I've had scoliosis 40 years, with several major surgeries and had a fall when a chair fell backwards from under me as I sat down once. As a result I have SI dysfunction as well as lower disc degeneration. What is that burning pain when I stand for longer than a few minutes? Is it muscle or bone? It mostly disappears when I sit back down, leaving just a low level burn. What's the solution? More exercise, or less?

The exercises help a lot!

My left SI Joint slips, and my left sartorius muscle really suffers from it. I usually have to stretch it out. Sometimes the SI Joint will go back into position.

2:58 Just gotta say this was the only thing that has ever worked on my back pain. Physio, massage, chiro all kinda worked and some things I know made it much worse. I always felt something wasn’t lined up right. It took a month of doing a few of these on both legs a bed time to get things back to normal. Now I’m more active and am building strength. I do this almost every night. Most times not much of a stretch and that’s a good thing. However I can usually catch it before it gets bad.

  • @catitude4

I'll try the stretch. I do the foot dangle off the bed before I get up in the morning.

Yep I have this after 8 months of misdiagnosis, MRIs and physio appointments. My problem is not just the pain but it’s irritating the nerves the branch off into my lower leg and foot. My pain is on the outer hip/buttock region but it always starts at the SI joint and then travels down.

Have you ever had a patient who was paralized from the waist down and was in excrutiating pain when pulled up to a standing position?
I didn't have an injury and felt fine when I went to bed but, I woke up, I was paralized until an EMT helped me get up.
    I was diagnosed with sciatica.
My researching has not found any indications toward sciatica causing temporary paralisis but, a pinched nerve can.
Any suggestions for self help if this happens again?
A toradol shot at the e.r. wasn't worth the ambulance cost.

I discovered by mistake that sleeping on my recliner eliminated all my lower back aches. I would wake up with backaches 9 of 10 times from sleeping in bed then one day i fell asleep watching tv and woke
Up Next morning no pain so i try again and again and never back pain again until vacation and forced to sleep on a flat bed. The recliner changed my life.
