Hard to explain this since different genres mean something different to everyone.. but I mostly listened to pop punk and ska. I still do, great stuff there. But my friend was so into heavy music. I didn't get it. The screaming, the chugging.. I just couldn't stand it. Then, he showed me this album. I lost my mind. It was like a whole new world was opened to me. I immediately went back and tried some new bands I disregarded previously and became a huge fan of this style of music. This band actually brought me to get into Every Time I Die who became my favorite band.
Saw THSD in Ottawa during their farewell tour. Bought a white T-Shirt from them, wore it during the show, came out of the pit in the end with the shirt completely destroyed.
