There was an article with Zack Snyder the maker of Rebel Moon. He was implying, days before the Netflix release, that people should await for the Zack Snyder cut of Rebel Moon which is supposed to be significantly longer. Why wouldn't Netflix release the longer version, the better version first? Why release the inferior version first?
My personal conspiracy theory on this is that they saw the snyder cut of Justice League and wanted to get some of that hype here as well, but they fucked it up by talking about it beforehand so now no one wants to watch the movie when they know a supposedly better version is coming anyway.

also, for what it's worth, i liked rebel moon more than army of the dead if only because it annoyed me less because it didn't introduce what could be interesting concepts to immediately forget about them 10 minutes later... safe to say grave of the fireflies is much better haha.
Maybe the 4 hour cut will be the masterpiece we were promised.
