Cool game features in case somebody did not watch devlogs:
1) Towers cannot see and shoot through walls. I mean that makes lots of sense, so manage your towers correctly. (They can still shoot through minor obstacles like Barriers, Fences, etc.)
2) You can place all towers on cliffs. Basically what it does is allows tower to shoot with less restrictions, but usually having less placement zones as well.
3) Bosses never miss. If they use an ability - they are guranteed to affect at least one tower.
4) Towers have a health system where bosses and other special enemies have a chance to actually kill them.
5) Towers all have unique celebratory animations for when a game is won.
However health system only applies to Intermediate+
Plague Doctor cannot kill towers as I have seen

You can place towers on top of the crates and building at 5:33 which lets them see over the obsitcals
Tried it, it was nice, TLS/The Line of Sight feature and death features are really good, this means the game has logic, plus grinding is a lil intense but hoping you can do grinding. Anyways my opinion for TDX is great, I will give it 9/10
Remember to always check achievements cuz they give alot of money and exp, some people don't like it cuz they're super lazy to grind for missile trooper.
Don't get me wrong, TDX has SERIOUS potential and is already pretty good. BUT, the game suffers problems. Mostly, how grindy it is, the balancing of rewards and intermediate mode. (Don't know about Elite and Expert modes yet) Like, the rewards for getting to wave 30 on Intermediate is only 120 coins. Which is god awful considering you need Missile Trooper and Operator to even have a slight chance to get this far. Easy mode also gives only 200 coins for winning it on a hard map. Those gamemode should not be giving this low amounts of coins especially intermediate when towers are this expensive. Intermediate mode is also way too hard. The mode is called INTERMEDIATE MODE. It shouldn't require you really expensive towers to be beaten. Not saying it should be a cake walk, but it should not be too hard either.
true, but you can still solo intermediate with operator and missile trooper with a long enough map and certain path upgrades
@@favisgone It's pretty difficult to get those towers when you are barely getting 200 coins in easy mode on a hard map.

Tds devs are outta touch with their player base. Given this it’s only in beta means it has a lot of potential. John has lot of passion for TD games so I trust him with this game. Most things people complain about can be attributed to its recent launch so it’s not a big worry.

the speed of gameplay is capped to a rate of you getting money and I find the farms stupid
now mindustry (it is not a roblox game tho) but the gameplay speed is based on how fast you're able to think yourself since main resources can be obtained pretty eaisily,the only thing that gets in a way is your thinking speed

get the ranger or operator, and spam

Aside from being a bit grindy (not too much) very good game i think it has the potential to be better than tds.
I don't really like the enemies design but the maps are better than tds ones
I think it is gonna be tower blitz got very popular and it died due to lack of update, because they worked on evade more than tower blitz, tower blitz had better graphic than tds and cool tower also introduced 2 path upgrade, but it soon died.

In my opinion, different? Yes. Original? Not really. Mechanics such as the Dual Upgrade Paths and speeding up aren't original to TDX, and I believe originally came from BTD. Towers aren't particularly special, since you still have your soldier, DJ/Commander support, explosives, heavy weaponry, and economy towers. Yeah, we have the water towers, but they can still be categorized as [X] type of tower (like the Battleship, which I assume would be DPS/Crowd Control). TDX is kind of a run of the mill tower defense game with various quirks and aspects from other TD games meshed into one. I've seen tower defense games that are a lot more unique in my opinion, such as one where there is no actual path that the enemies follow. Instead, it's an open area that the enemies move through to eventually reach the end. The towers can be placed wherever in that general area, and can be moved around to adjust to the situation. Overall, I think TDX is pretty good, but I don't find it particularly unique in the grand scheme of things.
You forgot a unique mechanic. The health system for towers.

Tip if you have ranger:
Don’t bother with the bottom path. The top path has ~80 DPS, while the bottom path has ~60 DPS.
The bottom path’s ability doesn’t make up for that, as it’s very hard to micro with a tower that has an ability.
Overall, just get 1-2 bottom path rangers, and then spam top path rangers.

Just fyi, the top path on all towers is for range and hidden detection, and the bottom path is for damage and firerate. (Even though on some towers the top path still does more DPS, like operator and Shotgunner)

Okay we are in a game this is really nice, and there's that speed-up button i've always wanted to see in roblox td games, and it cost robux. I want to solo let me get a private server, wait why does it cost more than tds?
(NOTE: Other than a bit of overpriced micro-transaction, this game is really good and i enjoy it. at least the microtransaction isn't as bad as tds.)

Honestly, the game kinda seems.. blendy?? Theres no real unique art style that this game has over other things like tower blitz and tds. The fov range thing also seams to just be there “just because”, on some maps you cant even place towers in a reasonable spot due to how much objects block vision. Quailty is nice though.

Its really the way that its implemented, almost seaming as a afterthought. If you go on any of the maps that aren't labeled as "easy" then you'd see how much of a difficulty spike, and how the FOV thing really takes into effect.
Stuff like BTD6 was fine since you never really noticed the FOV thing in a way that made it unfun to play around, like cornfield having removable objects in order to clear up space + allow for more options on long range towers. And in BTD6, you could just bypass the mechanic entirely via heli or ace. To my knowledge in TDX, no towers bypass the FOV mechanic or have alternate ways to get around FOV outside of cliff spaces (even then it doesn't really help much from the maps i've played). TDX is still in beta though, so take this with a grain of salt.

@@acoolbugproductions1936 Keep in mind BTD6 had 5 other games before it, along with other spin off games, having 16 years to develop, and it is a multi millionaire company (multi billionaire possibly). TDX was in development for a year and just released. They are trying very hard to get a lot of content in a short amount of time because the community loves to complain when there is not much to do because they tried to make their game good.

TDX goes crazy with it's tower system
I don't think the game will ever beat tower defense simulator in terms of popularity but I think it could be kind of a rival to tower defense simulator when there's no event going on and the game is just receiving regular updates
As a lvl 200 tds player it definitely is a breath of fresh air. BTD6 is definitely
better than both tho

People are complaining about how it’s too grindy if you’ve played tds or tower battles you can’t say that tho because accelerator is hard to get and the towers form tower battles are hard to get because how boring it is

It’s a really cool game, but something about tds just feels more satisfying and chill, the enemies and levels are very well balanced but tdx feels a little too fast paced to play in a relaxed way

nah, tdx doesnt need any balancing. even though its hard (it was just released nobody has good towers yet) it actually requires skill unlike tds

TDX is a game ive been waiting for almost 2 years now im level 50 rn, so my view on the game is in terms of gamemodes is its actually pretty hard and i think farming needs a buff as well as nerfing some enemies speed and health, however the animations are just as good as tds and the zombies animations and boss animations as well as models are already better then tds. i alr think its better then tds personally just because i know john cares about what the community wants and will continue to grind out updates and give us a tower defense game we deserve as tds devs just dont really care anymore. hopefully more tower variety will come to the game soon because its incredibly hard to beat elite mode rn unless you have jug. but that game just released so i can cut it some slack .TDX all the way.
I think the community is what might bring it down, since it has a bunch of ungrateful people. They complained about codes being bad so much that John made a code that gives 7 gold basically just to say "I don't care". It's clear that a lot of the community does not enjoy the game, and might lead to John hating a lot of his community, but hopefully the game will otherwise continue to expand and continue to be a better version of TDS.
Mine layer at its current state is really bad unless planted way back. And intermediate is beatable by spamming operators and rocketeers. Farm seems to be a bit underwhelming in terms of income vs cost ratio tho

Personally, It's a okay TD game. There's a lot of issues I see with the current state of the game even tho yes it's in beta, There's been past Beta TD's that have well been better tbh.
Speed Up was shown and pointed out by John that he was "the" first to add it while other Td's on Roblox have had it for years but TDX adds it and it's not even that great, It's only for solo mode while only 50% boost while also paid. The other Td's that have it are free with 100% more speed and it's for online, So this was a major let down for TDX as this was likely within Development for awhile to just be capped to Solo play only.
Some stuff from the trailer was never added in the beta, False ad's? AC130 and one of the major size maps was never added (will likely be added later) but no idea why you need to show stuff that isn't clearly ready for players yet just to hype them.
The modes are very Repeated Content, I'm not even kidding like there isn't much diff with the enemy models for each mode. It's so badly repeated that the modes get to the point (after 6+ hours) that you will feel like taking a nap as it's pretty much place and wait.. Wait.. Defend... Wait but that isn't normally the issue but more on that you already know what's coming in the next mode as they reuse the enemies but change there names to "name"+ while they add some new enemies by like 10% of the mode meaning you may see a total of 2-4 new enemies.
Leveling is crazy grindy, Think right as I got to level 35 already within the first 8 hours. You need to repeat the modes so many times to level like, you need to do "hard" mode 3 times after being level 23+ and as you go up more and more that gets longer and longer. The worse part is that the "towers" for high levels are not even worth it as there very under powered or cost too much to even place to be good.
The model details are pretty bad, There very simple while there's been countless model design mess ups if you really look at them closely while the animations are pretty decent but I wouldn't say "godly" or "great" just decent.
The DJ tower is down right bad, The tower has barely any range at all while your trying to "get them to buff jugs" is a nightmare as the Jug Tower has a much larger Hitbox meaning 1 Jug = 1 DJ Range. Wish that was the worse part but it's not, There's no Keybinds for DJ meaning you need to keep clicking them to do the buff while there Cooldown is crazy long to the point it's not even worth it. Normally you would chain them but yea good look with that on TDX due to the costs on DJ, just placing the dang thing is 2.5k pretty much.
The UI is good, I'll give them at much but there's a number of bugs on the game one being the most common is the Lobby where 5 people can teleport (0/4) and that the game sometimes thinks there's only 1 player when 4 people join so no one else gets $ or rewards due to this and so on.
The towers not seeing tho objects isn't working half the time and isn't that great for the maps made on the game as there's legit only like 3 maps that are playable on harder modes, So this makes the game very repeated and gets old fast. While there's a bug going around that lets you place towers on Objects and stuff (You can clearly tell it's a bug as on most maps it doesn't work 100% of the time and is mainly due to Mouse positioning)
The Marketing is pretty cash grabby tho, Sniper being level 15 (or buy) like this takes hours to get roughly around 5-6 hours of playtime of repeated content while you have level 30 that gives pretty much the best starting tower in the game but doesn't make much sense why Jug isn't level locked then as it would be "ideal" as a level tower then you have battleship that is level capped at a crazy high level that only 1% of the player base will unlock for the few months coming as the amount of hours needed to get that level is unreal but there's no way to get it "right away" like the other ones. It's a marketing to get ye to keep playing non the less and sooner or later end up buying the stronger towers or spend hours farming for them.
While yes most people will say "This is only in beta" that doesn't mean much when it comes to Td's on roblox, There's been lots of Tower Games on Roblox that are still in Alpha that have far more content then Tdx with much much much smaller teams, You also need to remember TDX has a very large Development Team going for them and Cash, while myself have seen other TD's in Alpha that have a much smaller teams of 1-4 that are throwing out 2-3x more and much more "poor'er" then what TDx has done in the time of 2 years.
Overall, This game was very hyped and was pointed out to be "The Top of all TD's on Roblox" but tbh so far it's been the simple term of "let me copy your homework" while boosted with hype. There's nothing really new in this TD when it comes to gameplay that already hasn't been done before on TD's (hint why I said the comment above), while not much of a "oh wow this looks sick" as a lot of stuff is very simple in terms and the gameplay is pretty boring and repeated. Have to say TDX after 2 years of development is pretty disappointing for a large team working on this when you have these other Td's with half or even lower then that of a Team Size outputting more in that time.
I'd give the game 3/10 tbh, I've seen other TD's on Roblox that have done much more in the time of 2 Years of development and with a smaller team, Too me TDX is just a game that does the classic move "let me copy your homework" and not much else, Yea they added some ideas but those ideas are from other games all around (towers not seeing past objects Bloons TD6), Speed up (Tower Warfare, MechaCubes, Bloons TD, So on), Towers getting hurt (Only on Boss wave) legit nearly every TD has done this with there bosses, Battleship tower (Cube Defense, Tower Warfare), AC130 Tower (Tower Warfare, Tower Masters), DJ (Every single TD), Mine Trapper (Tower Warfare Factory tower), Minigun with 4 barrels?? (Tower Masters does this too), Maps that are large?? (Tower Warfare does this and many other TD's). The only major thing they've added that no TD has done on Roblox is the Object Range block.

First why would you expect keybinds In beta when it took 5 years or something for tds to add that.
Second the speed up game pass working for just solo would be used as trolling as then they would have less time to react due to being on mobile or having slow reaction time.
Of course there would be huge similarities to other TD games they have the same genre.
And also dawg wdym grindy in fact it would be one of the least grindy TD games as not only you can solo easy mode with just ranger, you can beat intermediate easily as the towers are cheap and as long as you have one person with a explosive tower you will be able to do intermediate with very little difficulty.
Also you realise how fast you can do match’s and still get 175- 250 in easy and 450- 550 in intermediate.
And also when people add trailers for the game they don’t just put everything in the trailer in there immediately they slowly add stuff and if they did add all the stuff it would be delayed for a month or 2 causing lots of player with hype of the game would be mad and cause people to not have as much hype and you would probably bring even more mad.

This game is a lot less friendly to tower spamming, since upgrading towers gives a significant boost to it in some way, including DPS.

I recommend you to play through all difficulties to get the max experience, I have beaten the game in my first round in "easy" mode, and trust me, not even "easy" mode is easy.
Right now to me feels like a worse (and also military themed) tower blitz, the game doesn't have anything unique to it
However, since it's just a beta release I know they'll make it way better, it has the potential to be awesome, but for now, it's just ok

It is ok for me rn. It is mainly because I am still quite new to the game so gameplay isn't that fun. It will only get fun once you use the endgame towers such as juggernaut (hopefully)

This is probably a server issue but sometimes the towers would it fire at all. But it only happened to me once so it’s probably a beta issue other then that the games pretty good.

@@zoidenvoid not reaally, tdx is very optimized but it just starts lagging a lot on final waves or when a bunch of enemies spawn, not really an issue when most of the people have a decent pc or mobile, but yea

-1 for delaying skins system (they were promised on release)
-1 for toxicnator and barracks delay (purely personal. Of course it was promised with 15 towers on release and we did get that exact number, but I was really hyped for these two.)
Fair enough again he said it would update AT LEAST every TWO WEEKS so it isn’t far out

What this game needs to add to increase my power:
-Death system for Players/enemy that target players
-Tower shield lol
-Bosses that tries to kill you
-Fakeout boss

I personally like the game, it provides a breathe of fresh air in the defense/strategy genre. The only problem I had with it is the balancing on zombies health
your too used to the tds balancing, where towers completely dog on enemies. its actually well balanced

Maddening amounts of grinding for little reward all the best towers are really expensive and you make little cash per game
You get 1,200 coins an hour grinding Easy, with just ranger. With achievements, you can get shotgunner in one game, even if you don't win, and Operator in 5 games if you don't buy shotgunner.

There is a glitch that wouldn’t let me place towers because I had zero dollars and it was temporary. What it fixed for me did you happen to you?
It happened to me and another person in the same match so we only had 3/5 Players and lost

TDX is not original, that being said, for a beta release, it is very heavy with the content. The victory celebration that some of the towers do are also pretty cool. I'd rate the game an 8/10.
Not original? If you are gonna compare it to something like BTD or Tower Blitz, just remember that the difference is that TDX makes the towers a lot more unique in both paths. There are a lot of different abilities, simple abilities like grenades and humvee's, up to things like giving every tower hidden detection or passive abilities like Patrol Boat and stuff. It's definitely not the most original, since it has a military theme and has mostly simple towers like sniper or Barracks, but it's definitely more original than TDS
