- This could very well be the best monitor on the scene currently. But not without its cost, literally. It is an expensive boy, for sure.

A seperate monitor makes more sense than a all in one Screen/PC, that PC hardware will age fast in a few years but the monitor can last for decades.
Plus if there are issues in the machine we won't be able to use the monitor too.

This seems ideal to do coding, word processing, or anything where color accuracy or refresh rate isn't the top priority.
i would gladly switch to a light theme for this one. i just didn't know how i wanted this
I love that this is an actual thing that you can get now. I think it deserved a more comprehensive review though, showing how it would work in detail for web browsing, RUclips videos, word processing for authors and journalists etc.
The price doesn’t seem that crazy to me. Considering how beneficial it will be for people staring at these screens all day long, I’d say it would be worth every penny to those individuals.
I originally backed this when it first launched, but I withdrew my backing when I thought my company was going through a layoff period. I survived, so it's nice to see that the price isn't drastically different than the kickstarter/indigogo price. Thanks for the review, this might be the one!
A question about eink. If you had a large screen with a large pixel count, could you sacrifice your resolution for higher color count? (Like) Grouping 4 or 9 pixels together that had slightly different shade of a color to create the illusion of a shade that the eink screen can't create. Just a thought.

Yes, we covered that in the video. We showed a dedicated section on the light off
No word on power consumption? It might be interesting for signage applications if it could turn on briefly every new and then to update the display.
This monitor on battery would be something to consider as a musician
How slow is the mouse cursor movement?
Is this the whole review? You regularly do 10-15 min deep dives into specific e-reader/notetaker functionalities; it would be nice to see exactly how this looks on different devices, OSs and programs for example, or how well it works as a bigger screen for a regular e-ink tablet (which would seem like the perfect e-ink alternative to a traditional laptop-to-monitor docking situation).
Yes, this is a monitor, it is a passive device with no operating system, no installable applications, no ecosystem, and not much else it has to offer.

The same as looking at anything else for 12 hours. The pixels are solid-state, not a screen, so it doesn’t emit harsh flickering light, it’s way easier on the eyes. The pixels also don’t use power to stay in, which is cool
One day, I think I could consider eink screen for writing. As a secondary screen. If I'm going to be writing (typing) for a long period of time, it might might since to have an eink screen.

How come is it scrolling throw youtube so fast? But typing goes throw delay. Something doesnt fit to one Another.
But i want to believe eink monitors are a short distance future.

Let's be real. The demo video has super minimal movement for a reason. The dithering effect with the limited color values makes them look much better than what Dasung offers. But the refreshrate is inferior. For sure.
Can you just plug in a macbook pro and it works like a normal monitor'?

Yes you can put in other HDMI streams, tablets, computers, laptops, macbooks, chromebooks, etc, but it's too much to cover in one review.

I have a bigme tablet. I watch my academic lectures and animated cartoon shows on it but it is not suitable for watching movies where people and surroundings change in each frame.

Hello. I bought this monitor, and it turned out to be defective, they delivered it to me from China to Germany, after I unpacked it I saw that the monitor leg was damaged, Well, this is a trifle compared to the fact that the monitor turns the backlight on and off on its own and switches it periodically modes, and turns the sound on and off, and I hate you personally because you advertised this monitor, after which I bought it, and now I don’t know what to do with it. The support service sent me a new firmware, after the firmware a new word appeared on the monitor that “no power” when it was turned off and that’s it, nothing in the operation of the monitor changed, it didn’t work normally and still doesn’t work!
The refresh rate seems disappointing to me
Its not at all suitable for watching videos, movies and video editing where color accuracy or refresh rate is a priority but ideal for web browsing, coding etc.
Review is pretty bad, not a single shot of someone typing with the monitor visible, so I have no idea how responsive it is.
