That 12% is actually pretty significant. How much of one ethnicity will end up in your grab-bag of genes is rarely exact, but considering you get no more than 12.5% of your genes from a great-grandparent (a grandparent's parent), it would have been incredibly recent in her family history.
I find genetics so fascinating yet weird. My mother's white with a tad Native American and a tad Mexican but pretty much white. She's blonde with blue eyes. My grandpa had light ashy brown hair with blue eyes and my grandmother had strawberry blonde which turned to brown then almost black by the time she 30 and she has green eyes. I have 2 aunts , one has hazel eyes and "dishwater" blonde hair and the other has a light brownish reddish hair and blue eyes. We're pretty sure my great great grandma had to be a "pro" back 30's to feed her children and accidentally got pregnant with one of her clients who was Mexican. It's kinda a "secret" but I think everyone kinda knows. So I actually get a little Mexican from my maternal grandmother. Anyway my point is I understand where the "white" or "European" comes from but my father is fully Mexican and looks it too but somehow I'm only 37% Mexican/ Native American . Then the rest is pretty much "white". So yeah that's weird and he's definitely my father cuz one of his other children and I look like twins .I also have Brown hair and eyes.
@@meodreadgaming4084 True, two great-great-grandparents can offer that result, if they all turn up in their great-great-grandchild's DNA, just for example. @@magoo9279 I've had to fight off racists before; black racists. Who came after me and my family when they saw my cousin with her adopted Afro-Latino child. A boy who had been rescued from an abusive life (his own father tried to kill him) and was placed into a loving family. We are mostly white, but we didn't care; he was a part of the family. But apparently some black people, who were clearly from out of town, got angry over the fact a 'black boy' was given to a white woman to be cared for. And they wanted to create some drama because they were 'whitewashing' him and making him an 'Oreo'. In case you don't know, that's a derogatory term black people give to other black people who apparently act 'white'. Even now I still have no idea what that means because it doesn't make sense. It got to the point that the cops had to get involved. They were ordered to leave or be arrested for harassment and have hate crimes filed against them since they were saying racial slurs out loud. It's not just racism I've had to deal with: I've had to deal with homophobia as well. My uncle used to be as homophobic as one could be and was unapologetic about it. Then my cousin came out as gay and the entire family got thrown into a loop. I didn't care that he was gay: he was my cousin and I still loved and supported him. It took my aunt and uncle awhile, but they eventually came to terms with one of their son being gay. Wish I could say the same about the grandparents: they don't even recognize my cousin as their grandchild anymore. And he and his partner have been given multiple threats by people who refuse to understand them. But they are married and are raising a child together. And I once saved a Muslim girl from a potential Islamophobic attack. Long story short: it was summer at my first job at a buffet and a Muslim family came in for lunch. I was tending to the salad bar when one of the girls came up for some food. An older lady was staring at her funny and started asking the girl some questions about her hijab. But I instantly knew where this was headed and wanted to avoid a potential fight breaking out. So while the girl was getting her food, I looked over her head (she was shorter than me) and gave the lady a look. A look that basically 'Don't even think about it. Leave the girl alone'. Luckily, she got my message and walked off. So while I myself may not of been racially suppressed like black people do, I've done more than my fair share of combating racism. But I've been able to change quite a few minds of racists because I got them to open their eyes. Helped them see things in a whole new light without hardly having to shout at them about how horrible they are. And that was before I found out about my Native American heritage. There's this documentary I watched as a child. About how the kindness of a black woman changed the life and perspective of a full blown Neo Nazi, with tattoos and everything, into changing his behavior. If I remember correctly, I think they even got married. The man is ashamed of his past and has vowed to do what he can to make other Neo Nazis come to their senses.

Season 1 Episode 4
Lawyered!
My Nana has Sarcoidosis.
What Ep is?
The pettyness!! I love it
Is that allowed???? LOL I dont think it is to go get their genetic makeup
I wish this happened to me where someone shows me a DNA profile and tells me I am eithet Arab American Or Slavic American. I would be grateful
ik this isn't relevant but that pen spin Ethan did was beautiful
Old lady what ?? 😳 shocked
I'm 100 percent human although my wife has asked for a review
So genetic diversity is a thing, fewer chances of some mutation from inbreeding or other forms of DNA degradation, think of it like ROME, hodgepodge that works,
She handled that well👊👊🏾
I don’t think they had a right on doing that but she deserved to know the truth 😂😂😂 love it 😂
What was wrong with it she needed to know 😂
No it was wrong
@@lovesallanimals9948 no it wasn’t
@@ldizzzzzzzzzzzzzle it was

I love this episode so much!!!
On the DNA results chart, it said she was 12% African American but the American part isn't an ethnicity. Surely it should've just been a region of Africa. I thought that was rather odd! Besides that, this scene was very good!
I love April. She's one of my favourites. Don't get why people gotta hate. I have multiple in my family with dark skin and I prefer them. They love, laugh and care a damn sight more about family and freinds than I know my own race to be. I have roots in those genetics as well as Italy and Spain from generations and generations ago. I'm a born and bred cornish girl, Cornwall sw uk but I don't deny my lineage. I'm proud of it
April looking gorgeous though 😌✨
Can’t wait till new season!
I watched this episode last night.
April is the best character no it’s true
Does anyone know what this episode is?
It sucks when it happens to you. Only in real life they aren’t able to get you for surgery so quickly…you get to wait for several days.
Ahhh it’s DK! 😂 looks like he got into the medical field after losing his race in Japan 😅
April is a trip in that scene 👊
What episode
@@egreengirl26 season 1 episode 4 mistaken episode
I agree with Choi. Can’t get worked up about stuff like that, especially as a medical professional.
0:47 u see actor messed up about to tap the board
What episode is this?
episode?!
Which eposide is this
What is this episode
Nice one
Miss April
What's the full story? She's racist but will listen to Ethan?
She’s stereotyping. She thinks he’s clever bc he’s Asian.
Mrs kovach must be obsessed with dr Choi 😂
Really? Did I miss something or mishear something? That white woman is part black or did they just make her think that?
Oh leave Will alone. He IS perfect ya know!
Lmao! The cackle I cackled lol!!
I disagree with Choi because if the old lady, or her children or grandchildren ever took a DNA test then she would have found out anyway!
Wonder if this scene (especially with the fist bump) was inspired by that whites supremacist episode of Tricia Goddard? XDDDDDDD
