  • Gav, Jase & Steve take a look round, a very crowded, annual motorcycle show in Dortmund Germany that took place over the first weekend in March.

Much busier than Motorcycle Live at the NEC in November, and frankly, a lot more interesting looking too.

I haven’t been to the old NEC in ages. This Dortmund show is insane. We arrived just after opening time and it was already chocka…another organised event I’ll be avoiding in the future. On a positive note it is good to see motorcycles generating such an interest for future generations.

nice vibe! In Utrecht we had a similar event couple of weeks ago... unfortunately wasn't able to join... like mostly every year... ;) If Ii have nothing to do, I would want to go, but to be honest I would prefer a tour, over such an event. ;)

Yeah, we left the event feeling a bit deflated. Very, very crowded, which is perhaps a good thing. At least it shows that the interest in bikes is still out there. That said, it’s another event that I won’t be rushing back to. One thing I’ve started to notice is, in some cases, a lack of knowledge from certain „experts“. In my dealer the other day I got into an argument with a salesperson who was adamant the Tenere had tubeless wheels ( it’s a Yamaha dealer ). At the Messe the ADAC guy told us we had complete breakdown cover in Africa. Also not true. It’s a little bit worrying if your new to bikes…stranded in Africa trying to plug your tyre ( when it’s got a tube in it) and then waiting for recovery that’s just not coming….I feel a rant Video coming on😂

@@GreenString I have that phobia since I was 1998... During my study I had a side job. I was actually working as an expert for printers and scanners manufacturer, giving demos about the product in stores.. There was 1 rule: the sales persons of the shop I was in, owns the client and thus I (as a demo guy of the supplier) should never correct the sales person... I've heard lies, every day I was at work. I never trust a salesperson since.

Some do it deliberate. Some just don't know because you just cannot know 1000s of product specs by heart... Which you cannot blame them. Luckily you can do research yourself
