----- Johann "Badkoi" Chua -----
I've been playing pool 25 + years and I'm a pretty good player. This is what I love about this game, you never stop learning. It's fascinating to see him draw the ball with such ease. From the moment where his back hand starts to where it ends at the butt end of the cue. My draw show seriously needs more practice and will implement this technique. Thanks for the tip Johann Chua
Galing champ.
Nice job. I think this is the best video I've seen on draw shots. IMHO, the most important aspect of executing a good draw shot is the loose grip on the cue, and Johann takes that to the ultimate extreme here as he's literally throwing his cue at the ball. I've had experts tell me the most important thing is an accelerating stroke, but if the cue is really thrown before impact then it's not accelerating anymore....Anyway I believe the most important thing is for that cue to be able to "ring" off the ball....that resonance from the cue is the direct result of the pure transfer of energy with minimal damping from your bridge hand or your grip. You just need to make as pure a hit as possible and get your cue traveling straight and float it thru there with the absolute mimimum of damping. That's how you get action on the cue ball whether is for a draw shot or any shot, really.
After practicing the draw shot for over a year and watching numerous videos I have finally find the missing element thanks to you, Great Job
Unusual creative and effective technique. The sliding of the cue supports the loose grip. Drawing back's secret is the loose hand.
That is the first I have heard of the slip stroke for draw, thank goodness for subtitles
Ditto on the been playing a long time and play decent. I’m a student of the game and I have never heard a BETTER EXPLANATION of draw technique explained in my life! Now do it in English and r subscribers will skyrocket amongst the pool student community. Thx for the gr8 leason
Wow, I have never seen this technique and I have been around pool for 35 years. I am going to try it today!
Excellent form with no elbow drop.

More tips pa champ and GOD BLESS
Thank you po 🔥
Nice tutorial idol! Ayos ah. Napansin mo comment ko last vid haha
Isa p content is, isa s pinakamahirap s bilyar at pinaka importante lalo n s pro, ay tips for breaking on 9 balls and/or 10 balls. Side spin, top spin, upper right/left, lower right/left(eto yata ung sinasabi s commentating s ibang bansa n "english"). Also kung san b type n shot eto ginagamit n mga cueball spins. Salamat idol!
Thank you po. Gawin ko po yan soon. Thanks sa idea God Bless

Slip stroke pala gamit mo idol pag gentle draw shot..hindi lahat kaya yan kc it requires precise and well-coordinated movements (or non-movement) ng braso and wrist(pulso). Ayos!! 😎😎😎
Congratulations on starting your channel. I am in Raleigh North Carolina. I don’t speak Tagalog

Hehe Thank you din! :)
Mya brektime ko panuurin.!!!! 😁
Hehehehe thanks
are Philippines players using "aiming without among kind of system" while stroking the ball? I find it helpful and makes it to do the draw shot easily. I dont know im just thinking if we just pull and push the ball through without imagining something is just really difficult. Maybe you can share the actual tips champ!😃
Well said Champ Jo! Very helpful tip. 😁
Galing master
Ngayon ko Lang nalaman Yan idol😲
Hehehehehe thanks. Subukan mo na malay mo mag work din sayo.
Saktong sakto yong tutorial mo champ! Yon kasi nahihirapan ko, lalo na yung long draw shot, di masyado umaatras. Susubukan ko yan. Thanks champ and God bless

Ok champ!
Thank you! Your previous video of jump instructions was excellent and helped me learn how to consistently get the ball in the air for close and more distance jumps.

Nice technique Johann.
Ganda na ng quality ng video mo idol keep it up.
Salamat po! :)
So, Basically, Johann uses a slip stroke when playing a draw shot. I'll watch carefully in rth3e future to see if this is his regular technique for all shots. Thanks Johann!
not a slip stroke; a slip stroke has the butt slide through your hand on the *back* stroke; as noted above, what old school straight pool players sometimes did. what he's doing is sometimes called these days a stroke slip to differentiate it.
Galing mo sir mg draw shot kailagan ba mmhalin ang tip?
Salamat idol sa test
Thanks bro
Good demo
Thank you! 😊
Salamat sa turorial idol champ 🔥🎱

Very nice. Hehe
Hehe practice lang makakaya mo din magpaatras, sana mag work sayo to. Hehe
Godbless and more power coach!
Salamat Champ.
We'll try to work on that 😊
commonly called a slip-stroke, just in case anyone wants to search for more examples of this technique
Its called stroke-slip....throw the cue.
Slip stroke is the hand slides back and then grip to send it forward. The old school straight pool players used to do that a lot.
John doesnt realize, what he is doing and advicing, is not going to work for most people.
He's very over the cue, so if you watch them from the other side of the table "face to face", you would not be able to see his grip hand.
If most people attempt this, it's going to feel very awkward and they're not going to be able to make power from there.
So John has a solution, and it's another thing that he fails to realize or describe that is basically the only way you can generate power in that position, he starts out basically with all four fingers on the cue, he takes the stick back and as he does it, he gets more backstroke by fanning out the last three fingers or so, common especially in snooker or for players that put their chin all the way down to the stick.
He also drops the elbow as he takes the stick back and that's basically the only way he's going to be able to achieve low and straight with acceleration and so will anybody else if they are very over the cue like he is and Chin down on the stick.
And then it's still not over from there, to be able to continue his forward trajectory, he bottoms out on the pendulum and less the stick slide forward, because if he didn't and continue to cradle the stick through the follow through, and I know that he knows this, that will become a nasty transition before the tip arrives at the cue ball, the stick will decelerate now and probably finish left and downward because the grip hand after the bottom of the pendulum has to go upward now and that will take the back end of the stick up into the right which sends the tip end down into the left and that's the problem with indexing off of the front finger or the four digits, knuckles flat to the ground, because if you didn't do all those things that he's doing there, your backstroke has no choice but to go back and up and as soon as it goes up you're dead, unless you start dropping down at the moment of sending it Forward because if you don't think about the key points of the shallow triangle, back and up and then stroke from the forearm you shorten up your stroke distance now and more than likely you will bottom out the cue ball and launch it off of the table and that leaves only one nasty thing and that is to drop the elbow and that just doesn't work in that position because when the elbow drops before the tip arrives at the cue ball, this is another nasty transition, you get massive deceleration now and even if you were to hit the bullseye, it's going to be weak draw at best, but oftentimes because now you're pushing the backend down it lifts the front up and usually to the right and now you get a lifted cue ball where it's hard to see but it is in the air going to the object ball, and your line ends up being a thickness which is very strange with all things considered, so a player will keep chasing strange data trying to correct this damn thing not realizing exactly what is happening.
John is right about less power but for most players who are basically misaligned to begin with, less power is not going to work, less power works for John because his mechanics are sending that stick to the bullseye but like a dart and getting all of the stick in there which now equates to Mass plus velocity, in other words if you get punched in the chin and if the guy is driving straight from his shoulder to the point of your chin and getting all of his arm in there, that is going to be devastating as opposed to some loopy type swing that happens to hit you in the chin where a lot of the mass in forward direction has been dissipated because the fist wasn't being driven straight to the bullseye starting from the shoulder, so if you ever see that punching bag machine that you put money into then it gives you a power score, you'll notice the guys who are real good at it don't look like they're punching it very hard and they're not, they are using technique and letting the physics do more of the work.
This is very very hard to do in pool, but doable as long as one person knows what the principles are because to just watch John here and then you go out and try it, you're going to come back with some questions for sure.
And to do what his buddy Jeffrey Ignacio does, even somebody who understands could spend their life trying to do what Ignacio does.
Who's John? 😅
Nice! Thanks
does it matter ba bossing kung anong uri cue tip mo? or need talaga ng hi end like kamui?
Big help, thank you champ, more power amd God Bless...

If you have time, could you also post a video on proper gripping of a cue.
Thanks and more power to you.
