Sadly, because of the 100s, T20 & to a degree ODIs, the latest Test series has proved that England now doesn't have any Test batsmen apart from Joe Root. The poor guy knows if he doesn't score a ton England will lose. You could see the pressure on him 2nd innings against India. Give it 5 years & Test cricket will be dead & buried.
Yeah, even after root scored 180, England lost second test at lord's.
Very true, it’s so disappointing just how dismal England have become at test cricket and after Anderson and broad retire in the not so distant future it will be hard for England’s bowling attack too. Bairstow and stokes pitch in occasionally but even they don’t usually make significant contributions so without root this team is really doomed.
@@n0nc295 Stokes always makes reasonable contributions either with the bat or ball. Bairstow rarely ever makes meaningful contributions.
@@joek7277 yea agreed, that’s the perk of stokes ig he can pitch in with the bat as well as the ball but still with a 37 average and only 10 centuries I would still say he needs to be a bit more in the game as the second best batsman. Hopefully this changes.
