hi only winter time in uk england that it becomes darker by 4.30pm. United Kingdom observes Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) during the winter months and British Summer Time (BST) in the summer months. The country follows the same DST schedule as most of Europe, setting the clocks forward 1 hour on the last Sunday in March and back again 1 hour on the last Sunday in October. so winter time when clocks go backs it becomes darker / nite time .

The period when the clocks are 1 hour ahead is called British Summer Time (BST).

The clocks always go forward on the final Sunday of March, which means in 2022 they will change on Sunday 27 March, a day earlier than last year. By switching to BST we will get more daylight in the evening, but sadly your Sunday morning lie-in will be cut short by an hour on the day itself.
