Great idea about the blokes also singing the first verse of the song. It sounds so much better. Also, during away matches I reckon it’d be great to sing the song out on the ground at the boundary in front of our supporters instead of back in the quiet rooms. I great recognition for the interstate supporters.

I’m in my mid 60s and don’t really listen to podcast, but “Better Down Back” is a hoot. I think it could rival “The Footy Show” back in the 80s and 90s. But my suggestion for Youngy’s nick name is “Speed”. Cause he reminds me of Keanu Reeves, when he has his hair tied back. So perhaps that has some context behind the name. Great episode. Cheers.

Would it be possible to entice Nathan Wilson on to talk about his transition from AFL to WAFL and how he maintains contact with the Freo players....
The girls do the song so much better, the guys could definitely take a lesson from them and sing it the same way. The verse first is such a great build up rather than just repeating the chorus twice
Plenty of times the satanic demons have gone against Freo in those win or lose situations . Take it and glorious in the wins like that !
In terms of nicknames, I reckon Jordan Clark should be Clackers.

Love the Podcast! Clarky and Drisco are a great combination. My only complaint though is that this promises to be a podcast celebrating defenders, yet we haven't had a single defender on as a guest. Hopefully that changes next week! Go Freo!
Happy to have discovered this podcast. Hearing the players voices is interesting. And learning about them and their personalities is informative. How would Youngie like to be called Oldie? Golden Oldie (being blond) could morph into Goldie.
Also Youngy saying he's not keen on Squid should mean it definitely stays as Squid

Funny hearing the voice memo about the headband, I was thinking the exact same thing after the game. Feels like a good omen if Ears gets his head split open haha.
