i have a 1990 Yamaha dt50lc (50cc 6 speed) for a commuter i put a firebox underslung exhaust on it. and its the only reason it can go up steep hills without falling flat on its face! i would say it's at least 1.5x bigger and no restriction. the fastest i got on it was 105kmph or 65.2mph. according to the friends following me in their car. i want to put a 70cc kit on it this winter, and i know it would at least hit 120kmph
Sick dude. I didn't realize the CPI pipes has such a small stinger on the out of frames. You can hear the differences 100% cpi 3rd gear would definitely drop the rpms down and bog.
personally i wouldn't rev the engine when its in gear with the clutch pulled in. i would rev it up in neutral, then shift it in 2nd, and then slip the clutch a little when you launch, if you do it right you wont spin so much out of the hole and you will 60ft harder, it's kind of a hard thing to master tho, im still not very good at it
Hey man love your vids, I was wondering out of a kfx450, ltr450 and trx450 what would you go for? I’ve never ridden a 450 (only 400) and looking for an upgrade. Ik you love your trx but I wanted to know your opinion, thanks!
so wait i got some fmf headers with my fatboy 2 silencers but does that means i lose power since i use fatboy 2 who are probably more high revs pipes while fmf are more low mid pipes? cause my fmf came with some fmf powercore 2 old pipes. i got them fmf set not that long ago for cheap 200€ but they are not really mint, a bit bent and beat up, but better then stock but i got the same top speed as stock headers with fatboy 2 about 115-118kmh gps, the fmf make it hit higher rpms but i let off cause its screeaming at 120kmh gearing it to short but i actually almost now wants HIGH revs pipes i dont use my banshee for trail rides i use it to go FULL blast 5-6th gear there is no slow use of the banshee, i use my raptor 350 for trails that does about 100kmh at best conditions and is fun in trials (but feels gutless also when u ride the banshee the day befor lol) anyway i never tought about the back pressure of fmf or fatboys silencers...
John way to break down a pipe to lamemans terms however you missed the mark in a global size way. A long ago mentor I had while I was starting out in building race car stuff was a 2 stroke pipe guru. He built the pipes for late 70s and 80s moto gp bikes for Yamaha and honda along with 125 shifter carts that ran national an global. Infact many of his pipes are still used to this day an where on Daytona winning factory rides back in the day. Now that the back story is over I will say to you what was sounded into my head about pipes. The diameter of the inlet an outlet along with size an shape all determin rpm and peak tq points in the power band. Also the placement of where the expansion chamber plays a role. Each engine will want a different size an shape of above mentioned and why they look different is because of the science involved with thermal dynamics and port pulse timing. With out going full on nerd here bottom line for the most part say your 521 for example is ported an timed carbed and compression an so on is all done one way then you build another 521 that has slight changes to all of the above. Just because they are both 521s does not mean both engines will work at their peak with the same pipes. One motor may want a smaller Dia chamber with a longer cone on both sides. One may want a large dia with a long cone an a short cone or one may want a larger Dia stinger one may want a short stinger. You get my point. One size does not fit all infact when it comes to pipes one size can kill the performance of one engine but make power on a twin of it.
I feel like the flip flops help with performance too! (Love your vids John!! Keep shredding)
How come you don't do videos with Michael Sabo anymore, like you used too.
@@EricMacNichol I agree

You need an air/fuel ratio sensor on that thing. I could be wrong, but I hear a rich mixture.
Bad Banshee there John. Looks good and clean bud great job
Never dull works good for chrome John

Holy smokes!!!! Great vid bud. That thing is insane......going to the 60" to watch this vid.
Sickkk dude I loveeee how this bike came out!!!!

You’ll have to let me know what races you’re going too!😎
Did you do anything to jetting between the two sets of pipes? Sounds like they needed it
Shoot that link to who makes that thumb throttle......could not find it in the google
Nate harames on facebook message him he makes them 🤙
Use 0000 steel wool to clean the pipes and the aluminum rims.
Hell yeah I love you my dude

Well kodak, id probably go for ltr or trx. Kfx is ok too but the trx is most reliable, and ltr is up there with it and has loads of power and is efi
so wait

Use 0000 steel wool on the pipes they’ll look brand new
Certified ripper! You should do a 2 into 1 exhaust just for fun to hear it sound like a f1 car lol
@@ChanseMartin222 those sound so sick!
@@StupidFastJohn yessir it’s be epic on big bore like that
The big gun exhaust on the banshee sound stupid good
I think I heard your neighbor screaming about his field you just shredded! Lol

Sent that. MOFO...
Next time you have to clean some pipes scrub it with a wad of wet aluminum foil it’s a game changer and it will also remove any surface rust
@@JalapenoAss88 that i did not know! Thanks 🤙
0000 steel wool and some oil works wonders on old pipes.
