So basically the Protoss _used_ to reproduce like any other multi-celled organism, mammal most likely, but because they evolved too quickly child birth for them became far tougher since they have to output more energy then before in order to incubate the young. Thus they had to turn to technology to substitute a lot of the process, but their numbers still aren't very stable despite this. Basically, in making the Protoss more "evolved" they hurt the species as a whole. Which I think is kinda the point. Amon "purified" the Protoss, thinking he was making them stronger but in fact the may have just lead them to an evolutionary dead end by making them _too_ reliant on their psionic energies and losing some ability for physical growth. The Protoss cutting their nerve cords is not only a sign of them growing as individuals, but breaking the dependency of their psionic link. Maybe in time the Protoss will "reclaim" some of their lost heritage to bring their population back to more stable numbers. 16:00 Also, just imagining this image is blowing my mind right now.
It's honestly a pretty beautiful arc lol. A rejection of past toxic beliefs and tendencies while also striding for the new future and also incorporating all the old stuff that are still good and that can be changed for the better.
Truly impressive analysis and very good explanation. I've been seeking such level of analysis for a while, and yours is so good I am going to use it to summarize the different way of reproduction.
Matter for a newborn is taken from dark matter, as at the beginning of the universe. It's wildly energy-consuming for parents. After the emergence of a new awareness, they recover for a long time. One couple will not be able to create more than one child in their lifetime. That's my theory.😂
The only thing that can be said with any certainty about the Protoss physiology is that they have existed for a very long time in an environment of technology and psionic abilities, so their current appearance is not natural, their form and lifestyle are greatly distorted compared to how they looked in the beginning. Apparently, in their original form they had mouths, they reproduced like humans and drank milk, but their technology has left such an imprint on this that now all this happens differently. Personally, I like the idea that they reproduce by artificial insemination and are raised in incubators.
For me entire SC 2 is non-canon and a silly retcon. Somehow since SC 1 Bliz forgotten how hydras look like and what they attack with, what is zerg origin (no primal zerg existed), where Kerrigan was captured by zerg (platform, not desert), how protossi and their tech look like (very significant differences in design), what face Rainor had and so on. When SC 2 came out, I didn't recognise this game. It was some mix with Pokemon, Spore, WarCraft, whatever but not SC. So, about Zeratul. We DID see his model in Broodwar menu and he didn't have any nipples. Some stupid artist just failed the new model.
It was very difficult to understand what the hell you were saying because of your heavy accent. In the future, edit out your accent and edit in a clearer way of speaking and pronunciation of words, because my primary language is American English and I have very little accent so understanding me is easy, so do everyone a favor and practice speaking without your heavy foreign accent and re-edit the clearer voice audio into a "How do the Protoss REPRODUCE 2.0?"!
I'm Ukrainian and English is not my native language. Sorry for accent. I try to improve my skills. I add subtitles that people better understand the video. Thank you for your feedback.
