      @evilvolts I think the intro might have been slower than judgement day but it obviously changed tempo after that part 😅
      Also, these are my initial reactions and usually I just blurt out whatever comes to my head, I do let certain sections play out as much as possible (like the guitar solos) but I think it’s important to be genuine with my emotions and thoughts as I’m listening
      But yeah, you’ll find, if you watch other reactions it usually depends on what’s going on in the song.

    LOVEBITES - Soldier Stands Solitarily lyrics & credits:
    If tomorrow never comes
    Was it ever even here? Nobody knows
    Trying to find key to the door
    It's me and no one else
    All in my hand
    Things aren't as easy as "right" and "wrong'
    You only need one thing to be proud of
    Solitary soldier
    Fighting till the end
    I'm not satisfied
    Solitary fire
    Even with the scars
    I'm not satisfied
    If I can take it all back
    Daydreaming won't change a thing, so worthless
    Life is always back and forth of hurting and getting hurt
    Can't change this
    I have been searching for something long
    Not enough time to care what others think
    Solitary soldier
    Fighting till the end
    I'm not satisfied
    Solitary fire
    Even with the scars
    I'm not satisfied
    SOLOS: miyako / midori / both
    Things aren't as easy as "right" and "wrong'
    You only need one thing to be proud of
    Solitary soldier
    Fighting till the end
    I'm not satisfied
    Solitary fire
    Even with the scars
    I'm not satisfied
    Solitary soldier

    The star shaped symbol is Haruna's even pre-LOVEBITES item. She can spin it (there are three of them!)...
    Prominently used in the OMV to their second ever OMV "Shadowmaker", OMV "Unchained", her live drum solo, and many other places.
    Sometimes other members are spinning it, e.g. Miho or Asami (don't remember the songs and didn't want to look it up)...

    LOL - I totally Lost It when you said the song "started out on the slower side, but it might pick up". Miyako wrote this, and the amount of pure Notes she played with all of the parts during both the verse and chorus (and the solos) is just Epic. BTW, I got a kick out of your shirt and it gave me some Old memories. For about 15-20 years I used to do a set of 100 (nonstop) pushups every morning and evening 7 days a week. So that would be 44,200 in 23 days (DAMN, I never thought about the count back then). Don't do the pushups so much anymore, but I still lift 3x a week - pretty heavy. At least I don't think there are a lot of 75yo guys who can still bench 240 . . lbs NOT kilos . . :0)

      Hahahaha! Yeah, I was totally taken by surprise when it went to the next section of the song... Great song honestly and the Solos definitely are epic. Haha! That is impressive re: the pushups. I was told a few years back that I should make it an effort to get as physically fit as I can before my early 30s... I have been failing at that but hopefully I can push myself soon. Just been way too busy with life and work.

      Very true, I feel like they have a really rich understanding of music, being able to borrow from a bunch of different sonic landscapes and modernise it in a way that is completely their own style. More people need to listen to music like this and just deepen their knowledge of music in general.

  • @kristinjenkins6136
    @kristinjenkins6136 Месяц назад +5

    the one thing you have to consider is that most us bands may be ok in the recording process even if they aren't there is enough in studio performers who can be used to redo a track before release if it sucks, so when it comes to doing live the band members may not be able to play it properly due to the recording fixs. where as japan basically produces musicians from an early age so by the time they hit national band level they can and have to be able to produce both on the stage and in the studio or they just don't survive in the industry. basically japanese musicians have to be at a veteran or elite level in order to make it past the first record those that have been around for a while and well known have moved bands as required with the exceptions of a couple of bands that have managed to keep their orginal members. The bassist for lovebites is probably an exception as pre lovebites she basically had a youtube following of her own material that was bigger than lovebites following before she joined

    • @SquishyJoshy
      @SquishyJoshy  Месяц назад +2

      That’s super interesting insight, thank you for sharing! It’s fascinating to hear about the different standards and processes between US (for example) and Japanese bands. I’ve definitely noticed that Japanese musicians often have an incredible level of technical skill and professionalism, which probably comes from that intense training and expectation you mentioned.
      The point about live performances really hits home too-being able to consistently deliver both in the studio and on stage is no small feat. It’s impressive how so many Japanese bands maintain such high standards, which definitely sets them apart and earns them respect worldwide.

    The Japanese bands in general are Top Flight live performers. They come up through the small venues with live audiences. If you can't fill the places up, you're out. Also music is taught in the Japanese system, with club and talent show. Plus there schools for singing, dance and acting through out the country. Miyako, guitar started her music education at 3.

    I totally disagree with everyone who claims this crap, I personally love the studio version in my car more than the live version. to claim this garbage I believe it takes away from the sales of studio albums if they are true fans in full support of the band (the mentality is "why should I buy anything if I can create a playlist on youtube") I too love to watch the live mv but I've seen them on an actual live show and they are truly so much better up close and personal. My favorite from Lovebites is everything they have put out

    • @SquishyJoshy
      @SquishyJoshy  Месяц назад +3

      Thanks for sharing your perspective! I think both the studio versions and live performances have their own unique charm. Studio versions are polished and perfect for enjoying in settings like your car, as you mentioned, while live versions often bring a different kind of energy and spontaneity that can't be replicated.
      I don’t think live performances take anything away from the studio versions. For a lot of fans, they actually complement each other-many people still collect physical albums and support the band that way, while also enjoying the thrill of live shows or videos. Both experiences can coexist, and they just highlight the versatility and talent of bands like LOVEBITES! 😊
      I get what you mean about the whole playlist mentality though... that's a bit of a different issue to tackle and that applies to every artist not just Lovebites.
