hey, so I’m a 37,5 (EU sizing) and I went in the store to try the Jadon’s. I tried both size 37 and 38 with the thick socks. I think it is important to know that my left foot is bigger than my right. I first try the 37 and I felt them a bit tight, but generally okay, however, they were a bit tight on my big toe, which I think will be really uncomfortable in the long run, but other than that they were pretty okay. then I tried the 38, initially I felt they were way comfier on my foot, but after walking around a bit in the store I could tell they were too big, as my heel kept going up while I walked, but then again I’m planning to buy thick socks and heel protectors, and the lady in the store also recommended insoles, I’m very torn in what to choose as I really don’t want to buy shoes that are too small and will constantly bruise my big toe but don’t know if the other ones will be way too large and I won’t be able to break them in as they don’t “hug” my foot quite in the same way
it's so weird cause i am a US womens size 7, but i am a size 5 in doc martens. my 1460's took a while to break in bc they were so tight around the top of my foot and toe area. i got blisters on my heels and my feet overall were very sore. i used the wonder balsam, massaged my shoes and kept them in a warm area. it took me 2.5 years to break them in and now they fit me literally just fine! they're a little big on me but not too big. they're a comfortable fit, the boots are a bit more narrow so they did stretch out but aren't wide on my feet. i have wiggle room but again, they fit fine and don't bother me. i at first got a size 6 in the 8065 mary janes but they were too big and wide for my feet. i could tell they didn't fit right and i ended up sizing down to a 5. i did the breaking in method with the wonder balsam, massage and sitting them in the sun for an hour (idk if that is recommended but i kept an eye on them and it's one of the more tame doc marten break in methods i've seen LOL.) they did basically break in within a day by doing that. even the buckles are very easy to deal with and before that they were so stiff and hard to deal with. the shoes are much looser now and kinda feel too big tbh - because they're a wider shoe. i have narrow feet. i have to take the insoles out because my feet are snug in the shoes with them in. but i guess i'll have to wear some thicker socks/find some other way to make them comfortably snug. i will say though, that my mary janes are still uncomfortable an inch or two in front of my ankles. the leather along the top part of the shoes is really stiff! that's the main issue i have with the shoes because they hurt me after a while but i know that they will be fine the more i wear them/use the wonder balsam. the other issue i have is the bottom of my feet hurting due to not having an insole so i'll have to find a looser one with some support. but yeah: i think it's interesting how sizing can be different depending on each person. i'm satisfied with a size 5!! i will also say that those are the only two pairs of DM's i have so i can't say this is a general experience for me nor am i trying to say this will be the case for everyone with skinny and narrow feet :)
I have wide feet. I am a size 8 but usually always have to size up half a size (8.5) or a whole size, to a 9. Especially with boots and sneakers that are for “normal” footed people lol So.. this is tough. Sizing down is not something I ever do. Do you recommend I just get a size 9? Due to my wide feet? (My feet are wider at the top.
I have the black 1461 unisex shoes in size 9 (men’s size 8) and they are a half size too big. I bought them online so you take a chance when buying before trying.
I bought the newest DMxH in a US8,5. I can't wait for them to get here. (I'm supposed to be a US8, but Dr Martens' latest models have been way too small in a US8 so I didn't want to take any chance on these limited edition shoes)
Hey I rly want to get the gomez wild botanics but im not sure which size i should get. Im normally a 6 but for my jadons I had to size up half and for my devon boot's I had to size up to a 7. Im not sure if i should size up to 6.5 or 7 bc I also have wider feet ps. The shoes that I want are not in store and only online
I ordered a pair of Chelsea max leather platforms in a US woman’s 10 and I have a regular Chelsea boot at size US W 11 those feel a little bit loose and fit right but also just recently bought a US W 10 size on a Jadon Max Platform and they fit true to size and the Chelsea platforms are made of the same material as my Jadon Max. Just my question is was it right to size down on the Chelsea platforms or should I of stick to a size 11 as my other regular Chelsea boots really appreciate it
if the chelsea's in a 10 are too tight, then i would stick with an 11. because it's easier to wear loose ones with thick socks/stuff them than it is to wear tight ones
Hi! Im planing to buy gryphon sandals and im 8.5 us , do you think its ok to get size 8 , i cant choose a half size at the website . much appreciate ur response. Thanks
I just bought the Myles sandals , it’s been a long hunt !! Went with my normal Doc of US8 and these are extremely odd fitting .. the toe box area at least a full size big . Adjusting the straps made minimal if any difference … on the very first buckle notch on the strap closest to ankle the look appeared normal allowing my foot to at least meet the toe box but the looseness & swishing of the strap is odd , uncomfortable & unsafe . These don’t come in half sizes and I’m afraid to go down a full-size if I were lucky enough to even be able to find it … Many of the reviews on this are comparable to mine .. Question ?? Any ideas on what I could do to secure the straps without tightening them if that makes sense ?? Such as moles skin, etc. etc.? I dunno ~ I’ve been wanting these forever, and I don’t really want to give up on them.. your level of experience and expertise is really commendable.. Please help ?!?! 😘 www.freepeople.com/shop/dr-martens-myles-sandals?
Hi! For the 1461 bex Oxford, I am debating between a 8 or 7. In the regular 1461 boot, I got 7 and they where a bit tight the issue is I am a 7.5 to 8 so I decided to size down bc I was told they stretch. For the bex oxford’s would I get a 7 or 8 😊
Pls help so I’m in the middle beetween 7-8 and I got a 7 and I heard you need to wear thick or 2 pairs of socks with them to break them in but I don’t fit in them with these thick socks I have when I finally got them in my foot felt awful and I had A LOT OF PAIN IN MY FOOT
hi, i would just wear normal socks then and put 2 bandaids on the spot that hurts (usually your ankle). you could try putting some kind of padding if it fits
I got my usual size for the sinclairs (uk4) and they fit perfectly. No blisters. So i went ahead and thrifted made in england 1461 in the same size without thinking too much. The 1461s hurt my feet a lot. Still trying to make it work. Seems like 1461 MIE had a narrower fit and sinclairs had a rounder shape It really depends on whether your feet are wide or narrow, and the toe box shape. If anyone has tips on 1460s pascal sizing..thatll be helpful.
I purchased some womens 1461 lamper patent leather oxfords I sized down in them after reading reviews. I’m normally an 11 in docs (boots) but I got a size 10 in the oxfords. I’ve worn them a few times with thin hidden socks and no socks I’m realizing they’re kind of tight. They don’t rub under my ankles or the back of my heels. They don’t feel tight to the point where my feet hurt they’re just stiff, kinda like what you said my feet feel slightly numb after a while lol. I’m wondering if they’re hard to break in because I purchased the wrong size or if it’s because of the patent leather material??? Please help docs are so weird with sizing. I’ve also been thinking of getting the iced bottoms docs but I’m unsure about that size do I go with womens 11 or size down???
@@kalonbradd6096 as long as they aren't hurting you then i would say you got the correct size. it probably is just the patent leather, and if you wear them more they should get better. for me, when i sized down in 1461's, they dug into my ankle and the tops of my feet, so i knew i needed to get a size up. i would get the same size in the iced bottom ones- but if they end up being too small you could always exchange them if you buy them directly from dr martens. i hope this helped!

i would try a couple pairs on at a shoe retailer. if an 8 is too tight, then you could get a 9 and add insoles!
So there is a solution because I think I got mine too big because there’s a lot of ankle friction and chafing on my right foot

Oh noooo I'm a size 7.5 but fit ok in 1461 size 7, but I ordered a size 6 monkey quad since reviews said they run big!! Did I make a mistake?
ik you posted this a while ago but did you end up fitting the size 6? I'm in the process of ordering 1461 quads and unsure of sizing down by 1.5

i sized down with the gryphon and they were too small and got an 8 and theyre too wide but fit length wise
what size do you normally wear in other docs? that's odd because they usually run super long (they're always kinda wide though)
