@@cyclopath1959 Hi Jonathan! Thank you for watching! This headboard was shorter than the average headboard I would usually make as it had to fit under a window. I can't remember the exact size of this one but you can make it any height you like...its down to personal preference and the space it needs to fit.
Love your videos! You don’t use complicated stuff, like sewing a lot with sewing machines and other things idk the names of, but better yet you manage to come up with a very smooth and a clean finish! I’m very impressed. Hands down.
Best upholstery channel on RUclips by a mile. Great voice over and editing too. I have a stool, an ottoman and a headboard all waiting for that elusive makeover and I’m going to get my electric staple gun out.
Really useful and practical. My loft bedroom cannot get even lengthways split divan due to very tight staircase etc. I have Festool and a Lamello Zeta P2 for the construction and concealed fastenings - have never done upholstery so your video was excellent instruction on how to achieve that. With the addition of a lift-up ottoman mechanism I can make this AND the bedside tables that are mounted on the extended bedframe structure - but all upholstered. That's this summer's project - along with full bespoke wardrobes and storage furniture.
Top notch tutorial! Thank you so much for sharing. I feel confident giving this a try with my uncle!!! BTW, would this be the measurements for a queen sized bed?
Hey there!! Thank you for watching, I’m glad you found it helpful 😊 these were the measurements for a King size but I’m not sure whether the sizing is different in the UK and the US?? 😬

Since people have to pay for waste here in the Netherlands you can find the most beautiful things for free here in the Netherlands. I found 2 very expensive electric adjustable box springs for free ( Swiss Sense both) replaced both the box mattresses and the topper with our owns and I found a bed like in this video with an electric slatted base on second hand website and upholstered it with fluffy blankets from Action, Costs :30 euro per bed and it looks great and professional. I used hot glue only. My daughters are still very happy with their double beds and love to invite friends to stay overnight to Netflix and chill. Also it is fun to find ugly night tables for free and upholster them with the same fabric and replace the handles with shiny over the top diamond knobs from Ali Express.
The metal hinges/ connection parts screwed in to Mdf are strong enough? Seems like the would rip the screws out of the mdf after a few weeks of plopping full body weight on top of the bed?
Hi Dustin! I have one of these beds at home and has been used every day plopping my not so little body down on it 🤣 and it’s held up perfectly! But you could reinforce with a hardwood brace is you feel it’s needed 👍🏻
I'm in the USA and wondering what adhesive you use to adhere the dacron and foam to the frame? This bed is gorgeous! I'm working on making a convertible bed-to-couch for a guest room and came across your video and I must say, you do phenomenal work!
Thank you for the suggestion! I will add it to my list 😊 we currently have frame makers for our sofas but would like to start doing them in-house soon 👍🏻
You mentioned the nap on the bed sides goes sideways. Is it ok to upholster the headboard with the velvet nap going sideways as well, rather than top to bottom? If they don’t match is that an issue?
Hi there! Yes you can but if it doesn't match the way the sides are going on a velvet, they may look different colours or shades. If the fabric doesn't have a pile then it doesn't matter as much. If its for yourself then obviously its your own decision but if its for a customer I would discuss the finish with them ahead of time. Hope this helps!
Why do you use mdf for all your work? Dosnt it get really heavy? I tend to use chipboard for the complete bed. End product is the same just way more lighter
Came across your video. Love it so simple and clear! Surprised your using only 12mm MDF, thought I would need 18mm structural grade ply or something for rigidity and strength. Anyway can you do a video of a replica B&B Husk bed...that's my dream bed 😍

Hello what size Batton is used around the perimeter of the bed? Thank you

Always 39h!!!! But there isn't anything wrong with 33.

Does mdf bend when pressure is applied if so how can this be prevented?
Hmmm. Only if it's being used as a seat and there is no support underneath it might bend very slightly. Other than that it's pretty strong 💪🪡🧷🪄✂️🧵
what is the use of dacron
