell from this post. Skillet has several fantastic songs, but this is my favorite. This is a band I could have over for Sunday BBQ and have a blast with. You're invited, too, of course!
John the vocalist and Seth the guitarist have a heavier band called fight the fury. Jen Ledger the drummer also has a great side project called Ledger. Both are worth checking out.
I'm not really sure, but the woman with the fan MIGHT have been a Japanese betsushikime - a Shinto shrine-maiden/assassin trained in the arts of ninjutsu and kunoichi-jutsu (as, essentially, a ninja sex-assassin), as well as (according to certain lore) various forms of onmyudo (Japanese sorcery, magic), possibly even Khobudera (ninja sorcery; which, ironically, is actually forbidden among most ninja-ryu, with the exception of those who practice kan-aku-na-ninjutsu ("black" ninjutsu, philosophically considered "evil" in that it is unbalanced and chaotic - although, from what I understand, there were actual ryu who had turned TRULY evil, worshipping daemonic forces whom they believed to be the Lady Izanami, Queen of Yomi, and the daemons she had birthed, such as the oni and the Yomatsushikome (Hell-hags, also known as Furies).
feel invincible, sick of it, back from the dead, circus for a psycho, rise, hero, never surrender, not gonna die, whispers in the dark, comatose, one day to late, it's not me it's you, the last night, those nights
@BisscuteReacts actually the only vid I see if this now isn't great quality. Sorry! Maybe just check out the lyric video they have on their channel. It's a banger and Pau sings the verses 🤟
I like this type of videos...dark..pop rock rustic metal...in my opinion..I like videos whith energy...I liked the zamuray...the secando voice of the wonderful drummer...great reaction biss...thanks you...🤘🤘✌️✌️
Yep, Biss this is your Ruska Roma walk out or theme song.👍 I could see you using a Samurai sword instead of the knives that John wick and others use. Got to have that advantage right? 😁❤
Really enjoyed your reaction and it is a very catchy song, and one that definitely I could do energetic activity with. Not sure it would replace coffee though, lol.
Really need to check out Legendary, Not Gonna Die, Finish Line, Back to Life. Some other good ones are Standing in the Storm, Forever or the End (more ballad type between John and Jen), Whispers in the Dark...Sick of It: live at Volt Fest...there's really just so many. Check out John and Seth's side project Fight the Fury, and Jen's Ledger project.
love this song, loved the video, loved the reaction. If you liked this song then Ireconmend listening to Sick of it, Not Gonna Die, Burn it Down, Out of Hell, Rebirthing, Whispers in the Dark, Lengendary and Psycho in my Head. They're all really good songs by Skillet
Skillet is awesome another band u can also check out Eyes Wide Open by KITTIE an all female death metal band from Canada the lead singer & drummer are sisters & the drummer Mercedes does backing vocals from time to time. Monster is their best song imo but feel invincible is definitely a banger i havent heard Skillet in years tbh but love them. Hope ur day is as beautiful as u are Biss much luv from America ❤❤❤
Hello Bisscute, you know? I'm starting to think that I'm going to be permanently indebted to you, since once again you bring another band that I didn't know or have heard, maybe it's because I'm not English speaking and I'm not very aware of each band. Anyway, having said the above, I want to say that I really liked Skillet and his interpretation of Feel Invincible, which transmitted a lot of strength to me both musically and lyrically, full of passion and energy. The message of the lyrics could not be better, about overcoming challenges and the inner strength that one can find in the face of adversity, something that is very recurrent in several bands and songs that you present. John Cooper's main voice seemed very passionate to me, because of the way he interprets the lyrics I felt that it reinforced the intensity of the song's message. Very good reaction Bisscute. In case you dare to listen to music in Spanish, I suggest the band Panteón Rococó with the song Vendedora de caricias (en vivo). Greetings from Mexico City.
I believe Biss fav Skillet song is "Awake & Alive" 💜🍪. Maybe the message behind the music will hit different now that Skillet has been outed ✝️ It's clear if you understand what your listening for but is subtle enough to crossover and be relatable to anyone and the music is just good. I'd describe Skillet more as a band of Christians that make good music with Christian themes and motifs. Many "Christian bands" are just not very good tbf and this is coming from a Christian.
You gotta react to every Skillet song there the best love them . There proof Christian bands can be cool. And ther messages have awesome uplifting vibes and there badass.
Biss I've got a band for you that is opposite of Christian bands... Cradle of Filth... They have a song that you would enjoy. It goes by "Nymphetamine (fix)." Maybe keep it in mind it really is an awesome song. Rock on Ms. Biss.🤘👍
Hey Biss! On a related side, the drummer - Jen Ledger - has her own side band, just called "Ledger". Check out her single, "Not Dead Yet". Rock on! 🤘😎👍
Yes, they're Christian, but they definitely have mass appeal because they more aim to bring a message of hope vs preaching. Really need to check out Legendary (similar to Invincible but a little harder I think), Not Gonna Die, Finish Line, Back to Life. Some other good ones are Standing in the Storm, Forever or the End (more ballad type between John and Jen), Whispers in the Dark...Sick of It: live at Volt Fest...there's really just so many. Check out John and Seth's side project Fight the Fury, and Jen's Ledger project.
Skillets a phenomenal band. Gunna throw a rabbit hole your way. Try Imminence for me 🙏 if you like Bad Omens and Sleep Token I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised
Hi biss I have a song request. It's from. A band called "player." It was done in the mid-seventies. And it's called "baby come back." The singer was on a soap opera too. I think you'll like it. I don't wanna go on too long. But people. Still love this song.ill give you a few comment from just one sight to convince you to play it, it had 4.1k on just this one sight one person said "This music is priceless. It will never come back". And one more said "This song is excellent. The message is crystal clear. ". I was wrong and I just can't live without. A girl would have to be heartless. Do not give a guy another chance. Our world, today is really cold Compared to how the 70s had been. Well biss this song's really well done I hope you play one of my requests some day i know your really swamped with things to do take care of your self❤😊
I am not certain, but I think I have heard that skillet prefers not to be categorized as a Christian Alternative Rock band. They consider themselves to be a Spiritual Alternative Rock Band. My current fav from skillet is everything goes black .
One of the videos you reacted to before they started off by talking about Jesus. You must have just missed it, but it was the last live video you did with them.
Looks like 'Awake and Alive' is a favourite of many, including me. But, I'll pick a different one in hopes you check it out ;) 'I Want To Live' It is just so Skillet... it has a bit of everything I (and many) love about their songs. The official version is audio only, so here is a version a fan made with the studio audio, but with tour footage. ruclips.net/video/XPaSLqBpkh0/видео.html

The drummer is Jen Ledger. She has at least 1 solo album & she goes by Ledger.
This song is the opener for their concerts.
John Cooper the singer did a lot of pop when he was younger.
Hello Biss you know I'm down for more of your content 👏I love Skillet❤

Great song by a great band. I always love when Jen sings in their songs.
