And the emotional projection of a 12 year old girl. It’s hard to know where she pulls from to interpret a song of profound heartbreak. But as usual she nails it.

I can't overstate how important it is to realize that Angelina's being rooted in jazz, just allows her to inflect in ways that a non-jazz singer just can't do. What it produces is an amount of passionate releases that incorporate Billie Holiday and Amy Winehouse sound emitting elements that just electrifies the inner soul. No other artist does this to me when it comes to singing ballads.
Angelina has covered Adele more than any other artist she covers, and she nails it every time. One of my personal favorites of her Adele covers is "Make You Feel My Love" (on her cover channel). This just shows that the same song can be sung in different ways. We are all individuals and our emotions are individual. Adele sang this as a powerful love song. This performance was more of an afterthought, reflecting in her own time. For a 13 year old to have a grasp of this sort of emotion is amazing.

This time we didn't hear the powerhouse vocals that initially got us hooked on Angelina, and we were probably waiting for. BUT what we did hear was her just as amazing soft and melancholy sad voice that gives us a totally different vibe, one that matches the feelings which the lyrics are talking about. Angelina has proven again that she can sing, knows how to make a song her own, and gives us something different and unexpected every time. Royce, I saw that you were waiting for those Adele high moments in the song, but in the end you appreciated the spin Angelina put on it, maybe a little jazzy, bluesy? How is a 13 year old able to interpret the emotion of this song? Adele lived her songs and wrote and performed from experience. It's magical how Angelina sings with so much feeling and knowledge of not just the words and melody but the meaning of the composition.
Like every other Adele song she covered, along with every Amy Winehouse song, and probably a few others, I never heard the songs until Angelina sang them. I've gone back to check a couple of the originals, and couldn't get half way through them. They just seemed 'bland' to me. (Valerie by Amy, All I Ask by Adele, and Whitney Houston/Mariah Carey When You Believe) In my opinion, these are all Angelina's songs, and not covers. I've seen a lot of singers in my 66 years, but this young lady owns every song she sings.

Someone who wants to get a name for his or herself makes a minor tweak and usually makes things sound muffled. AJ is utterly brilliant at covering Adele songs. Note: The audio for this video might say that it is "enhanced" but it isn't. Someone who wants to get a name for his or herself makes a minor tweak and usually makes things sound muffled. There are better audio versions of this, much like the original video Angelina gave us of Etta James' "I'd rather go Blind", which sounds like she is singing inside a cardboard box now.
