Splash Mountain Closes At Disney's Magic Kingdom, One Last Ride & Tron Coaster Updates!

- In today's vlog we head to Disney World's Magic Kingdom for the closing day of the Splash Mountain ride. We can't wait for Tiana's Bayou Adventure top open! We were able to get one last ride in on Splash Mountain, we waited about 90 mins for our ride. We also rode Pirates, Big Thunder, People Mover and Barnstormer on this trip! Then we check out the updates to the Tron roller coaster, before calling it a night! It was a great day and we hope you had fun riding rides with us! Tim you are such a trooper. You bought genie+, woke up ready to get a LL for splash but couldn’t because of your password, still came anyway, got into line knowing that there was a possibility of it actually taking over 3 hours, ended up in the front row even though you didn’t want to get wet, and didn’t complain once (that we saw haha). YOU ARE AMAZING!!

Seeing old people on the Disney rides make me smile. That old couple on big thunder mountain looked like they had fun
For those who don't know, the story behind Splash Mountain is Brer Fox and Brer Bear hate Brer Rabbit. They are always trying to catch him and kill him. They set traps all over the place but Brer Rabbit out smarts them and they fall into their own traps enraging them even more.
One day Brer Rsbbit goes to the Laughing Place has a little bit too much fun and falls asleep. He's captured by Brer Fox and Brer Bear. They don't kill him, they want to torture him for all the aggravation he's given them. So they plan to cook Brer Rabbit in a stew and start preparing the ingredients
Brer Rabbit has a plan to outsmart them again. He knows because they are large animals that Brer Fox and Brer Bear hate the Briar patch and all its thorns. However Brer Rabbit is a small animal and can go under the thorns, so in fact he makes his home there.
He starts telling them, You can eat me but please please don't throw me into that Briar patch.
Brer Fox and Brer Bear want to cause as much trauma to poor Brer Rabbit as they can. They decided to do what he doesn't want, pick him up, and throw him into the Briar patch.
Of course that's exactly where Brer Rabbit wants to be because that's where his home is. He zippity-doo-dahs his way back home while his neighbors celebrate that he has outsmarted Brre Fox and Brer Bear once again and he vows to never go back to the Laughing Place again.

How does the actual story relate to the log flume drop? I never quite understood that.
Even though I’m not a fan of song of the south, I’m still disappointed with Disney’s decision of replacing splash mountain.
@@sandydisneyfan8355 That's when Brer Rabbit gets thrown into the Briar Patch. That's why there are massive vines and thorns at the bottom of the drop.
💦 April 2022 I did my first solo Disney trip. I went on Splash Mountain and in the row in front of me was a mom who was taking her 8 year old daughter on the ride for the first time. She had that “I want to ride but I’m kinda scared” vibe. Her mom kept telling her the drops were over so quick and it will be fun. After the last big drop the young girl couldn’t wait to go again. I know a lot of families had that experience but I will always remember that mom and daughter.

@@nickmoney damn I need to volunteer at these cons, here in Australia at least when the con finishes the only cheers you get is to pack up quicker to go home 😅
@@dean4793 Every con I've been to until the end, hour or two after there is a crowd by exit and applaud the staff leaving. Not sure about NYCC since I've had to bolt to the airport right after close but everything else has happened.

Adam really gave the best send off for this ride. Such a classy, video. Hearing the interviews and watching the cast members have the last splash was emotional and he really captured the feeling of the day.

It’s sad to see the end of Splash Mountain as we know it. It’s always been one of my favorites. Back when I was a Disneyland Passholder, i spent multiple summers going on this ride so many times. It holds a special place in my heart.
I actually was hoping to see a video of you on the Splash Mountain before closing. So happy now ☺

Did you see the video of everyone cheering as the last few riders came down the drop? When the empty logs came down the crowd started to sing Zip-A-Dee-Do-Dah. Totally brought tears to my eyes. I am looking forward to the Tiana ride for sure! I think they filled Splash up to the brim with water
They were actually cheering most of the day! It was incredible! I was one of the last people on and when we got off we joined in and cheered for everyone else. The last few riders were castmembers. Some were in tears as was I!

@@bananadolewhip5270 this got me right in the feels. I wish Spash Mountain wasn't going away. That being said, Princess and the Frog is probably the most watched film in my house. I really hope they knock it out of the park and make our memories of SM nostalgic and pleasant without bitterness of losing such a great themed ride.
I don’t know why, for someone who never got to ride it, I’m so emotional about the “Last Splash” videos. It’s wonderful to see such love for a ride. I hope that love is still there with the new Tiana ride.

Lol I just pick whichever one is the shortest at the time. I know technically picking the long one like Tim said would probably be better but I don’t care I ride it all the time. I’ll get on pretty much at the same time anyway. I just somehow usually end up being in the front half and with as much as I’ve ridden it you’d think I’d have better luck but. I agree I’m sad but love princess and the frog too!

I was always scared of splash mountain but now I would take any chance I have to ride it again it’s so nostalgic and even though I never liked getting wet this ride really gives me the Disney feels and trust me when I say I will miss it 😢 the smell, the soundtrack, zip-a-dee-doo-dah has always been a really nostalgic song for me as well. it’s a very special ride. ❤❤ (am excited for the bayou adventure tho)
Tim thank for the ride on Big Thunder. We were Disneyland people and this was one of my Dad's favorite rides. He ran all the way to it in 1979 when we were there just before our wedding. We spent the day in Disneyland so my parents could get to know my soon to be dear husband. Duane was my Disney buddy for 42 years. Tomorrow will be 2 years since i lost him. 💔 Enjoy for us.
So sad, Splash Mountain is hands down my favorite ride at Disney. The themeing just makes me so happy and I have such fond memories of it. Totally understand the push to change it, but sad to see it go. Glad you got to get on it one last time Tim! I'll just have to have my memories and Slash Mountain frame
I knew I could count on Tim to be there for splash mountains last day. !!! So sad to see it go. It’s a classic! but happy to see my favorite Disney princess coming in. Definitely bittersweet
It was a fantastic day for sure. Glad we ran into you again after your ride. I had a posted wait of 165 minutes just before park closing and I actually only waited 45 minutes. Also got the front row and got really wet. Watching the last logs go by and seeing the cast members get one final ride was awesome. We stayed and cheered them on for the end.
Watching this makes me feel emotional. I only rode it one time in my life 20 years ago when I was 10 years old. I rode it with my brother and dad and it’s one of my favorite and most special Disney memories. Thank you for sharing this.
It's sad to see splash mountain go but I'm so glad I got to take my husband on it for the first time last year on our anniversary trip to Disney, I'll never forget his reaction to the first time we went on it always gonna be a memory I'll remember forever. Although Splash Mountain is closing and its very sad, One of my favorite rides to see you ride is Big Thunder Mountain. That ride just looks awesome. Thank you for taking us with you on this last big splash for Splash Mountain. 💕

I'm sad to see Splash Mountain go simply because we won't ever hear those wonderful arrangements of the ride's music anywhere but Tokyo from now on. That said, I am interested to see how Frog Log turns out. I'm crossing all my fingers and toes hoping it doesn't turn out like Frozen Ever After. Splash Mountain is a perfectly paced log flume layout regardless of theming, so hopefully they'll knock the reimagining out of the park.

I once rode splash mountain at a Christmas party during the fireworks and it was so cool. Can’t wait to see it as princess and the frog. Before the last drop there was a little character that would pop out of the ceiling and say ‘FSU!’ because a lot of the imagineers who worked on the ride went to FSU. Fun little thing I always liked to point out to people
I watched some live videos last night on tiktok and I was crying 😭😭 so many memories growing up with this ride and seeing everyone cheer and the cast members riding last was so emotional. Very excited for the new tiana ride though :)
Ding DANG I missed you by like 30 minutes! I had to go after I got off work😭 Someday I will meet y’all! I did see Adam and finally get to say hello to him, I told him I loved y’all’s Jollibee video. I got to ride big thunder mountain during the fireworks and it’s honestly the most wonderful thing. Definitely better than watching enchantment, lol! The train stopped at the very end and we got to watch the fireworks for like 5 minutes 😊

Every time there’s that occasional weeeeee! on a ride
I’ve only ridden this twice. My last time was last summer and it happened to be during fireworks which was amazing. This video got me a lot more emotional than I expected. Thanks for sharing, Tim!

I never rode Splash Mountain very often because I don't like getting wet. Before my last trip in August it had probably been 10 or 15 years since I'd ridden it. But when I was there in late August I figured I might as well. It had been raining on and off so I already had a rain coat on, it was a walk on so all signs pointed that I needed to ride it before it went away. I enjoyed it and came off with just the very bottom of my skort wet.
Splash will definitely be missed by many including myself but at least it's still the same track layout and log vehicles just with some redecoration to go with Tianas obviously instead of having Brer Rabbit in the front of the vehicle. Wonder what will happen to the animatronics. If I ever get the chance to return to Orlando again to visit family hopefully I'll get to to check out Tianas Bayou Adventure. I say that optimistically of course as I understand Disney has been getting more expensive compared to before. Peace and love to you both.

My last time on Splash Mountain was my boyfriend's first. He hates any kind of height so I was surprised he agreed to ride. He just hasn't noticed the main feature as we walked by. I felt bad when he was freaking out over the mini drops.

Hi, thanks for all you give us. We vacationers ,who can't be there but once every 2 or more years, are very appreciative. I'm so glad my Sister and I got to ride Splash Mountain for our first and last time back in 2020, which we really loved. I can't ride big Rollercoasters, so Splash Mountain was our big Rollercoaster. The scenes and songs of Splash Mountain well I'm not going to comment about, but Brer Rabbit, Brer Fox and Brer Bear and the other characters will be missed from Splash Mountain. It really was awesome themed. But, I am in anticipation to see on how it changes to Tianas ride, I love Princess and the Frog to. However, it's always sad to say goodbye to rides you love. Heck it's sad to say goodbye to everything that changes. Anyway, Thanks for this. The other rides were fun to see ride to. Be Safe Take Care ❤️❤️❤️❤️

The commentary throughout this vlog is spot on! On Thunder Mountain I usually go to the left because the right side is where they load the guests in wheelchairs, so sometimes it is not as quick as the left side.

Thanks for taking us one last time on Splash Mountain! The best memory I have on Splash Mountain was when I was a kid and we went on with our dad. My sister and I were in the first row and my dad was in the second row. During the big drop, my sister and I ducked below the top of log so all the water went over us and hit our dad in the face. We turned around and he spit out water and was completely soaked while my sister and I only got a few water drips. Still laugh about it to this day!

Yeah the ride constantly broke down. Last time I was on Splash we got stuck and my leg cramped up sooo bad. I was begging to get off.

As much as I am sad that Splash Mountain is no more, I also understand why. In the words of Walt Disney himself "Progress is impossible without change." I do like that they are going to be using the same track layout and just retheming it. Because those who have memories riding Splash Mountain will still get the sense memory of it while still enjoying Tiana's.

Actually, now that they've got the Tron coaster built, and they've probably already started doing this, but now comes the process of hiring & training Inaugural Cast to run it. Up to now when it Has been seen running, it's likely been the people who designed it initially training the management & supervisory types who in turn, are going to be tasked with training the rank & file cast members to run the ride everyday.
Maybe they will put in a New Orleans restaurant in the area…beignets be-yes
The first time I road Pirates I thought the Johnny Depp animatronic was a real person- such an amazing ride.
you know what's a really good fact? elephants have great memories.
One time the woman in front of my on Splash Mountain was wearing a baseball cap. It flew off mid-drop. My reflexes kicked in and I actually caught it. Always sad the camera didn’t catch it.
On one of my last trips I picked up a cinnamon roll from Gaston’s and went to eat by Pete’s simply because Tim always mentions how quite it is. It was AMAZING! there was no one back there and I was able to read in peace while enjoying my breakfast all while in a theme park! Made even better when Chip and Dale showed up.

The princess and the frog is my favorite Disney movie. Can’t wait to see and ride it. Splash mountain will be missed but the memories will live in our hearts forever ❤
We got stuck in a line of boats in the spot at 9:20 I was in the first row and got a little wet, but the people in the last row got soaked (and I mean soaked) by the spray of every boat coming down. Probably only lasted a minute and 4-5 boats but the family in the back handled it great and they were so silly. It was probably my most hysterical memory of Splash.
Ethel M is probably a reference to the Mars brothers' mother since it was in a painting with M&Ms. They own a company called Ethel M's where they make higher end chocolates named after her in Vegas.

I've only gotten ro ride Splash Mountain once. It was in 2019, so 4 years ago. I really sad that I never got my last ride. I can't picture Disney world without this ride
