What a breath of fresh air by the DA, positive attitude, we cannot fix something the ANC took 320 years to mess up, in a few months as a lot of the Anchors expect.
To have our historical monuments like cape town castle to be over run and put into ruins like it has by allowing homless people to live around it is disgusting. This has come far too late, and as citizens we expect this correction not only for the castle but for SA.

I visited Woodstock last week as well I was shocked to find that now its mostly a occupied by illegal immigrants and refugees, its East West Africa city and there is a lot of homeless folks as well. obviously our gov needs to deal with the drug issue so we can have locals return home and be earning individuals, then illegal immigration so we can tax them and register them and our cities can be economically viable.
Here in Mitchell's plain we see lots of dilapidated houses and also spaces where houses once stood. Can the city council not put theses houses to use also fix and clean the houses. This is money for the city.
Should the army not be patrolling the area around the castle to keep vagrants away?
What about all the illegal settlements in capetown . Why only by the castle mmmmm.

You cannot negotiate with the City to address the issue because the City cannot act on land that they do not own. The bottom line is DPW did not get their hands dirty and sort the pmatter out with an applicstion and b provide alternative accommodation. Dont make this look like the City did not act. They are not the owners of the land.
Personally this not newsworthy as the marginalised has always being shortchanged and the Castle has no significance to me.. However “dignified premises” l hope it,s not the concentration camps the Cape Flats or Townships are enjoying..

I was labelled a racist on this platform for stating the fact that the Castle has no significance to me.. Also l hope that the “dignified solution” is not the concentration camps we “enjoy” in the Cape Flats/Townships.. My detractors have never been to the Cape Flats/Townships.. My input was deleted twice as l welcome/encourage constructive criticism.. I am of the opinion now that this platform control the narrative and delete those they deem controversial/factual..
National should be contributing to the alternative accommodation because it is National that did not ensure a viable economic enviroment with job creation to keep people from ending up on the street. The local government is having to pick up the pieces and it it the people who pay rates not tax that end up fitting the bill.
