  • This is a video of highlights from the Nov. 19, 1967 American Football League game between the New York Jets and the Boston Patriots at Fenway Park, won by New York, 29-24.
The clips are from the Jets' 1967 highlight film.
The Jets had a 29-3 fourth-quarter lead when Broadway Joe Namath hit Don Maynard on a 75-yard touchdown bomb (shown in video).
Amazingly the Patriots rallied, with quarterback Don Trull sneaking in from the 1 twice for scores, and Trull finding Jim Whalen on a 41-yard scoring strike to make it 29-24. But the Jets held on.
(A more Patriots-centric video about this game can be found in this playlist: "New York Jets beat Boston Patriots 1967", black and white public domain footage that shows both of Trull's sneaks but not the final Boston score.)
I don't know who currently has the copyright on this. I don't claim the rights to, and don't profit from, this video. I just posted it for historical and educational purposes, and for those who will enjoy it as much as I did.

One year earlier, the Patriots came within one win of a trip to the AFL Championship Game and potential berth in Super Bowl I, only to lay an egg in the final game against the Jets at Shea Stadium. Would like to see extended highlights and relive the pain . . .
