    I used an identical WR2 setup (WR2 .95 SB, WRH2 90mm hollow) today and came away super impressed. Might be unloading some vintage razors now that I have it.

    That’s a handsome looking razor! Thank you for sharing HD!!

    Thank you for not zooming to a close up of those minor cuts! It happens at times, but I don’t see the appeal of moving ones face up to the camera for a close up slo-mo shot.

    Nice shave, HD! I recently acquired Sea Spiced Lime and it is wonderful. I usually like cirrus, but some do go overboard. Interesting thoughts on mild vs aggressive razors in terms of over shaving. I'm currently experimenting with the Above the Tie SSMR and SSRH base plates. Have a great weekend.

    Interesting you appreciate more blade feel from the 95 vs the 85. Maybe my 95 is really a 75🤣

      75 is truly quite mild. I wouldn't confuse it for 95!

    Nice review of the .95. I saw your video about the Blackbird and about the CF Legacy as well. In my case, I've always prefered mild razors as well because of my very sensitive skin (especially on my lower neck). But I recently got a SS Blackbird and that razor just works for me. Really comfortable and super efficient, especially using a steeper angle (handle more parallel to face). And what makes it more surprising is that it is touted as one of the most blade forward razors out there, which is something I just wouldn't go for if you asked me three months ago. In contrast I've had problems with razors such Feather AS-D2 and even Merkur 34C. I shave every 3-4 days usually and my beard is REALLY coarse. As a guy that prefers razors with low blade feel (read: high in comfort) but high efficiency, which razor would you recommend between the WR2 .95 and the CFL? Or maybe a different razor altogether (been reading good things about GEM 1912 for instance)?

      Hmm, it's hard to say between WR2 .95 and CFL which has more efficiency, but I'd say they are similar in blade feel. The only thing with the CFL is that you really have to ride the cap when you shave with it, which bothers some people and others not so much.
      A GEM 1912 is probably not as efficient as either of those razors, and will have a little bit of a learning curve to figure out if you've never used a razor like it before. However, you can also pick one of those up quite easily for $10-20, so it might be worth considering for the cheapness alone.

      The ride-the-cap aspect of the CFL is also what makes me hesitate a bit. I guess it's just something to learn. I think I've only shaved with one razor so far that we really particular about that. Been too long since to remember if I had trouble keeping the angle though

    • @HDShaves
      @HDShaves  2 года назад +1

      @@konap7 You have to ride the cap with all GEM style razors too, so keep that in mind!

    • @konap7

      That's true. But aren't those designed around that aspect?

    • @HDShaves
      @HDShaves  2 года назад +1

      @@konap7 Right, the cap geometry is designed in a way where the natural shaving angle is to ride the cap, basically

    Great video - thank you. Maybe you can help me a bit. Today I signed to the wolfman wait list. I want a daily smooth efficient razor for my sensitive skin. You think a wr2 0.95 would be great for daily sensitive? Razor which worked good are Edwin Jagger 3one6, Rockwell 6c on plate 3/4, my Blackbird ist wonderful but not as a daily for me

    • @HDShaves
      @HDShaves  2 года назад +1

      Can't go wrong starting out with a WR2 0.95! Good luck.

    Haha, agreed on how some shavers on RUclips end with bloody spots all over -- on a consistent basis -- and still call them "great" shaves...

    What a realization, it does seem like DE razor artisans tend to make more aggressive offerings -- or maybe that's what the market wants.

    • @HDShaves
      @HDShaves  3 года назад

      I think it's definitely more due to the latter! People want "more, more, more"..
