Hello sir my dominar 250 has an issue....even in neutral if i do give throttle suddenly it revs up to 7000 rpm then after that it jumps from 7k rpm to 9krpm then falls back to 7000 and when riding it jerks very badly...like the power is getting cut and put back again....but when is accelerate smoothly and slowly it revs up till 10k rpm any idea what to do for it.. even other mechanics and bajaj service centre can't find the issue and doesn't know what to do for it..
This job needs to be done on almost empty tank 🤣 i tried to change airfilter on full tank i thought there is another bolt it is just heavy 🤣 or get someone to hold the tank for you to loosen the air filter box.thanks bro for the tutorial
@@thesportztourer Thanks bro your videos is my go-to for diy maintenance on my dominar. Now i am looking for a tutorial how to diy tighten the t-post and what tools to use, other dominar users here in the Philippines🇵🇭 also experience wobbling when they let go of handle bar even below 50kph or sound near headlight when front tyres hit potholes, The sales skyrocket since the release of Dominar UG here so too many users beginner/veteran experiencing different issues.. Thanks again for your videos Good job🙏
Hi Sandeep, This filter was changed before the Rajasthan ride & I did carry out a lot of fuel efficiency tests during this ride (2000+km). You can check out the Rajasthan ride series for that (Have done multiple fuel efficiency test in every part). ruclips.net/video/-8GwHWE6Y_8/видео.html
I did a DIY on my rtr's filter and it was way dirtier than this in just under 5000 km. Maybe it's too dusty around 😅😅 Gotta say though, replacing the filter on RTR is such an easy job, just remove the seat and four bolts and voila. Looks like a pain on the dominar 😅😅😂😂
Happy to know you found it helpful. I changed it at ~10000km & you can see it's condition in the video. Under regular use (not off road) I will suggest replacement around 8000-9000km.
Please pin this, might be useful to someone. I had starting issue in Dominar 400 BS6 first service is done. Bike stopped on the way home. Meter console was showing nothing. I called bajaj mechanic. He came and checked the Battery and fuse were in good condition. Then he removed the starter relay socket under the seat RH side, cleaned and put it back. Tightened the relay nuts. Removed and put back relay fuse which is placed separately under the RH cowl next to starter relay. Hola the bike started. He said some loose connection issue in the starter relay. Nothing replaced. He charged RS500. Just wanted to share with all.
Why bajaj why.? 😖 Pulsar RS200 NS200 AS200 series and now Dominar it literally needs to dismantle the bike just to change a simple airfilter... Also doing this for couple of times it starts vibration from the fairing... Such a disappointment for just a basic thing
Bajaj sports bikes like ns and dominar placed their airfilter at worst place ..🤐😑 i hate removing tank just to change airfilter its time consuming and tank get scratch almost everytime.😶😶
In our Indian riding condition 5-6k km of inspection interval should be fine. Check my filter condition at 6k km: ruclips.net/video/xk7EKy6oRy8/видео.html

As said by Gopi Krishna drilling out is the last option but be careful as it is on a plastic part & the heat from drill bit could make things worse. Take your bike to a lathe workshop they have a lot of different punch size to remove a stripped screw.

Point taken 👍 I did try to do something similar with this video. Is it difficult to understand?
The Sportztourer Not that difficult but for better understanding u can try it 👍
Yes
I got very angry on bajaj while seeing this video. A simple air filter change requires half body disassembly. Junk design.
Well you can do it in every 10k to 15k kilometres it's not like it's a monthly service.
You will love the hike when you ride it.
Not only for this bro... Also take a look at RS200 it's way more pathetic literally needs to dismantle half of the bike
Same thought here..everytime tank cover get scratched

Please suggest for removing fuel injection system on dominar with complete guide on petrol tank removal....

Bro do i need to put stock air filter with KN filter... for safety ?
I am thinking to try k&n in my dominar 2018 model..
Should i do that.
Exceptionally useful video. Is the air filter supposed to be changed every 5000 or 10000 kms?
Why did you not disconnect the connectors of fuel electrical connection?

Did you install rubber dampeners to reduce the vibrations from the tank? Or did it it already had them?
Hi Kiran,
The rubber dampeners are factory fitted 👍
can i use the same air filter for KTM RC 2016

So the air filter needs to be replaced every 10k km??? Is this right?

Are the air filters of dominar and KTMs same... Are they interchangeable??
Hi,
If I remember correctly Dominar 400, RS 200 and Duke 200 share the same air filter.
Do you suggest changing air filter every 5000 kilometers if you are riding in city traffic daily?
Hi Chetan,
Depends upon surrounding condition. It will be a good practice to check the air filter every 7-8000km and change if required.

Do we need to put oil on air filter before using

No need for oil in paper type mesh filters.
What should be the ideal km range for checking the air filter
In our Indian riding condition 5-6k km of inspection interval should be fine.
