Michael, always enjoy your home theater tour vids. Curious if you can ask your guests if they’re okay with telling a little about themselves, line of work, how they got into home theater, what was their very first system, what would they have done differently from the beginning of their journey, favorite movies, etc. Obviously as long as they’re comfortable with sharing this info. Maybe some of the younger viewers can get inspired by those who are able to build really nice theaters and their profession to obtain to do so. The reason why I say this is how Matt Moreman shares his life experiences and is transparent about finances and his toys (cars, home theater, etc). I enjoy watching that side of your guests as well. Anyhoo…hope you’re doing well. Have a blessed day! -Bryan
Thanks Bryan. It’s a bit different when you are the one generating the content. Matt is more than willing to share openly about his life. But those are some conversations I could add in the future if guests are willing to share.

Trust me they keep going up and up and up they started out affordable. Some of their subs have almost doubled in price in the last five to six years. Not adding the $500 per speakers and Subs at the first of the year. It's great that the company is doing good but they have put a lot of their customers out of the ball game so to speak.
JTR has never been for the masses. From the beginning Jeff has designed boutique speakers and subs that can easily outperform speakers and subs costing 2-3 times.
Thats why people watching cheap Audio men channel which gained duble subscribers at same time even quicker than this channel. Here this channel showing everything overpriced.
Interesting that Chuck could never hear Kong running with authority. That is most likely a calibration difference, as calibrating non-identical subs can be challenging. But having four matching subwoofers makes the process much easier, and Dirac Live Bass Control probably helped with the alignment. Congratulations! JTR4Life!

Hola Jose. Yo acabo de comprar unos de sus subwoofers el modelo Captivator RS2 y para mi estan entre lo mejor de lo mejor. Saludos, soy originalmente de PR.
I have JTR’s main speakers 210rt’s with a matching center channel speaker what has the same 10” woofers and the high end mid/tweeter and have his friend Mark Seaton’s two HP+ HP- submersives that each has dual opposing 15” subwoofers that are made by emin- shoot I just forgot but one the one would be more than enough in most rooms, mines fairly large and being a incomplete paraplegic with spasticity, one month I had some infection and when the subs were just 1/3 of the way up from 18 feet back, the power had my legs hurting while going kicking out at times from the powerful bass and my charlie horses. The subs delivered more of the slam that 18” subs couldn’t produce but I will switch to JTR subwoofers along with the Acurus Muse 16 channel preamp which I don’t need all but also Acurus M8 amplifiers which my first system in 1999 had a Acurus Act 3 preamp with Acurus a200 amplifiers which 200x2 to my klipsch klf 20’s which with that amp had the best sounding dual 10’s in each. Now my JTR 210rt’s have my Krell s275 2009 amps power at 275x2 to my mains and a custom center channel speaker by JTR has the same dual 10 woofers as my main speakers and highest quality mid/tweeter in it. With my Oppo 4k ultra blu ray player with Klipsch 8” bookshelf speakers for surrounds that all be replaced by Acurus Muse preamp and Acurus m8 amp(s)

I mentioned it in the video as we were talking but it had been a long 8 hours with 2hrs of travel and 6 hours of install and calibration. Chuck is thrilled with the upgrade.
JTR is about to raise this Sub price to a staggering $3,700 each..Thats without taxes and shipping. While they provide great output… the DYI finish look and lack of features provided (none) are no where near justifying this price. Im very familiar with this 2400 Speaker Power Plate amp and where his subs are made… and while they are great products… at over $4k each sub after tax and shipping its just overpriced . With the new SVS 17 coming in at $2500 ( shipped) , more powerful amp, absolutely more musical and accurate sub, high end professional finish look and crazy amounts of features, the only draw back I see with the SVS is prob slightly less output, but that gets solved by going dual SVS 17, this will absolutely outperform this JTR… and dual JTR will set you back close to $8,000 vs the $4750 of the dual SVS. I think JTR’s popularity will be about to take a hit with all these price increases while not offering anything innovative. This home theather is great tho…very tasteful and well selected gear.
I would definitely challenge the “absolutely more musical and more accurate sub”. How are you quantifying that statement? Jeff has never made products with features, but rather ones that measure extremely well and perform better than speakers and subs much more expensive. You won’t see or hear a difference between a 2,400 watt and a 2,800 watt amp as it takes twice the power to yield a 3dB gain in volume. Hands down SVS has a better fit and finish and will look nicer aesthetically. But I do not see it competing with the performance of JTR.
@@Youthman Ive had the privilege to listen to the JTR RS1 sub, its brute clean power is matched only by a few,..however I did listen to the SB17 and while output was not as impressive as the JTR, difficult musical passes where better handled by the SVS IMO. This is something that will most likely not be noticed during movies as it took complicated music tracks to be evident. I didnt say the 2800 would make an audible difference over the 2400, specially when the drivers are so different, and we dont have much info on driver sensitivity which could make these amps RMS power rating difference irrelevant, it was more a statement on the amount power these companies can offer for the money. No...a single SVS sub can not compete with a single JTR in most performance areas.. but I cant imagine any scenario where a single JTR RS1 would outperform dual SB17's except for maybe better lower extension under 15hz which might not be an issue after room gain with the duals . Im sure soon Ill get a chance to make this direct comparison and verify. A single RS2 might be more of a fair comparison with the duals in output and price, however that much power coming out a single location can be very distracting even if very well integrated. At around $8k for a pair of RS1's... they are just not great value anymore.
Actually there will be a natural resonance to a sealed subwoofer depending on the enclosure size, fs of the driver, and the Q of the driver. But the low frequency extension capability of a sealed system will come down to excursion. Balancing the overall output across the desired frequency range you want the subs to play, to match the lowest frequency that is capable in the space at desired amplitude comes down to amplifier power. Love that these have 2400 watts on tap to get that near single digit pressure and dynamic power. Then you have your DSP to match that LFE extension and balance the entire FR of the subs to your house curve. That 2400 watts is needed just to keep the output consistent from the upper bass to the tactile ULF. And this is not meant to step on toes, but to share a little of the 30 plus years of audio and subwoofer design I have under my belt. I just never was good at business development lol. Long winded, maybe 😁
He is not qualified in home theatre; it's just a hobby, as you can tell from how he explains things to people. He keeps on going on about setting the speakers too small, which is wrong. Low frequency only goes to the subs channel, and not on surround channels
@Youthman Plywood and flat screen tvs is cheaper for sure after supply chain issues mellowed out. Labor has definitely gone up so I can see in some industries where things are handcrafted that costs would not go down to where they were even if material costs have gone down.

I believe it’s up to 5-6 months now through JTR direct. Obsessed Home Theater has inventory arriving this month (almost all of it has been presold) and have an even larger order arriving in April.
I’m not sure what you’re expecting to get from a lapel microphone recording a Dolby Atmos mix, that is uploaded and compressed by RUclips, with the vast majority of my audience, watching the video on their mobile device
Good talk but I think it was just a little bit too much talking and not enough showing where did you place the speakers at and how do they look where they are and even play something to see how they sound would’ve been a better video
@@Youthman I understand that, but watching too hard legs talk about a subwoofer and not even show the subwoofer not even showing anything that you’re talking about. It’s a little lame.
I delivered, helped install and calibrate Chuck’s system. I believe in total that took around 6hrs as Chuck lives 1hr from me. The filming of the video was secondary as I was certainly ready to get back home.
These home theater fans want to solve everything with subwoofers... the funniest thing is that only the baddest movies have that dirty bass that they like so much.
Has nothing to do with dirty bass. It’s about having the ability to reproduce the frequencies. The sound engineer wants you to experience . Even concerts and musicals like Hans Zimmer Live in Prague and The Greatest Showman come to life when you have quality subs.

WTF ... 3 months lead time ... they must be selling like CRAZY ... ha ha ha
I believe it’s up to 5-6 months now through JTR direct. Obsessed Home Theater has inventory arriving this month (almost all of it has been presold) and have an even larger order arriving in April.
I love videos like this - But i HATE that you wont let us see them getting tested. Its like that every video....
I don’t do audio or video demos as they don’t serve any real purpose, not to mention the issues with copyright.
Deep pockets
It has taken Chuck many years to get to this point. Same with me. I’m 18 years into building my Home Theater. It takes time.
Google the Baby Steps from D. Ramsey and start there.
Congratulations Chuck!
