My theory is the reason that the sacred timeline is the sacred timeline is because it’s the only universe that Victor Von Doom becomes Tony Stark….for whatever reason the Stark’s adopted him and he became the 616 Tony/Iron Man. All other universes he’s Victor. When you see other Tony variants as Iron Man it’s because it’s a branch of the sacred timeline that’s come from the 616.
I do think from a meta standpoint, Secret Wars could be used to add or change storylines in the new universe. Like I wonder if they could reboot with Hank and Janet from another universe as core Avengers, and maybe after the death of Tom’s Spider-Man, have the MCU rebooted with Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man as canon rather than Tom’s. I’m sure people wouldn’t complain with Gwen’s death and a comic accurate MJ as canon to the official timeline. That can’t be any less confusing than what James Gunn is doing with the DC timeline.

So when Tom Hollands Spiderman meets Doom for the first time, he will assume he's Tony Stark and will likely be confused and be conflicted when knowing he inevitably needs to fight Doom. I might be alone here, but this sounds really exciting to me, I can't wait to see how this plays out. Imagine Doom uses this against Spiderman? Exploiting Peter Parkers vulnerability towards Tony Stark, and that's how he kills Spiderman?... Also this feels a little too similar to a certain video game and well I like Insomniac's Spider-Man games, but they are unique and don't need to be copied.
