I wish she talked more about how women treat each other. There is so much toxicity among women - jealousy, backstabbing/backbiting, slander, etc. Some of the worst things done to women are carried out by other women

Subhaana Allah, EXACTLY why I tuned in. So so so true what you've said. We've all come across such women and I even wonder if it's not our BIGGEST problem.
Well, if she didn't discuss this then I may as well go back to my listening to Surat Al Baqarah.
I was hoping for some concrete solutions in dealing with the subjects you mentioned.
Jazakee Allahu khairan dear sister ❤️❤️❤️

@@wuw385 Wa iyiaki dear sister, jazak Allah khayir to you as well for your comment. I was also hoping for some practical solutions, especially when it happens in Muslim communities. I think that’s a greater threat to our youngsters than feminist ideology. It pushes them away from the community which sadly makes them more susceptible to contemporary feminism and the like

There is no instant solution for this, as I understand it. But I have noticed impressive amazing transformation among women who end up in circles of knowledge..It takes time . @@wuw385

    Done with the talk.
As an American Muslim women, I've heard talks like this before.
I'm not sure how it relates to me as a practicing Muslim woman.
Most of the grievances Muslim women have are legitimate imo. They are oppressed and suppressed in our community, although improvements are occurring, albeit slowly, at least within our physical institutions.
I agree that resorting to feminism is not correct, but we have issues even when we try to exercise our rights in an Islamic context.
The problem is that cultural preoccupation seems overcast Islamic considerations, therefore creating the denial of rights.
Thus I feel like the toxic femininity argument is a distraction from the real issue of women reacting/challenging and attempting to change to the denial of rights, usually by men.

@@abdulbarikhan2049 No doubt there is true info. that is helpful to know, but there were no action steps given on how women are supposed to act on the info. A distinction needs to be drawn between the realities of Muslim women and the realities of non-Muslim women in the West. Our concerns and issues are different. We also need to ask ourselves if this is really a priority for Muslim women right now. I personally don't think so. I can think of 5 or 6 issues off the top of my head that Muslim women care about and need to be addressed, not only for themselves but for the sake of their families.

So we women should cater everything so men can be like men. I agree a lot of it. But men who don't work will never work whether women earn or not. I have seen it in rural villages in our country. Men gamble and lost all that he earn and women with children left with nothing. So women for survival they have to work whether they like it or not. I am not criticising the scholar. But we immigrant muslims who live in western world , live in those country because of their better economy and they didn't achieve it without women not working or contributing. Islam never prohibited women working. Just ask your grand mother about her era, how women were treated back then. Live in a third world misogynist country then you will understand what is a woman's worth. I agree what feminism preach is not all perfect but toxic feminism is the result of toxic masculinity.

Agreed, not sure exactly what is the ask of Muslim women? Still watching the video and there were a lot of stats about abortion, single parent hood, among other topics given about non-Muslims, but as Muslims, we are not engaging in those activities (en masse, at least), so how exactly is it a problem, or an epidemic of toxic femininity in the Muslim community? Also how are the choices of men my fault as a woman? Where is the "toxicity" I as a Muslim women am engaging in?
I think this talk would have been better titled, "The Pitfalls of Western Society", not toxic femininity.

There is actually an officla definition of toxic femininity:
"Toxic femininity can describe any instance when women are either explicitly told to conform to traditional stereotypes or attempt to align with those stereotypes themselves, according to licensed therapist Meaghan Rice, PsyD, LPC.
