The trust works on many levels. A free press is there to make sure that corruption is found and prosecuted. The free press should have been mentioned in this video, because it is fundamental for enlightened citizens and voters. Free speech is another prinicple that is foundational.

In Norway, Sweden and Finland people have been living very remotely. Each society (others will say village) had to cooperate and solve all problems themselves thru centuries. I do not use village about old Scandinavian societies because I regard a village as a lot of people living in small urban areas. On the countryside in Sweden, Norway and Finland there where no urban areas. Peoples were living on farms spread around. But still they were dependent on each other in the community. The church was the center in in the community.
