Keep in mind the red stop engine and yellow warning dash lamps illuminate with the key on mode momentarily . Fuse spades inside the battery box will be corroded . Testing the fuse with a test lamp may light up but may not go through the connector . The data link will not have electrical current to it ! Pull hard on the battery ECM wiring to find a corroded break .

Get out of the owner op business while you still have some skin left. I just did, I had to. With load rates being so low, you just can't save enough money for truck repairs when you get hit a couple times in a couple of months. Two months ago, $10,000 for stupid DPF cleaning, an exhaust manifold leak, registration and 2 new front tires. Then last month my truck spun a main bearing and destroyed the crankshaft in Texas. $24,000 for a used motor swap. I could've had it fixed by maxing out my personal credit cards and home savings, but what about the next breakdown in a week, month, 2 months etc? Then I wouldn't have any funds left to draw on and I'd be stuck on the side of the road and in debt. I took a rental car from Texas home to Ohio, called the loan company and did a voluntary repo. I still owed $20,000 on the 2015 Freightliner, but I'll have to eat whatever the final amount turns out to be after auction. I like driving semi trucks, but I can't jepordize the family finances to try to stay in a lost cause business. And when/if hauling rates do go back up, the damn crooked brokers will just take the cream and keep giving us truckers the scraps. Broker greed has ruined the trucking industry. Good luck to all of you still out there trying - My heart is with you.

@@RobertQuine-pk7pl thank you for the sincere advice, I have been telling my friends, we actually lost the moment we decided to become owner operators. 8 years, we learned nothing. 8 years of hell. I lived in my truck on week days , and on the weekends I lived by truck fixing issues. The whole system is against us. That Def system you are talking about has cost truckers millions if not billions of dollars. The happiest people of this journey have been brokers & dealerships. I am knowledgeable now when it comes to truck issues, these guys have been scamming us. Someone needs to sue them. We used to deal with ease logistics a lot, go watch how they have transferred from a tiny office to a mega one. They made it, we did not. I stopped telling my friends to become owner operators, go learn real estate , etc, the long run is way better. Your case & mine are not unique by the way. The most are suffering
