If you teach your kids and pets that the emergency alarm means treats in the shelter then you'll often find them there before you. You can do the same thing with fire alarms meaning treats by the exit door. Easy and cheap to do, and might save lives.
That is an EXCELLENT tip that I don't think gets shared nearly enough! So often pets get overlooked when it comes to tornado precaution planning, and I'd really like to see that change in the future. 🐱
@babecat2000 Yes! That should be common sense. I know people are going to HATE me for this, but my pets are not family. By that, I mean I will try to save them if I have the time/option for sure, but my kids, my husband and my life take priority. I would much rather live with the guilt of losing a pet over my family being lost or my children having to grow up without myself/their mother or my husband/their dad. If it were just myself, my priorities would change.
I grew up in Michigan, I miss lightening. The Pacific has cold water, which is why we don’t get it here very often. I could not live where there’s tornadoes, I would be sleeping in my shelter during the entire season. I have a friend in Missouri who has to keep her kids in the basement when there’s bad storms. They just sleep there. So glad you did not lose your home!
I'm an aspiring meteorologist and I was watching these storms as they passed through Oklahoma. They looked pretty gnarly! The town of St. Mary got hit pretty hard. I'm glad your home was safe! I like to watch vlogs about storms because it's interesting to me. Stay safe! Now you just have to worry about the winter storms! XD
Glad you guys have a safe place in your home. Tornado's are very scary, grew up in Missouri so I remember every spring back then, was or could get bad. So glad you didn't have to much damage.
i live in germany and litterly 99% of houses have somesort of basement so jeah i have a pretty good safe place but tornadoes are so rare here if the do happend you probly wont get a warning in time or in the last seconds
Glad there was only one tree and the one pole that was taken down, and that y'all are safe. Thank you for sharing! Hugs and love to you and your family. ❤✝🤗 Have a beautiful and blessed week. God Bless ❤✝🤗
I watched this live on RUclips and channel 9, really scary...glad you all are alright and safe. I was worried, most the families I watch are in OKLAHOMA, Texas, and Missouri. We had a tornado in Central Illinois that came close the other day...
I kind of panic during severe storms. I went through Derecho and thought I was going to die. I was living in a mobile home. This summer we bought a house on an acre land. Feels much safer. Love Ruger. I have a Bolgen. A Boston Terrier/Beagle mix. She is very active. Glad you all stayed safe.
Same. We lived in a mobile home last year and now live in a brick home with a basement and now I can actually enjoy the storms some lol. They fascinate me but living in a mobile home they terrified me. Especially have small kids. 😩
I would hate living in an area frequently threatened with violent weather. I have lived in southeast Michigan my entire life, and in my lifetime I have noticed a huge decrease in violent weather here over the last 10 years. However, my area has had a large increase in rain flooding events, 6 just in 2021. My area never used to have floods when I was younger.
Love everything about this, except the storm! Well, I do love storms, just not the damage they cause. Your home and property are beautiful! Glad everyone was safe.
I love to see other point of views from fellow OK families. I live west of Tulsa and this night was scary for my parents who live near Coweta. Glad your family, neighbors and animals came out safe.
I absolutely love your Boston Bulldoggie!!! I have had a total of three Bostons and, there's never a dull moment with that breed. They are the absolute Bomb Diggity!!!

Gotta love Travis and Stacia! My ex was less than a 1/3 mile away from the Catoosa tornado. I called to let him know it was right there. His response was " oh that's what I hear". Insane
That tornado room they have looks a little flimsy it was are pretty thin looking and the anchoring looks like they spared costs on bolts bolting it to the floor maybe it will protect them from a indirect hit...

Let’s say the dogs were calm of they were pacing I would be worried. But for safety I understand why you did what you did. Your neighbors need a bunker but I know people from the mid west will help and I thank you for that but I wouldn’t want them driving in a storm and getting sucked up and dying.

But to get your dog in there, to not have to fight your dogs to get in it, like they did. Most people won't leave there pets behind, and I don't expect them too. That's dangerous trying to chase the dogs to get in the shelter. I spent a couple months in Topeka Kansas there were tornadoes passing around there, but there were big bunkers, for the people in the area to go in.
I live a few hours south of y'all just over the Red River into Texas...and man, watching all the feeds made me realize how bad I need a storm shelter out here. I just bought this property 5 months ago and did plan on a build, but...we might have to move that time line up a little bit!
Glad to guys were safe, I live in nc (North Carolina) and just it raining or storming has me nervous or worried and scared we've luckily never had any bad storms but we have had hurricanes.
I swear Moms have the hardest job during all events like this!! I moved from Carter Co OK to the mountains of western NC and I miss storms so very very much (crazy I know) but when you grow up with it you miss the soothing sound of thunder a lot!! Glad you are all safe!
With a large family like that you really need a bigger shelter. Atleast so if you have to spend any amount of time people are comfortable and not stepping on toes. I had an Inground one, the one that slants at the top. Me and 4 kids and my husband slept down there many nights. we had a laptop, a futon and 2 mattresses. We was always comfortable and it kept the kids calmer
What elevated this to hyper real for me was Mom saying, "Don't fart in here! Go outside if you have to fart!" That really brought it home for me! Thank God you and the critters were all safe!
It’s amazing how many people don’t seem to know about those storm shelters like you have. I saw one in a different video and I researched about them out of curiosity. They definitely seem quite safe! I live in North Carolina, about smack dab in the middle. We don’t often get bad storms, however last week, we got a severe storm and had a tornado warning, I live in a mobile home, and I’m a single mom, and all three of my kids were sound asleep. Then, as I’m watching the radar and panicking, I start hearing the siren from the fire department, thinking I’m imagining it, I crack open a door, and sure enough the siren is going off, queue insane panic from myself, thankfully there is wasn’t a funnel in my immediate area and things quickly calmed down after, I’m not sure what would be the safest thing to do in a situation like that. Glad everyone was safe! Keep us updated on storms!
This was me about a year ago. I lived in a mobile home with 4 kids. I was a wreck everytime storms came through. I also lived in NC near Greensboro. I have woke my kids up in the middle of the night before and headed to the Sheetz a few miles from us since they were open 24 hrs. That was the only thing I could think of instead of staying in a, what I called, a large tin death box lol. My husband thought I over reacted everytime but I didn't even care. I would rather be safe than sorry. 🤷
Great video thank you for posting it I live in Peggs Oklahoma two years ago a EF2 touch down in field in front of my house it did a lot of damage we have an in-ground cellar and have used it several times through the years that many people in such a small place and get every hot and humid I know but that is a price I'm willing to give for safety
When I saw that it was your room at the beginning, I thought you've got quite a headquarters there. Jim Cantore would be proud of you! And Bill Paxton, if he were with us now.
Hope you had extra shoes inside the shelter. I was looking at your son without shoes. You were lucky this time but if you had had a tornado he would have walked on nails, broken glass. I don't wish you to experience a tornado, it must be terrible and you are lucky to be able to afford a shelter to protect you and your children. God bless you.
I have to give you all. Hands up 🙌. If that was me I be so nervous. 😬 won’t be able to move. I live in Chicago and we do get lots of rain with strong winds and water coming down like open a faucet. But I never seen with my own eyes a tornado. You guys are great for helping your neighbor. God Bless you all and stay safe. Love the dogs.
My hometown near Cleveland OH was recently hit by a big storm last month... produced at least 4 EF-1 🌪s in the county with one tracking nearly 20 miles.
I'm glad you guys take tornado threats seriously and give them the respect they deserve. So many tornado related deaths and injuries could be prevented just if more people did what you did, even if they don't have a storm shelter. Interior rooms and closets CAN work in MOST circumstances, but only if you're actually in there. Too many people wait "until it actually comes" thinking they'll see it and have plenty of time. I can tell you firsthand it just doesn't work that way. One second it's just wind and rain outside, and the next second you're watching your roof f**k off to the great beyond.
Im from Jersey!! Born there and moved to Long Island when I was 4!! This is really different then hurricanes, no warning them straight panic and run to safety! Thanks so much for watching!!
Really glad you guys stayed safe. Scary stuff forsure. Those poles just got yanked right out of the ground. Glad their was min damage. Take care Jeremy & Chrissy. John & Sheri
I remember this storm! We live in Bixby right by Leonard and that was the first time we had to run to our shelter. Our Aussie tried to grip the walls as we carried her down 😂 That was a crazy night.

Stay safe up there
So glad you are safe
I'm glad you're ok ❤️❤️❤️
I’m in central Oklahoma it was nerve racking at times

@@ParagonRidgeRanch thank you it’s was very terrible thankfully we’re we sheltered
@@ParagonRidgeRanch and yes I44 is very bad on storm issues
Also, there’s a bit of damage at the lake at where I go to
That is some scary stuff glad yalll where safe and ok 🥰
Wow close call. Glad you are all safe
I think the most relatable part of this entire thing is the, "fart out there!"
I live in Kansas and we just had a really bad tornado and there is going to be more tornatic storms this month two
If u have animals it should be a given they are saved when a natural disaster occurs! Good preparation!!!
Blankets? Chairs?
My hometown near Cleveland OH was recently hit by a big storm last month... produced at least 4 EF-1 🌪s in the county with one tracking nearly 20 miles.
Be safe ❤️❤️
Battery operated fans are great for shelters, the mist fans help too,it gets hot in there!😊
Happy everyone is safe...So happy it was just the pole and a tree.. Scary stuff right there! ☺
Thank god for being safe❤. 😮 I have to give you credit for your bravery. Im in New Jersey we do get some warnings once in a while.
Im from Jersey!! Born there and moved to Long Island when I was 4!! This is really different then hurricanes, no warning them straight panic and run to safety! Thanks so much for watching!!
Hope you are staying safe
Really glad you guys stayed safe. Scary stuff forsure. Those poles just got yanked right out of the ground. Glad their was min damage. Take care Jeremy & Chrissy.
John & Sheri
Glad you are OK!
Yes those storms were scary 😬.. A tornado hit the Coweta high school, which is only a few miles from us 😬
I watched it on 6! so close! How are you feeling dear?
@@ParagonRidgeRanch I'm feeling much better, just weak and tired now ❤️
Glad your all OK.
I remember this storm! We live in Bixby right by Leonard and that was the first time we had to run to our shelter. Our Aussie tried to grip the walls as we carried her down 😂 That was a crazy night.
It really was!! We are so close!! We are in Winchester
