Parkway Drive are HUGE in Europe and Australia. They're bringing a show similar to Rammstein. They actually reduced the fireworks and bangs to be able to record it probably to make a Live Album out of it. And yes they were headlining Wacken at the 30th anniversary of this festival. This was summer last year. (Approx. 80,000 people)
They are huge in Europe and headline festivals Not as big in the states but are still growing and do headline their own shows... usually play mid day during US festivals
Parkway Drive is a big thing in Europe. I knew them for a while now but last year at Wacken I saw them live for the first time and it absolutely blew me away! I go to the Wacken Open Air since 2014 and it was the best show I've seen so far! But you should have reviewed "Wild eyes" live at Wacken 2019, the crowd is at that song even more impressive... Wacken fact: there are approximately around 75000 people from all over the world and the festival is sold out for at least around 10 years by now. The fastest sold out after around 12 hours was for the 2015 festival. This particular show was watched by around 55000 to 60000 people
Took them 20yrs to get it but they are at the top of the metal tree right now!! I recently saw them at Knotfest Melbourne and they killed it!!! Living the dream
Same show.... WILD EYES = 🔥🔥🔥🔥 PWD have a huge following in Europe and have grown into a big time band, to be honest it’s well deserved because for years they were truly not heavily rated... GET INTO IT 👍🏻
Nah I love parkway drive I'm from Australia we had so much metal bands here that were average before them.. I don't know about usa but yea they're big in Australia.. the only band that wpuld be close to them in fame here would be 110% "the amity affliction " heaps of people here love amity alot
Just to clear one thing up, the festival is pronounced like the W is a V. It's in Germany, which is why it's pronounced in that kind of way. If you wanna see another amazing live band, look up Sabaton.
@@UnfilteredReactions No prob, I made the same mistake the first time I heard of the festival. Fun little tidbit about Sabaton, all their songs are inspired by military history. Wars, battles, soldiers, warships, tanks, pretty much anything to do with military history.
In my opinion, if you haven't heard parkway drive before, to listen to a song from each of their albums. There all different. Killing with a smile and horizons are the only two that are similar. Their DVDs are also the best
I totally agree with you regarding rap/hiphop music live. Disclaimer: I love a good beat,i love quite abit of songs also in the rap/hiphop genres. But it has always baffled me how every artist tends to completely deafen any good beat, even backup singers or featuring singers gets deafened by constant "out of breath screams",mostly the same things repeated again and again, over and over again. I get why some might get hyped over this.....me on the other hand,i get a bad experience from it. I have yet to experience hiphop/rap artists that totally blows me out the gates, performing live. And im not that difficult to please nor impress. I am a rocker and a metalhead at heart, but i can listen to absolutely everything,as long as the song,melody/beats are good (good lyrics helps too). First rule of a live performance to me is: Dont deafen the beat, dont deafen backup or featuring artists that actually sings good live. If you have 2-3 words that needs to repeated after one another for 3-4 minutes straight,well....its not a sign of creativity and quality lol. To me it just seems like they try to fill the time with shouting to have another "song" done. What i like about Parkway Drive and Winston McCalls harsh vocals,is that it doesnt sound like he is about to burp out zombies, like the majority of harsh vocalists sound like. Its like they had badly digested food, and you cant understand a single word they`re saying. Winston is on the level of Devin Townsend, knows how to do it without it becoming too much, and you understand everything they are singing. It also suits the song somehow, where other harsh vocalists seem to ruin a decent song. These guys are solid! The Void is my absolute favourite song by them. All the people carrying the guy in wheelchair forward, while he headbangs of joy, that is one strong message and example for the humanity in general. The Wacken Open Air crowd never disappoints!
This show had 230,000 people attending and Parkway was the headliner - They are absolutely HUGE

Bro like everyone is saying you gotta do Wild Eyes from the same concert, Winston had the crowd in the palm of his hand during that performance.
