- As we continue to modify our 'Great Mk1 Giveaway' project car, this time we have 3 great lighting upgrades to choose from.
Here are your options:
A: Smoked Lights Front & Rear Plus Sequential Front Indicators and Side Repeaters
B: Crystal Clear Front & Rear Lights
C: Twin Low Profile Headlamp Conversion
As usual comment A, B or C in the comments below.
Voting ends Monday 16th May 2022
A defo.
We fitted the smoked led side lights and indicators. They look so amazing on a mk1
I like the idea of Option A. The best way to improve the headlights is to fit better bulbs in a better headlight unit than the sealed unit on the standard Mk1 as I already have! At night the Cornish lanes where I live are not good unless well lit. The sequential indicators are so 21st century! I'm not so sure about the smoked bit, though as I think this would look better as a clear option all round, but you can only choose one of the choices! The whole point of a Mk1 is that it IS a MK1 and should look fairly classic.
A.. lowered looks cool but i love full fat mk1 flip up head lights.
Gotta be A to continue the classic modifications. Will make the car unique !
Option C is best. Less drag and look much nicer !
Option C always nice to see where you are going at night .
I think its got to be option A, as it will give character to the white bodywork and make the whole car stand out.
Yep C for me too. Like the original look but upgraded light cover
Option C for me as it will upgrade the performance of the lighting and provide a sleeker more modern look.
I'm tending towards option C - the other two are not quite radical enough, and the extra light capability is well worth the extra
Got to go with Option 3, as I have this and it makes a world of difference to the look and light output.
Gotta be option A... keep thinking about adding the LED sidelights to my own
Must be option A to maintain quality and good looks.
Option C. Although personally i'd prefer B without the lexus style rear lights
Option A for me, think it will look better than the other 2 options by a long way
Brighter lights for the road ahead, always. Option C.
Option C. Would love these on mine.
Option C for the combination of good light spread and aesthetics.
Option C for me because besides it looks great it will increase a lot the night driving experience. Later on the future owner can add the Front Sequential Led Indicators and the front of the car will be awesome ;-)
I vote for option C as they will provide the best spread and amount of light on the road
I really like option c but I think the smoked look will give the car a great look so my vote is option A
Option A and C ---- blow the budget!
I would choose Option 3, with the lower profile.
Option c would really look nice.
Going with option c for the clearer night driving experience.
A, the smoked finish will go with the white paintwork plus I have a thing about sequential indicators which my GTI has,, a bit flash I know but I love them.
Opinion A, will look smart when all fitted
option A, was looking at buying some myself so a discount would be great lol
I like the brighter, safer option. C please.
Well if we are making it better for driving at NIGHT it must be option C the new style would give clearer vision of the road ahead plus as pointed out less height, equals less drag, therefore more MPG and in these very trying times of very high fuel prices every little helps.!
All of us who have/have had an MX-5 have driven on grotty winter nights and bemoaned the headlights - even after fitting 'super bright' halogens, so C gets my vote on safety grounds. Not keen on the smoked look and I dislike crystal lights - a car coming towards me was turning right across my path but the sun on the crystal lights made it impossible to see the indicator flashing - not so safe!
Option A, it'll give a nice contrast.
Its Option C for me. Looks real classy
Option C, like to see where I'm going.
Option C with the twin low profiles for me.
Yeah, gotta be C the other options are a basic change for a lot of MX5 mk1’s but changing the headlights are a better option and are an uncommon option 👍🏻
Option C. Has to be clear to match the wheels. Smoked would be too much of a contrast for me. Keep it low!
I'd choose option A bit more in keeping
Hard decision as all look good. Option C, better night driving, less wind resistance so better ( hopefully mpg ) I mean the cost of petrol at the moment !!!!! 🙃👍🙃
B, not a fan of the rear lexus lights but a much better look than the low profile and smoked ones.
Safety and style? Option C!
C... I like A but not keen on changing the rears
Option C. Anything to reduce drag and increase mpg
Think I prefer option C but close call with A
Option B Crystal Clear Front and Rear lights
C for me but if budget allows then C and A !
I want to say C, but I really want this (when I win!) as stock as possible, so B
C for me, they'll look really classy! 😀
Think it should be ’C’. Always liked this mod. Smoke on a white car doesn’t work, I like the clear but offers no contrast.
Has to be A for me. Sounds very cool…
Needs to be C.... Close option with A but don't think the smoke look will suit it
option 3 low twins, with the sequential lower unit from option 1 imo. Didn't like the rears, "lexus" style was all the rage back in late 90's, only place it worked for me was...on lexus's , lexi ... a lexus? I have seen some rears that'd be worth a look for me but they're not from MX5 parts currently. (Maybe they could source them and sell them "Sequential LED Tail Lights For Miata NA/Mk1" found with a quick google from "carbon Miata" so stateside) I think that with the sequential fronts and low twins could be awesome.
Option C to add value
Option C for me.
It has to be Option 3 for me
Option C
Option A
Option B for me
Option B for me…
Option c
Choices getting harder...???????..Okay, I'm going for "A".
Option 3
Definitely C this time around. The original design of the rear lights is by far the best, so leaving those alone would be good! That said, upgrading the pop ups to a much brighter and safer style - and with the added bonus that they look good - makes C my favourite :)
A for me. 😀
Love the low profile option 3. Love option b too but I'm just not a fan of the clear rear lights. Looking great though 👍
👍👍I VOTE C 👍👍
C for me
Got to be B for me.
Ohhh like option a but twin low pros 😍😍 love the look of them so much so has to be option c
As pointed out, the smoked version will make this "Snow white" really stand out 😘 I vote for option A.
c for me
Option C with option Bs sequentials 😂
C for me 😎👍
A!
Love the idea of the lighting in A so there goes my vote
Option 3 please
I like option C . Because its unusual to twin headlamps on an MX5.
B not a fan of smoked lights.
A
I’d go for the 3rd option, low pro.
Option C for me
