Finally someone that just gives the details without all the added stuff…thank you
Well explained. And the camera close-ups were really nice for these older eyes. Thank you!
Dude, 5 star review. Had been considering the Hunter but had reservations about operations. You answered EVERYTHING. That's the way to do a review folks.😂😂
Just bought one of these this morning to replace one that was in the ground when I bought the house. Never had to replace a sprinkler head on my own -- always paid someone to do it for me. Thanks to this video I was able to do it myself this morning and save the $$ for something else.
Best sprinkler video yet. Thank You
Can't thank you enough, you saved my life! I bought that horrible new Toro before I read your review of it. Then I realized while accidentally watching your review of the other Hunter PG that I needed a Hunter, so I replaced it with a PGP and then watched your excellent review and am now one happy camper! You the man!!
Suuuuuuuper helpful!! Thank you so much! The directions on the inside sleeve of the sprinkler’s packaging were illegible and so unclear! Your vid was straight forward and explained it all! Much obliged!
BAR NONE THE BEST TUTORIAL ON RUclips!
TEUST ME !
I've watched over 20 of these.
Props for the Excellent tutorial.
I found your video to be the best. Now I understand the adjustment procedure. Thanks.
I got it close after watching this video, Thank you
You just saved me $120.00 per hour for our irrigation provider to come out and adjust the head direction as we change the landscaping and 360 growing field. Thank you!!!!
Makes me happy to know this is helping those who need it.
Brother you just saved me 80 bucks for a service call 👍🏻 great video. Thanks ….
i was really happy to know that i was not the only one using the wrong end of the tool. great job. thanks
😊
Dude, THANK YOU! I AM NOT AN IDIOT, BUT I SURE AS HELL FELT LIKE ONE TRYING TO INSTALL THIS THING! 🤣 This video was perfect, so thank you so much!! 👍🏼
Glad it helped! Way to get it done 💪🏼
Thank you for positing this video. Excellent job covering all functions of the sprinkler head.
Well done. Thanks for the clear description. Very helpful
Great video. I wish I found this last year when I hired a landscaper to soak my fence and destroy it. He told me he dialed it in the best he could
Sorry to hear about the destruction. Glad this could help.
Thank you sir, very informative. You touched up on the exact sprinkler head I have. My sprinkler was hitting my outside condenser unit and it corroded the accumulator. You're definitely getting a like and I subscribed to your channel. Thank you sir.
Great instructional video! Thanks!!!
Great, just what I was looking for. UR the MAN...
Thank you, that wa easy to understand!
better explanation than the professional..layman terms 👍👍👍
Thanks for a good, clear, succinct review of how to adjust these sprinkler heads. Very helpful
Your video helped immensely. It seems Hunter instructions, if you have a microscope to read them, are designed to be ambiguous. Your video helped me install a new PGP in about 10 minutes. Thanks so much!
Excellent well detailed video.
Thankyou, you saved me a service call.I had a jamed head. Lifted it up with the key. Works great. Much appreciated.
Thank you!!!
Excellent
This is the best video nice clear explanation with no bs. Thank you!
Excellent tutorial. Thanks for posting.
Good, clear instruction - other than the written instructions that come with the product, that have to be read with a scanning electron microscope because they have to send them in 8 different languages.
Good job
Superb tutorial!
Thanks man
Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks!
Thank you for your very helpful instructions,so clear and didactic information update, with your help I fixed my brand new hunter sprinkler 🙏🤗
Awesome to hear!
Awesome! I am going to try it with one of my new Hunter Sprinkler heads that I am going to replace. Thank you!
Extremely helpful - thank you sir!
Nice job. Saved me some coin, and I can do it myself now.
Thanks. This was way more helpful than the top-down only Hunter video. I'm sure they were trying, but I think you did a better job explaining. Thanks.
Thank you 🙏
Excellent video. Made the DIY process simple.
Thank you for posting this information . . . very well done!
Thanks ❤❤
Great explanation thanks for sharing
Thank you , so much! You did the best explanation out of all the videos I have watched. Blessings. :0)
Thank you, thank you. Great video. Love the close up pictures too.
Thanks for the feedback!
Excellent! This is exactly what I needed. I was trying to adjust the arc (swivel) using the wrong end of the tool. I didn't realize I needed to be using the white T-shaped end instead. Perfect explanation. Thanks for making this video!
Good to hear Rob. Always great to hear the videos are helping people!
Ugh. Same error here!! Just assumed the key was only for pulling up and the metal end would do all the adjustments. Whoops!
Me too! How embarrassing!
Very helpful and well done…..now I will go fix it!
Thank you
Thank you just what I needed
Excellent explanation 👌
Very clear and helpful video.
Great explanation. Thank you.
Great how to video
Great video instruction--just earned my subscription! 🙌🏻
Thanks!
Thanks you cleared everything up
Great info and simple! Thanksn
Very good information.
Super helpful. How would one go about getting a little more water volume out of this head without losing much distance in the throw? I have a couple zones with 5 of these on each and some seem like it’s putting out more of a mist versus larger water droplets (only 0.2” collected in my gauge after running an hour)
Very educational
Outstanding! Thorough explanation and exactly the sprinkler head I have. Thank you! I've subbed your channel. Cheers - Luther
Thanks!
Explained it very well. Thank you so much!!!!
Thank you very much, saved me some money.
Bloody brilliant, mate!
Very good video! Thanks!
I really like this video it’s the best
Thanks for the update on that rotate bro blessed
Awesome instructions… thanks
Thanks I will try
How about explaining how to set the right stop on the arc? You can't always screw the sprinkler into the riser exactly where you want the right stop to be, but I have heard that it is possible to unscrew the head from the base tube, pull it out, twist the head it to locate the nozzle accodingly, and then reinsert it and screw the nozzle back on the tube. Is this possible? Can you provide a video to demonstrate this procedure?
Thank you for this recommendation. Hope to have something for you and others soon!
@@thesprinklerchannel that would be very helpful. Thanks!
That’s what I’m asking too - I would think that’s 1 of probably 2 strategies to set RIGHT. But I’d prefer not to unscrew the start from the base elbow because I rubbed it very carefully free of dirt &sand specs that I hear can cause leaks if any are on the plastic screw threads.
Great video Thank you so much
Your awesome thanks for the help!
If you do not have that Hunters Tool, you can use a 3/32 hex key to adjust the water flow.
Thanks for the insight Steeg!
Thank you for the informational video. I thought I heard you state you would discuss the nozzles also, but the video ended before that happened, or I missed that discussion.
Installing Hunter PGP Nozzles - Sprinkler Rotor Head
ruclips.net/video/jxA1B7aSvKU/видео.html
Great videos on adjusting the PGJ and PGP nozzles. Can you make a video showing the spray patterns for the Hunter red, blue and low profile nozzles and when will it be good to use each one?
Thank you for the request! I’ll put this in the line up 👍🏼
Thank you!
Thank you! Great video! Have you come accross a sprinkler head that doesn’t automatically turn? I can move the head to the stop, it will automatically move it to the left and then it stays there
Gears are probably worn out. Time to replace.
Nice video
That you! That helps!
Thanks for this helpful video. Do you have a video showing how to adjust the starting point on the right? You reply several times about how to do it, but I need to see it because the words/terminology confuses me. Thanks!
We need to get that video made and posted. Thanks for this suggestion.
Excellent instruction! I'll watch again when the tool arrives and I adjust heads. One question and may have missed it, but I the right side is too far right and if I understand correctly the spray path is fixed or ends at the arrow. I need to move the right end point to the left. What am I missing?
Unscrew from body and rotate and then reinstall to change fixed right stop.
@@thesprinklerchannel Did exactly that after rewatching your video. Thanks again....
Excellent tutorial. I have just replaced an old Toro with this head and am running into an issue with adjusting the arc. I’m ok with the right side but when trying to decrease the arc (which is at or near 360 right now) to 90 (this is on a corner) I get the ratchety click immediately. I’ve tried adjusting with and without it running and seem to have this same result. There’s nothing on the Hunter website that I can find to help me with this issue. Do you have a suggestion? Thanks.
Trying adjusting opposite direction. Hunter is right fixed so the left side should decrease. Comment again if you are still struggling after trying this.
Super helpful video, wish I watched it before I over-screwed the adjustment screw and blew the nozzle out. I was able to find the nozzle on my lawn, but the screw is lost. Can the screw be replaced (and where would I find it??) or am I out $17 and need to replace the entire head?
If you have a sprinkler supplies only type of store they might have a replacement one or online. Make sure it is not just retracted but still there, usually it is still there just not visible until screwed down enough.
So I thought of this after I commented….and it works! I took the old head that was getting tossed anyway. Removed the screw. You are able to pull back the rubber top just enough to insert the new screw and just like that the novice mistake was fixed without having to find a sprinkler supply store!
Thank you so much. How can I change the nozzle…. It’s broken. Do I replace the whole PGP?
Installing Hunter PGP Nozzles - Sprinkler Rotor Head
ruclips.net/video/jxA1B7aSvKU/видео.html
Thanks
I just bought a couple of these sprinkler heads from Ace Hardware. I asked what tool is used to adjust the sprinkler and he told me a flat head screwdriver.
Glad you found this video
Great video and helped a lot. I have 3 heads that barely are putting out any water, they're all ok the far side of the yard. I changed out the nozzles, which didn't help. Do you think the filters are clogged and I need to install new sprinklers?
It does seem like they could be. I’d check the nozzle port and then proceed to unscrew the top off to check filter and inlet to head. If they are all on the same zone could also be something related to the valve.
@@thesprinklerchannel ok, thanks. Yeah the nozzles are fine. I did buy new sprinkler heads, because I'm not sure the pgp filters can be changed out. Hopefully that works
Unscrew the cap and pull the sprinkler innards out, turn on the water and flush the line. Do you have good water flow? If not you have a pinched line.
@@notavailable9919 yeah I think that's the issue, thanks
Can you turn this sprinkler head of temporarily. I have 8 on the same zone and only want to water with 4 of them. Overseeded fescue in back and bermuda in front, no need to water that. Love to try and conserve and not water my dormant bermuda. Thanks great explanations/video
Unfortunately not with this type head
That's what I thought. Thanks@@thesprinklerchannel
Hi! You mentioned this rotor starts on the right. However, how do I adjust the starting point on the right? Thank you!
One has to unscrew head from body after turning all the way to right then reinstall
hello, I have a plot of 35521 sqft, I put 17 sprinklers in a rectangle 23 ft inside the perimeter. I have a 2 HP pump (I do not remember the brand) and I put Hunter PGP Ultra sprinklers, but they have very little pressure in some places. What do you recommend me to do, divide the irrigation in two zones or put a bigger pump, for example 5.5 HP? Thanks
I’d probably try the bigger pump as that seems like it would be the easier solution. Do the flow rate calculations to make sure that is going to solve your issue.
insane how complex they made the adjustment of a basic movement. ..as if they made it so that most people cant use in properly...swiss watch adjustment vibes
Lol
Question, as I was removing an old rotor sprinkler there was teflon tape used when threading the rotor to the elbow. Is the teflon tape necessary?
Not necessary
Thanks for the video, what is the safest way to adjust the right side for Hunter PGP, once the unit is already in the ground?
I prefer to adjust it while it is running but the safest might be while it is off.
Unscrew the cap pull out the innards turn the head all the way to the right, place it back into the housing pointing it where you wish to aim and screw back in.
@@thesprinklerchannel Ok, but how do you adjust it?
Please and thank you!
I'm in the process of installing these for my lawn in which I require about 40 sprinklers. Can you plz tell me what kind of water source do I need to run 20 sprinklers at a time? What psi and gpm should my Submersible pump have?
Gpm needs will be based on calculating total of which nozzle is installed on each head. Quite a few calculations and planning needing to go into this. Sometimes sprinkler stores will do a free design plan but would be worth even paying for it to make sure it gets done right. Sorry not able to give a more robust explanation on a single comment here.
I’m trying to shorten the distance of the water flow of the nozzle on the triangle I tried it with the tool same one you show on the video but I can’t get it inside the grove seems as it’s clogged up any help with that ? Also is there any other nozzle that I can used with this pgp hunter heads to change the pattern of water sprays out
Sometimes the set screw is clogged with dirt or stripped out. Sometimes easiest to just install a new one. As for nozzle. The less flow, the shorter the distance it will spray. Also low angle nozzles can have the same affect.
@@thesprinklerchannel so as far for the nozzle goes is just to stay with the ones I have if it’s going to have the same effect correct ? Wondering because I’ve seen some in my neighborhood where the nozzle sprays as mist
Is it possible to turn off a head using any of the screws as you can with the I-20?
I don’t believe any of the PGP models allow that unfortunately. Great feature to have.
So in my application, the builder put in the same Hunter PGP. On a handful of them, they spread water to my neighbors yard too far on the fixed side (right side) of the PGP. Since there is no right adjustment on these, does this mean I have to dig them up and seat them again by hand?
With Hunter PGP you do unfortunately have to unscrew the head off the body of the sprinkler after turning it to the right stop point and then remove and reset the right fixed point where you need it and then screw back into body of sprinkler. Hope this helps.
@@thesprinklerchannel sure does, thanks
I have a mailbox in the way of my sprinklers spray. Would using one of the grey nozzles cause the stream to be lowered a few inches or does it not lower as much as I would think it does so the stream doesn’t go across the whole mailbox’s side. Thanks!
That might just do the trick! I’d definitely try it!
You can adjust spray arc with the setscrew in the top, otherwise grey nozzles are low angle.
Hello, I have the Hunter PGP and I was successful adjusting the left turn but the right turn goes to far to the right, off my lawn and watering my driveway. I want to adjust the right turn so that it is not going too far to the right (which is fixed :( so how do you align to the line of my lawn to begin with?
Remove from body and re-install after turning to right set.
Can you please go over rain bird sprinkler nozzles. I have some half circles but feel they spray high up and not straight forward, like the grass close to the head don't get much water. Am I missing something.
Installing The Correct Nozzle Correctly Rainbird 5000 Rotor Head
ruclips.net/video/I6TQa22iPog/видео.html
Here is one of our videos on the rain bird nozzles. Check out our other videos on the channel for other heads and their nozzles and more.
When replacing a PGP sprinkler head instead of digging the entire head out why can’t just the top be unscrewed with spring, and installed into the existing body already in the ground?
Also possible 👍🏼
