Bucky was subconsciously fighting his programming during the entirety of this tussle. Bucky is a seasoned sharpshooter & he failed to take the multiple headshot opportunities he had. He failed to destroy the computer chip as well. Crushing it would have been so easy.
It's also highlighted by the music. As soon as Steve starts talking, we can hear screams

2:02 just shows you how much of a beast Winter Soldier Bucky was. This man got his arm broken, screamed out briefly, and immediately got back into the game. He didn't even drop what was in his hand until he was passed out. Credit to both of these old men. They took blows from each other that would immediately kill a normal human. If Cap didn't break Bucky's arm, this fight would've lasted all day. I would've paid good money to see it.

Cap picking up Bucky was such an awesome scene.
That vacant look in Bucky's eyes when Cap first runs down the platform. He is just standing there totally silent waiting for Cap, and Bucky doesnt even move until Cap throws the shield at him. This scene really speaks to what Bucky has been through, when even the pain of Cap breaking his arm didnt make him drop the chip and didnt end the fight. This scene is so painful. When Cap says "please dont make me do this" you can hear the pain in his voice, he does not want to fight Bucky.

What i really find interesting about this fight is that despite all the brainwashing and reprogramming Bucky still remembers and finds counter actions to Steve's fighting style. He knows what he's gonna do and how to stop it

They don't need to teach him how to fight specific people, just how to fight efficiently. HYDRA never trained him to fight Steve Rogers because Steve was under the ice. Yet, Bucky was able to match his style. That comes down to training.

There will never be a day where I’m not impressed with how good the fight choreography was in The Winter Soldier, absolutely stunning fight visuals.

That small clip at 00:42 where we see Bucky charging with the knife is probably the scariest winter soldier clip ever. That look on his face is pure murder

Yeah but cap is stronger
the one in tfatws is weakened so bad. He could barely put up a good fight with Walker and got kicked about as if he isn't the most deadliest assassin-soldier that even Stevee struggled against. Bucky could barely stop the shield in the fight with John, and yet here we see him evenly counter Steve's attempt, and even deflect it easily with one punch. In tfatw he get's knocked out with one hit from the shield... ridiculous.
This is probably why I appreciate Bucky more as an antagonist. When a bad guy turns good, he's automatically nerfed after that.
@@GoldenRayLight yeah but steve didn't struggle against winter soldier .... WS put up a good fight in the highway fight scene and after that steve was holding back cause that was his friend ..... And walker here is highly skilled fighter he did some good feats before the serum but now he's got the serum and he is a super soldier too .....
@@kalyan7607 Steve never held back against Bucky in the highway fight because Steve didn't even realise it was Bucky until the very end. You can see in that fight, Steve was taken off-guard by how skilled he was, and it took him a while to find the Winter Soldier's weak point.
Although Walker is a skilled soldier, his experience and skill-set no where near comapres to Bucky's. Point is, Bucky should have been able to put up a better fight. With Steve, he easily deflected/caught the shield when it was used againt him, yet he struggled against Walker like he was a newbie.

Yes. Cap is definitely holding back. Bucky is getting triggered. Steve is wearing the old suit and he keeps trying to talk Bucky down. Somewhere in his brain Winter Soldier is holding back. They are still fighting though. Bucky is a good shot. He could have aimed for Steve's face or neck instead of the leg, hand and back. The writers knew what they were doing.

Just noticed this in rewatching the movie… 2:02 steve dislocates or breaks Bucky’s arm. He holds it weird the rest of the scene and shoots with his left hand even though we know he’s right handed
Which is why when he walked away from Steve at the end he was holding it like it hurt..
@@IMNTV I don't know how Bucky was able to swim and pull Steve out of the river with that broken arm. Bucky/Winter Soldier does not give a crap about pain. He's been tortured for too long, he just keeps on going. The look on Bucky's face too when he made sure Steve was breathing. These two guys!! The friendship. The violence. These writers. It's like the writers wanted the fights to be just as powerful as the friendship/love as best friends. We get writers. We get it.

Everybody is talking about how much it must've hurt for buck to carry cap out of the lake with a dislocated shoulder but Everybody forgot to mention the fact that cap got shot 3 times stabbed once and got dropped in a lake. Talk about pain

One of the Super Soldier Serum habilities is healing factor, its not wolwerine or deadpool level but strong enough to make the user recover quikly from broken bones,gunshots wounds (not fatal ones) and other types of damages that a normal humans would take months or years to completely heal.
By the time they arribed to the shore Bucky and Steve were injured but already healing.

Honestly, after both fights, you can't tell me that Bucky isn't on par with Steve, like literally Cap had to attack Bucky while he was distracted by the chip, to just take him down, sure if the fight continued, Cap could have won, but it still took Cap using a weak point to even stop Bucky
Cap was clearly holding back here. Compare this fight with their highway fight. In their highway fight, when Cap didn’t know WS was Bucky, he got in more hits. Here he knows it’s Bucky and is holding himself back from really hurting him.

You see in ther first fight,Bucky was indeed trying to kill Steve and unlike the aftermath of that fight Bucky had yet to remember who he or even Steve were so it was straight up "The Winter Soldier" vs Captain America.

I enjoyed this fight scene even steve that had to fight bucky to snap him out of it when he was possessed by evil intentions and demons of hydra experimentations on his brain to brain wash him.That was hard snapping him out of it but it was a good thing cap did out of love for saving his best friend.Some thing i would do.

Strength is comparable. Just my opinion but Cap is supposed to be the good guy here. Winter Soldier is still the brain washed, unstable, villain. We all know Winter Soldier is a victim, but Cap needed to win. Cap is supposed to win because he's the "hero" and Bucky is the badass, victim /villain who needs to be knocked out and treated for PTSD. I think both characters are getting triggered. But strength....equal. Steve has the heart. Winter Soldier does not care, he'll shoot innocents. TFATWS Bucky is so traumatized, he's going to need help to get himself back into fighting mode. Dude needs to protect himself better than what he was doing in TFATWS.

Movies always confuse me when people get shot. It always seems like the bullet is in a place that doesn't make sense from the angles of the shooter/victim. Steve has so much more muscle mass in other parameters they should have been equal
