I don't think he's arrogant but he really has a strong personality this is how a lot of guys in the states behave and yeah it's just the culture and the way he was raised, same with Yeng's opinion I hope he can work on his personality more. Filipinos are more into humble guys and we find it more appealing but still he's so attractive and has a good voice, damn that jawline is a work of art.

In terms of Singing Niel can harmonize them all if someone gets out of tune Niel easily fix it , Russel sometimes goes of of tune Niel does not ... He is born and raised in the states but his mom and dad is from the Philippines, both full blooded pinoy who are born and raised in Camiguin(dad) and Cagayan de Oro City(mom). And to the people who are saying he is arrogant, you guys are wrong. He is actually a very cool and kind kid. I have met and talk with him in person, he is really nice and well disciplined.

I've met a lot of people who arrives like this but are actually sweet and loving, and he seems respectful which is a big opposite of rudeness and arrogance... Humility is a gift... some appears to be but they really aren't... the moment you think you are humble, that's the time you lose it... rare rare gift... with the people comparing him to Niel, based on the middle rounds, Niel showed some negativity which made his groupmates drew away from him instead of closer... Niel too has a good voice... but who knows... this is a show, where things can be twisted and manipulate viewers... so just slow down with judgment guys... lets give them chances to prove themselves worthy to be part of the show...
I actually remembered Taecyeon of 2pm(k-boy band) from Russell. He was also very confident of himself to the point that people just laughed at him and his 'arrogance' towards the judges. Maybe that was just him being from the states. They were both so confident yet later on found to be really sweet, bubbly, caring, kind, etc. I love both as artists. Theyareso passionate. 😉

As a Filipino-American, it's a shame that we are ultimately judged by our own native people. As much as we would like to learn about our culture through first hand experience, it can be extremely expensive to visit the country. He wants to learn more about his culture and I believe he should be given a chance! The Philippines is known to American music artists because of the warmth of the Filipino people, but why is that when one of their own comes to visit people assume the worst before even getting to know him or her.
I just cant get over why Vice,yeng and dara didn't comment about his talent and straight go up with the language he speak ! russell is underrated of that moment. I think what he did is to overcome his nervousness by sounding a bit cocky... but after he was stopped by Aga he rattled and sounded too weak. I still like it, because he sounded too well on the middle rounds... I hope he could make it, I really like his jaw line...

I don't really think that it was fair that they tried to judge him if he qualifies to be a Pinoy boy band superstar candidate based on his ability to speak the language. He's still a Filipino who just happened to grow up in a foreign land. He can definitely learn to speak the language more, but he can already comprehend it, which is a good basis. Also, keep in mind that the other qualifications he has to be considered in are talent, determination, and appearance. In my opinion, he looked pretty determined to work on his lacking parts but other than that, he definitely deserves the chance to be taken into the show.
Watching this again, grabe, dapat dito palang, nakita na ng tao na magaling talaga siyang kumanta at maganda talaga ang timbre ng boses niya. Nakakainis lang talaga yung pinatigil siya ni Aga in the middle of singing. Geez, let the guy sing, he's doing a heck of a job. But anyways, ngayon he's a frontrunner in the competition na. I don't really think that it was fair that they tried to judge him if he qualifies to be a Pinoy boy band superstar candidate based on his ability to speak the language. He's still a Filipino who just happened to grow up in a foreign land. He can definitely learn to speak the language more, but he can already comprehend it, which is a good basis. Also, keep in mind that the other qualifications he has to be considered in are talent, determination, and appearance. In my opinion, he looked pretty determined to work on his lacking parts but other than that, he definitely deserves the chance to be taken into the show.
