Does all clay need to be hallow to fire?

Hi. It's best if clay isn't too thick for firing which often means it's hollow. The thicker the clay the longer it needs to dry and the slower the temperature increase during the firing resulting in a longer and more costly firing. It's not impossible to fire thick clay but the risk of cracking and breaking is very much higher.
