Steph was a record-holding drag racer back in the day and it shows.
If he is a record holding drag racer he should have went up against Blake Wilkey driving the Scumbug, the only reason he won was because the driver did not know how to launch a Bug or that you have to wind them out before you shift.
I love his youtube channel so much tbh.

this is a great race! steph really knows exactly how to drive his rav4 and scumbug can really take those whoops.
Not really. The rear end needs tuning. Way too much bounce. Needs about 10% more bump stiffness and about 15% slower rebound and maybe slightly more preload

Such a cool build. The perfect balance between weight, power, cost, suspension travel, and parts availability. Sort of like a rally car.
I have a 18’ Rav 4 and I like it a lot real good vehicle!!
This makes me miss the old 99’ 5 door RAV4 that I had, they really are great little vehicles

Toyoda ftw! Stoc suspension egometry and still moving throug those monster truck jamps! One of the best cars ever!
The RAV4 is NOT STOCK, far from it he utilizes fully custom fabricated Bilstein Rally inverted coilovers in the front, and in the rear he's using Bilstein triple bypass coilovers. Without these modifications the rav could not even go over a 6-inch bump, without becoming unstable. Is 8 inches of suspension travel in the front and about 9 in the rear, he's losing out on 3 to 5 in of suspension travel vs the Baja Bug. Bulls are great fun cars!
Kody is gonna take some work, gotta break him of that whole "rule following" thing. But there's potential here. That last pass was killer!

Few mods? It has a ton of mods. Go back to the part where they were discussing it, even the shocks were custom valved.
@@sepg5084 Bypass shocks on a RAV4 is wild, that thing probably has $5k worth of shock/strut lol.

i think he was nervous cause that last part of the track forced him to slow down, and that's the only reason the scumbug caught up

Damn!! I remember watching Stephen back in the 90’s racing his SICK Supra!!! He’s the man! Met him in person at the NOPI nationals in west Palm beach once too.
It's funny how we travle to places like this and think how beautiful it is there. And those people would come to America or the uk and think how beautiful it is here. Roads we can get form town to town in mins not days.

Papadakis humbling himself to just a drift team, then proceeds to be the MOST drag racer on dirt. Handbrake drop, probably used a bottle for the 2nd race and says "hes getting that car figured out" like theyre changing shocks and boost ramps. Fkn love it

Corporations and Private Investment does it to ALL COMPANIES they acquire. People, that were and will never be fans of content, make all their loose choices of future content. Only sell-outs work for said bs Corps and PI run companies.

That Rav4 is sick! Also, coaching someone to jump the arm drop is so lame, fortunately, the scumbug driver was noble. Also, he smoked that 3rd run! Love this series!

I love these offroad races because suspension and technique can really make up for not having as much power.

AT the start of this I was like what a stupid line up. Literally one of my faves. lol
In the intro "stats" card you list the Rav4 as having an NA engine but at 6:05 it literally says on the engine Turbo as well as Steph saying so. Is there a delete that wasn't mentioned or is the intro card wrong? I thought I was tripping but I looked back and forth a few times now as well as looking up the 3S-GTE.
It also mentioned a 4 gear manual is better than a 5 gear manual😮

Holy shit he finally figured it out for the third race! Maybe the only time I've ever seen him put his hands up without snapping them down like something burned him before he could get them up. He does it like that more and he'll stop fucking up races
