I feel your pain. I live in Idaho, US. We were forcasted to have beautiful weather, upper 60's and 70's, and we woke up to 4 inches of wet, heavy, blowing snow. Luckily it is all gone today and the sun is shining in its full glory. Lol!
The bug spray was probably my favorite, but those strawberries looked scrumptious! You’ve encouraged me to do more picnics! It’s such a thoughtful idea to bring back the simplicity of what you can do in your backyard or anywhere while bringing such a nurturing basket of goodies! Another good way to help families eat outside, minimal clean up, and for the families the husbands don’t want to barbecue! I would love to see a video where you all are involved maybe a way to get the husbands involved 😂! Thankyou for your pleasant mum videos, your sweet thoughtful ways you go about things reminds me to maybe be more mindful of how to take care of my own family! Your ideas are all around family fun and pretty to see put together!!
You can buy a box of these at the Dollar Tree for $ 1.00. They have small, med. and large in one box so a good deal. Also works great for leftovers as well.
Amazing TIP I learnt - few years back there was mosquito outbreak and there was no bug spray left in the shops. I learnt that vanilla oil used for baking worked amazing as mosquito repellent! and bonus - I got few questions where I got the perfume from strangers on the street :D
I’ll defo use the egg carton hack if it was in a plastic egg carton box (washed beforehand)...Personally I wouldn’t put strawberries in an unwashed card egg carton box only because the eggshells previously might have bacteria and chicken poop on the exterior. Loved the idea though! 👍🏼
I thought this too. They do say the carton is full of bacteria. I’ve got eggs before with feathers etc on. Love all the ideas though especially the wine bottle holder xx
I live in Ireland, our summers are not very warm but as a family we love the beach after a freezing dip in the sea there is nothing better than hot stew or soup out of a thermos. If there is a lot of us I precook and chill the food then heat up in a pressure cooker over a mini gas cooker. 😉 Love the baguette idea, and using grease proof with string, better than using cling wrap. ( environmentally)
Our picnics growing up & holidaying in Scotland ....go to bakery & buy a load of ham rolls. Buy some crisps and a bottle of Iron Bru. Put it all in a plastic bag and drive to destination. Sit on the grass and get a wet bum...usually in the rain! 🤣. These cool hacks are very sophisticated though Emily - really like the baguette idea!! 😊
I cant wait to picnic now! I love making the food to take, it's done with such care and attention, and then scoffed in seconds 😂Bring on the summer and responsible. socialising🥳 . Ice in a thermos, great idea!!
Loved these tips! I live in Michigan and the way you folded the bag we used to do that in school and we called it a football and used to play a game with it lol. Thanks for sharing! 😊❤️👏🏽
OMG you're like my twin spirit! I LOVVEEEE being prepared! If I go on a trip and I realize I don't have something or I should've packed something, I will buy it immediately so that I'll be ready for the next trip!
Great hacks loved the hot dog one thought that was 👍 great, and the baguette one was just brilliant, the shower cap hack was fabulous, you’re definitely the queen of hacks 😘 xx
The Flask with Framfurt I remember back in the Retro years we used to this, a great idea. A great idea the French bread sandwich, specially for the family so practical
Love all the hacks especially the salad one and the blanket one ,thank you for making this video for us ,what we need now is good weather and no lockdown 🤣however thanks Love you
I liked your hacks....Some I already knew but a few I didn't. And well done for reminding everyone to take a bag for the rubbish. Really important to leave the area as though you hadn't been there. Good video.
Very nice tips! I love all of them. I espeically love the note card/reminder list that you placed inside the basket. That is a big plus and would really help me out to not forget things... I definitely can't wait to give them all a try! Awesome job! TFS!
Hi Emily, the hotdogs in the flask made me laugh as it’s so random, but a good hack nonetheless, wonder if there’s a veggie version!! Great way of making everyone sandwiches - so one baguette! Fruit skewers are such a cute idea. Ooh going to use the spray to keep bugs away - would love to keep bees/ wasps away!! Thank you for these Emily xxx
I’ve used a thermos for hot dogs several times, including for my wife’s Brownie pack ( several required). I microwaved some onions and put those in one with boiling water. Then you can add onions to the hot dogs.
Hi Emily! I love your video, as always. A while ago you talked about Fraser's treatment against his peanut allergy. I would love a hack video about food allergy because my 2year old had his first allergy to walnut yesterday. I will see a specialist of course but I would love a video about tips for the everyday life at home, at school, play dates.... Thanks a lot ❤️
Your hacks are just the best. Why have I never thought of doing the hot dogs amazing for my grand children when on our picnics. Also the shower cap trick got me thinking especially when you said you used them for your pram wheels as my husband is a golfer and gets the car filthy with his golf trolley so tomorrow I am off to invest in shower caps for the trolley wheels, cannot thank you enough.
Hi Emily, thank you for these! Some awesome tips. Just wanted to ask: do you just put the dirty plates in a plastic bag? I find I’ve always had to bring disposable ones but really limiting this and trying to use reusable items. Thank you!
Loved all the tips but especially the hot dog one but to also use it for ice!! love youer picnic basket, looking forward to going for days out soon. Which hot dogs do you buy for the boys?
I love this video! They are all my favorite hacks. But I especially like the one about how you compact the trash bags. I can use that trick in my bag cavinet at home too.
I can't believe that on the day I posted this video it snowed where we live! :-) We need some more sunshine xx
Big flakes here too, I live in munich
The Joy's of English weather! I'm not to fussed about bugs, it's the seagulls that pinch food from the kids that get me!😲
It’s 27C where I am

why pram wheels? i didn't understand
@@sum7866.. maybe for muddy streets, so you don't have to clean the wheels?

In the USA, eggs are washed and sanitized before put into cartons.
Clean ones that have never been used for eggs can be purchased at farm supply stores

A pop up mosquito tent is really great for bug free picnics. They are light and pack up compactly and are so romantic and cozy to eat and rest in.
