    Thank you very much...funny how the last few seconds of your video was the main part I was looking for. RUclips is always annoying when they put advertisements on top of the video before the last three seconds to allow people to see the entire video without something floating next video screen popping up in the way

      On the app, when those annoying overlays start, grab the top of the video screen and drag down a tiny bit and hold it. The overlays go away...
      Pick a spot up in the corner, so your hand isn't in the way either...
      It's a stupid way to do it, but we are dealing with screwtube, so it's not surprising...

    Yes, great explanation for rotation and spray distance. But, my spray "stream" is pencil thin and shoots over all the area 0-12 feet. Is there an adjustment for spray "dispersion"?? The other slotted window??

    • @NeverStopDIY
      @NeverStopDIY  3 года назад

      The slot is only used for a special key-like tool that you use to pull up the head while the sprinkler is in the ground. I am thinking you might have a dirty nozzle...

      @@NeverStopDIY Thanks for taking the time to respond and explaining that slot. • @NeverStopDIY

      The key is to position the sprinkler head correctly when you are first installing it. As you are screwing down the sprinkler head, onto your irrigation line, make sure the arrow on top ends up on your desired left point of the sprinkler coverage. That means the sprinkler head will stop turning left at that point. After you position the arrow at the left end point of the coverage, turn the flat head screw on top to adjust the right end point of the coverage.

    • @barbarawest584
      @barbarawest584 3 года назад

    • @TheLarryBrown
      @TheLarryBrown 2 года назад

      @@barbarawest584 That question doesn't really make sense to me Barbara, since you are not starting from a working sprinkler head and then turning it to adjust it, which, yes, would either be loosening or tightening the sprinkler body on the threaded water inlet on the bottom of it. And it's not really "the top of the sprinkler head," it's "the body." Your question doesn't make sense in light of the fact that this tip is "for the initial installation." Rephrasing your question in my own words, and in light of the "initial installation," might clarify what you want to know: "If you position the desired leftmost point of the water pattern as you are initially installing the sprinkler head and screwing it down, aren't the odds great that your desired rotation will either be too loose, and thus leak, or too tight, and thus crack the body?"

  • @cancelOG
    @cancelOG 2 года назад

    When you twist the rotor to get the desired left position, won't you overtighten it at the bottom? That's what I don't get. And if I turn left, it'll just loosen it so I might have a leak no?

    • @ravi4846
      @ravi4846 2 года назад

      This is EXACTLY what's confusing me too. Need to replace/fix a few 32SA heads in my yard this season.

    • @cancelOG
      @cancelOG 2 года назад

      @@ravi4846 so I found that there are two ways.
      1. Easiest way - just take the sprinkler head and turn it to your desired left position. You'll hear it clicking. Just don't over turn it or you'll have to reset, since you can't easily adjust it. You'll then have to re-adjust the right position.
      2. There's the middle ring on the rotor. Just turn it left to loosen the sprinkler head. Take it out, put it back in to your desired left position and tighten it. Just take a note of your left position. I find this way a bit annoying because the sprinkler head turns a bit as you tighten it. But this way will also enable you to reset the position if in method #1 you overturned it.

    • @TheLarryBrown
      @TheLarryBrown 2 года назад

      No not at all. It will only loosen if you twist the body of the unit. Turning just the rotor as shown in the video will not loose the unit.

    To adjust the water flow rate, you have to have the water on??

    • @TheLarryBrown
      @TheLarryBrown 2 года назад

      No you don't, but it makes less trial and error to get exactly what you need since you can see the effects of your adjustment as you make it. Otherwise I hope you like hiking back to the controller in the garage 25 times. Maybe use an electric bike.

    • @Handd4u
      @Handd4u 2 года назад

      @@TheLarryBrown Hey LarryBrown, you are correct. It is not required to have the sprinkler running during the adjustment. Having the sprinkler running during adjustment is the most wise and effective process to make the adjustment while visually verifying your goal. Analogy, throw a dart at the bullseye with a blindfold over your eyes (no water running) Vs. remove the blindfold (water running) and give it a try.

    My have these and my second newest addition will not pop all the way Up. I have to walk over and pull it for it to pop fully open. I been trying to get it to loosen up but it will not open fully on its own. My first Rain bird had this problem but fixed itself after the 4-5 time. Wth man, I just put down some grass seeds yesterday and it’s frustrating that this is happening.
    I have my hose on a timer and they come on one one after the other turns off so I dont lose water pressure. I do have the heads on 100 foot hose but like I mentioned, my first rain bird doesn’t have this problem with the same exact setup.
    Any tips???

    • @NeverStopDIY
      @NeverStopDIY  3 года назад

      Hello. Thanks for watching the channel. I think your water pressure is too low or there is not enough water flow to make your sprinkler head "pop." It could also be like you said, that the supply hose is too long or you may have too many sprinkler-heads on that line. A bigger diameter hose, a shorter hose, or separating your sprinklers in different zones might solve this problem.

    • @tite732
      @tite732 3 года назад

      @@NeverStopDIY I literally have the same exact water hose with the same Rainbird head on another zone. Same 100 footer. Works fine. I bought the second same setup but have this problem. I have a timer with 4 different zones.
      I tried all evening and just got my backyard super wet in the trouble area. I think I will just go to Home Depot and buy an orbit head like my front yard. Then I don’t have to worry about it having to pop up and down.
      Very weird and frustrating situation given I have the same exact setup working fine on zone 2!

    • @NeverStopDIY
