Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer this all original 1960 Dodge Dart Pioneer. This vehicle only has 52,835 miles on it and has never been restored. The car runs and drives exceptionally well and the 318 v8 engine is so quiet, you can barely hear it running with the windows rolled up. Not only does it run well, the paint also has a nice shine to it. The inside of the vehicle has the same great look that most of the 60s vehicles were blessed with. The dashboard has lots of cool features to it including a push button gear selector. The rear seats still have the factory plastic on them and the front seats had the plastic removed upon arriving to our showroom, so they look brand new. These 1960 Darts are great cruisers and a great way to get into a classic for a very reasonable price. They are becoming harder and harder to find, and especially in unrestored condition. Get ahold of us to add this car to your future memories.
This 1960 Dodge Dart is for sale in our St. Louis Showroom and can be seen in great detail including 100+ HD Pictures and an HD video at gatewayclassiccars.com. For additional information please call our knowledgeable staff at (618)271-300 or email us at STL@gatewayclassiccars.com. If you would like to see it in person, come to our St Louis showroom located at 1237 Central Park Drive, O'fallon Illinois 62269

In Canada we got a unique mix for the Dodge Dart Phoenix. They came with the dashboard from Plymouth with it's "Rolling Barrel" Speedometer and the cool Translucent and Rectangular Steering Wheel. They also came with a unique for Canada engine of 313 Cubic Inch Displacement. That was the entry level V8 in Canada from 1958 to 1964. After that, they used the same 318 as the U.S. My dad had Canadian 1960, 1964, and 1967 Dodges. Those two 313's in the 60 and 64 could "Kick Ass" for their day, especially the 1960 whereas the 67 with the 318 was a SLUG in comparison. I remember one occasion with my older brother at the wheel where that 60 Dodge laid rubber all the way through an intersection with 7 people on board. On the other hand, the 67 could barely chirp the tires on a GOOD day. Appearance wise, the 313's were definitely much wider that the 318. Somewhere in between a Hemi and the 318; which just looked like a 273.

In 1960, the 313 and the 318 were the same engine, ( A series, poly head) but the 313 Canadian version was a slightly smaller bore. In 1964 when the new LA series engines (wedge head) were introduced, it was 273 cubic inches. It was enlarged to a 318, 340 and 360 later on and shared some internal components with the older poly head A series engines but otherwise was quite a bit different and was physically not as wide as the older A series engines. Those new LA engines were not used in the full sized cars, just the compact and intermediate sized cars. The 318 used in the Canadian 1967 Dodge, if it was a full sized Dodge, would have been the older Poly head engine, not the wedge so it should have looked identical to the 313 engine in your Dad's 60 Dodge Dart. Unless someone had swapped the engine out.....or if it was one of the compacts or intermediates.

I would take this model over the 1961 model. The 61 model has reversed fins in the rear making it look very odd and awkward. This model has smaller fins and go along with Ford and Chevy whom also reduced their fins
