I reckon it’s a perfect combination on lighting, angle and the human ability to see humanoid shapes in anything remotely resembling us. I was so scared of them even after dad moved the folds to prove the faces weren’t real - I am still unsettled by those curtains and I’m thirty. I’ll side-eye them and tell them to shove off. xD That’s what’s so scary with kids, things can be entirely real to them and not “made up”, yet it’s nothing. Or they could actually be experiencing something paranormal or seeing some peeping Tom, and you just have to examine every situation carefully. Like, more than throwing up that scares me. If my child tells me my curtains are evil I am burning them. I’ll be moving houses just in case every three months if the kid is like I was xD

I think the mom was scaring the kid. The video cuts just before she says anything, then the kid says “open that” like her mom just told her to say that. It also cuts a second time before the kid gets more emotional. And if her mom keeps acting like it’s real and confusing her it could scare her. Also the mom says twice that her daughter keeps saying the person is smiling at her (pretty typical horror movie thing) but the daughter never once even says the word smile in the video.
